As beautiful as our wedding was, I unfortunately did NOT have a great experience working with FTG events and I would NOT recommend their services. I paid for the day of coordination package which included handling the contracts and communication 3 months in advance. I had a difficult time even getting a response back from Richel. It would take her weeks at a time to respond. And a couple vendors had trouble connecting with her as well. I actually emailed Richel a couple weeks before our wedding, stating that my experience working with them was subpar and asked if I needed to be reminded of the expectations, which I never got a response. On the day of the wedding, Richel and a team member were 20ish minutes late. And when they did arrive they were both holding iced drinks. Vendors were actually looking for Richel and asking where she was. I wasn't asked a single question on our wedding day. If that's what you want, fine. But I had mentioned wanting a certain use of rented furniture and it wasn't set up how I wanted. Which included, having to move furniture during the ceremony in order to accommodate our unity symbol. Also, our cake pops were out in the sun, melting. After the ceremony, food had not been saved for us, and when we went up to the table everything had been eaten. At our reception, ice for our drink buckets had melted and wasn't refilled so by the time we had gotten there the drinks weren't cold. I didn't ask for this to happen, but one would hope that your coordinator would assist with things like this. One positive. I do want to highlight the gentleman helping on the FTG team the day of our event. He was pointed out by many guests as very hard-working, personable and helpful and we were very appreciative of his services and kindness. He helped get items into the car at the end of the night and handed me a beverage or two after our ceremony. My husband and I worked with Monique from For The Good to plan our destination wedding in Oahu. From beginning to end, we had the best experience. Richel met with us before we committed to working with For the Good to get a sense of our vision for our wedding, our personal values and interests, and us as a couple. We connected with Monique shortly after to start wedding planning. Over the next 6+ months, we continued to meet in 2-3 month intervals to identify and select vendors and communicated via email in between. They gave us excellent suggestions about vendors to work with based on their previous experiences. We came to Oahu twice to visit in person, and they arranged a venue tour to plan the layout of our wedding. They even came to our tastings and took notes on dishes that we wanted to add or to change. We met at more frequent intervals leading up to our wedding date to finalize the timeline, design, and other details. Regarding our wedding day, the For the Good team made the day as stress-free as possible. They took care of all of the logistics and worked with all the vendors from set up to take down. When we arrived at our venue, everything looked exactly like we'd planned, down to the smallest details at our welcome table and the wedding arch. It was honestly even more beautiful than we'd hoped for. We ended up running a little bit behind on our timeline during the wedding itself because the speeches ran long, but the team worked to get us back on track to give us plenty of time to party with our guests. Most importantly, my husband and I got to focus on spending time with our family and friends throughout our big day. We so appreciate Monique and the rest of the For the Good team for working so hard to our wedding day one of the best days of our lives and make planning our wedding a breeze! I worked closely with Monique to pull off our dream wedding in only 4 months when we jumped on one of the few remaining 2024 dates available at Kualoa (which serendipitously coincided with my husband's 40th birthday weekend). She and the whole team at FTG made us feel so well taken care of and everybody they brought on board to work with us was excellent. Their work is beautiful (I pulled almost my entire pinterest wedding board from their portfolio), the vendors they recommended were all wonderful, the food was excellent, everything went above and beyond all my hopes and expectations. The educational videos they offered as a free part of the service were helpful too. It was definitely the most magical and happiest day of our lives. We originally hired Richel and her team in 2019 for our May 2020 wedding at Kualoa Ranch, and due to the pandemic we moved our date back twice! Richel made that process as seamless as possible. She contacted and rescheduled with our vendors each time we changed the date. On top of guiding us through finding awesome local vendors originally, she also was able to help us retain every single one (outside of the DJ) for our postponed date. (And our DJ ended up being perfect in the end.) We are from California, and in the months leading up to the wedding we were able to send numerous boxes of little items we hoped to have at the wedding directly to the For The Good offices. This was a huge help considering it was a destination wedding. We had requested a disco ball for our tent, and Richel knew how much we love music - so when it came to the day of our wedding, she surprised us by purchasing a bunch of mini disco balls that they added to the table settings. I'm sure they would have removed them if we didn't like them but of course we did! It was a really nice touch and made us feel special. Richel has a very calm and welcoming demeanor, it felt like we were supporting a true local small business run by real people. She really helped us feel supported through our years and years long process. When it came to the day of our wedding, her all female crew couldn't have been nicer and more on top of things. Weddings can be very high stress environments and I think Richel and For The Good have the right approach to everything. We hired Richel for full service planning a year out from our wedding and had the worst, most unprofessional experience that I hope no one else goes through. There's so much that happened, but I'll do my best to summarize it. The experience lacked many things one might expect of a full service planner - prompt communication, attention to detail, organization, timely planning, budgeting assistance, feeling like there was genuine care for our day, and accountability for mistakes or shortcomings. I could go on.... When we didn't hear from Richel for weeks at a time even after multiple follow ups (via text and email) and would confront her requesting swifter communication and acknowledgement of our messages, even if she didn't have a true update, we were either met with her completely dodging the conversation, lame excuses or gaslighting us. This happened multiple times. The week of the wedding, I had vendors reaching out to me for information because they couldn't even get ahold of her... one vendor even said they would never reach out to the bride week of but were desperate. As you can imagine, the wedding planning was slow and delayed because of this pattern... After talking to a friend who is a wedding planner and researching myself, it was confirmed we were very behind on booking the vendors and much of the planning process. I asked Richel many times to provide multiple suggestions and quotes for vendors and would usually only see one... The one time we pushed back due to pricing, we finally got another quote for a different vendor that was much more reasonable. Why wasn't she comparing prices the entire time? This is what I mean when I say lack of budget planning. She couldn't find us an after party venue for months... her suggestions were either astronomically priced (1/4 of our budget) or the local Dave and busters. My fiancé and I made a few calls and ended up finding a great place that met all our needs... We're not professionals and we were able to find something relatively easy. She sent me an email less than two days before the wedding as I was heading to my rehearsal dinner with a laundry list of items for me to work on/send to her AND a final invoice (that was dated two weeks prior). I still can't believe she didn't think to send the invoice right when she got it (after we expressed wanting to pay for all the final invoices as soon as possible so it didn't pile up)... and most of the items she sent me to do absolutely could've been done the week or two before. SO MANY MORE INSTANCES of her poor work that I wish I could explain. There were certainly SOME good moments... thank goodness our wedding was still great (minus some hiccups but I'm working on getting over it), but overall, I would never recommend due to the terrible planning experience. We are writing this review for Styled Elopements. My husband and I secretly eloped in March 2022. (Our apologies, we had to remove the original review to avoid spoiling the secret for our family). We announced our marriage to our family and friends and we now get to share how amazing our experience was with Marisa and the team. The best decision was to hire this team because they delivered on all levels. All we personally wanted was for the process and day of to be stress free, effortless, and special. We received all the above and more. We are blessed to have found Styled Elopements and to have been paired with Marisa. She did an amazing job looping us in on the small details of our elopement, executing my floral vision in such a short amount of time, and making sure the day of went smoothly. She put together the best elopement team for hair+makeup, the officiant, and our photographer. Marisa literally made my Pinterest Dreams come true. For the worst. My fiancé and i were inquiring about a wedding with them in July of 2023. We had an online video call set up just about few weeks ago looking forward to discussing wedding logistics and quotes. However, about a few hours before the call we've received an email saying "oh the date has been filled." Which is fine, but the terrible customer service that followed after our response was a huge red flag. We emailed them back saying "okay.. would you care enough to ask us about rescheduling another date? We are flexible" We have gotten no response from them. We felt ghosted and it is highly unprofessional. In the questionnaire survey it asked us about our budget. Which was roughly 40k. If it's because the budget was too low, we be happy to be told that, but no answer still. We have the email to prove it. If it's because working with us as a couple from CA, that's fine too. But til this day, no response. Could it be discrimination? Could they be overwhelmed? Who knows. All I know is this type of customer service is NOT okay. Highly don't recommend. read more

If you want to deal with things like having enough seats set up for the family of the bride/groom and no answers to any questions/concerns you have (like getting enough parasols for the parents on a super sunny day) then this is the service for you. I was hesitant to write this review as a member of the family and it has been a few weeks since the wedding,in Hawaii, but I still cannot believe how bad Marissa was. Of course I did not say anything to the bride and groom because it was their special day and we (bridesmaids and family members) wanted them to not have to worry about a thing and enjoy themselves but I know for a fact that the bridesmaids were dealing with texts not being answered by Marissa during the wedding reception and even my teenage daughter had to step up and deal with things that we, should not have had to, when there is a wedding planner on site. I saw her here and there, just standing there and by the end of the evening, she knew we were not happy with her lack of assistance with anything ,so her fake smile and fake voice disappeared. We were happy to help make sure my parents were comfortable and the bride and groom enjoyed every moment, but this shouldn't be the case when a wedding planner is hired to be responsible for the things we had to deal with. My journey with FTG began in May 2022. Like most other brides, I had stumbled across them on Instagram after deciding on a destination wedding in Hawaii for March 2023. FTG social media pages are filled with beautiful aesthetics that any bride would dream of on their big day. My initial interactions with Owner Richel were pleasant. Being that I live over 5,000 miles away I knew that I would require full event coordination and planning, which Richel reassured me that it would not be a problem. FTG has been in business for over 10 years and has a well-established number of resources to guide their couples through the wedding process that I found very helpful. During my first call with Richel, I explained my vision for my wedding and shared that I would be visiting in August to tour my wedding venue, Kualoa Ranch. In July, Richel reached out via email and shared that during our visit she would like to schedule tastings, our venue tour, and discuss our design for the wedding and asked for my flight details. After this email was sent, I did not receive any response from Richel for over 3 weeks. Our trip and tastings went well overall, even with a few small hiccups on scheduling we still felt relieved and excited for our wedding. Communication was my biggest obstacle during this process. I last heard from Richel on 11/14, and then did not receive any communication until 1/14 when she informed me that she had taken some time off for a medical emergency, which I completely understood. When Monique stepped in to take over the planning, I found myself very frustrated because it felt like I was starting from the beginning two months before my wedding. I was answering questions on things that I felt should have already been handled. I found a local vendor in my hometown that made hand painted tiles that I wanted to use as seating cards, I purchased and had them shipped to the FTG with an arrival date of 3/6 before my 3/13 wedding. I was reassured that someone would be present for their delivery, but unfortunately my tiles were not received or, so I was told. I was out of that money but was told that a comparable equivalent would be provided. As we got closer to the day, I was constantly reaching out for updates because I was unsure on how the timeline and flow would work. Not once was I offered a phone call, and all my voicemails went unanswered. The night before the wedding, there had been no communication on how transportation would be coordinated for my guests from Waikiki to Kaneohe until I reached out via text. I had to text directions out to my guests 7 PM that evening who were upset that I waited so long to tell them. The day of my wedding, the FTG team knew I was frustrated. We had exchanged a few texts back and forth and it was quite evident that they wanted to get the day over with. When I arrived at the venue, I was upset to see that our last name was spelled incorrectly on our signs.As our reception went on, Alyssa was the only coordinator that consistently checked on us while the other sat outside the bridal suite and ignored me every time I walked by. At the end of it all, I feel let down. I don't believe that these ladies had any malicious intent, but had communication been better throughout maybe my experience would have been better. Either way I had a beautiful day and was able to marry the love of my life in one of the most beautiful places in the world. read more

For The Good was a godsend for us! I worked primarily with Monique during the planning and the day of most of the team was there to support. These ladies really know what they're doing! During the planning process Monique was always prompt answering any questions through email and making sure you don't miss any important details. We are from California and never actually visited our wedding venue (Kualoa Ranch) until the day before our wedding. Monique was so helpful when it came to providing more insight so that we could come up with a good layout for the space. We did a rehearsal the day before the wedding which was so reassuring for our wedding party because everyone knew where they needed to be. On the day of, this team made sure I didn't have to worry about anything at all, they were always one step ahead! They have great relationships with other vendors which made the day-of setup run smooth! Even when it started pouring rain during the reception they made sure some of our rental furniture was covered from any damage. My husband and I were really able to just enjoy our day and our guests. I am so grateful to have worked with this group and I would recommend them to anyone planning to get married on the island! Overall - what you really want as a Bride/Groom is to work with a professional team that knows what they're doing so that you don't have to worry about anything except to enjoy your special day. TLDR: Day of coordination and overall event was great. Planning process (for full-service) required more involvement than expected. Short review: We hired FTG at the beginning of 2020. We chose them because they are a full-service wedding planning/stylist company with a beautiful portfolio of events. We're based in Seattle and wanted someone who could plan our wedding at home (HI). FTG seemed like a good choice because they've done big events and have a large network of vendors. We booked the caterer, photographer, and venue on our own and needed help with everything else. Everything else was the hardest part. We struggled with communication--especially in the 5 months before the wedding. Some vendors weren't booked until a month before the wedding. We learned that high vendor demand meant delays in quotes. This should have been shared sooner, as I emailed many times over many months AND gave feedback on the lack of response. I don't feel like my needs were anticipated (like a vendor tip suggestions chart). We needed a full-service planner, but I would have liked one who could anticipate questions and needs that might have come up. Experience w/ details: The pandemic altered some of the plans we had. Planning tools - Too many When we hired FTG, they sent a planning guide with a timeline, an Aisle Planner tool, and videos. We were told to use Pinterest for inspo. There was also a google sheet with meeting notes. This was too much to keep track of and I used the original guide. Communication - too many emails, hard to keep up New quotes got new emails, quotes were embedded in emails. We had two style guides (old and new) and I couldn't find the new one easily, even with an email search. Communication details: 1. Late 2020: Delayed 2021 event to 2022 because of COVID. Signed a new agreement and were still charged based on the original payment schedule. Weird detail to miss when FTG also helped us delay services from our vendors. 2. Early 2021: Asked about small elopement and got recs. No follow up until after our elopement package with the venue. FTG said they could plan an elopement as we were full-service clients. A check in would have been nice, but IG suggested they had other elopements to work on. 3. Late 2021 to early 2022: According to their guide, certain vendors should be booked by 6 months. COVID changed this. I emailed several times with a list of current vendors and a smaller guest list (200 to 30 guests). 4. Feb 2022: Shared my concern with the event progress. 5. March 2022: FTG shared that vendors were taking long to deliver quotes. This should have been said sooner. 6. April 2022: final call to wrap up, STILL felt unprepared. Vendors were still pending. 6. April 2022: Got two floral quotes 3-4 weeks before event. Aside from $, difference was unclear and I didn't receive guidance. 7. May 2022: Event went well, but I wasn't asked if I wanted to keep our ceremony flowers... This could have been discussed in April. Details from meetings seemed lost, like reusing ceremony chairs or using ceremony flowers as decor. We wanted a lounge for the reception and had to remind FTG to rent one. Overall, there's a dissonance between their portfolio on IG and my own planning experience with them. FTG delivered a good event, but the planning experience was mediocre. read more

Total peace of mind. That's what we would feel at the end of every single planning meeting with Richel and her team. We live in Seattle and we hired For The Good to plan a destination wedding in Hawaii for this September. Everything was going perfectly until Covid hit. After feeling paralyzed for months, we decided that even a pandemic wouldn't stop us from committing to each other this year. Richel and her team helped us shift all our vendors for our larger celebration to next year. They also helped us pivot this year to be a local elopement style wedding. It was beautifully executed. Richel even flew up from Hawaii to Seattle to make sure everything went smoothly.  We're now happily married and we couldn't have imagined going through it all without the support and precision from Richel and her team.  If you get the opportunity to work with Richel, know that you're already crushing it with your decision-making. You're getting someone who is expertly organized and extremely detailed oriented. Someone who is extremely passionate and genuine in her desire to strip away all the stress and headaches that go into planning a wedding. She's never rattled and her calm radiates with every conversation that you have with her. Every planning update will feel like time well spent because Richel always comes prepared with rationale backed by experience, multiple options, and most importantly creative ideas. On the day of our elopement, Richel and her team made an emergency run to the store to pick up carpet runners for the ceremony. That's dedication. But that's just how FTG operates. They care and they hit a home run for us. With their expertise, we got the best of both worlds--we were able to invite our immediate family for our elopement while still carving out alone time together. They even made the perfect suggestion to take in the moment after the ceremony with a picnic for our family, which turned into one of the most special moments of the day. Wish I could give a 0 star for this company. The initial FIRST month of "planning" was decent. Communication: ONE phone call (introduction/interview) and the rest was email. We booked in February of 2019 (ONE MONTH BEFORE COVID). So I had 3 vendors already booked on my own by then: Venue, Makeup/hair & DJ/EmCee. I was in communication with other vendors and had sent Monique everything I had for her to catch up/give her two-sense. I initially hired Richelle and her counterpart Monique as they had a decent following on social media and reviewed well (at the time). Fast forward through the slim-to-no planning during the pandemic (& because Hawaii was very strict with rules on gatherings..) Monique KNEW our guest count was 200 or just under. Fast forward 10 months, I asked if we should start planning again and without hesitation or transparency (on gatherings or weddings in general there) she encouraged us to FLY out from CA to Hawaii, go to our tastings (12/2020). $1,000 for flights, roughly $2,000 for hotel. Tastings of course were fun and enjoyable yet STILL had 200 guests, November 2021 (our new date).. Once we get back to CA, I ask what the next steps are in the planning process, Monique then says that gatherings aren't allowed over FIVE and gave us options to host a small gathering, elope, host in CA...? I AM DUMBFOUNDED. our very own "trusted wedding coordinator/planner" had us fly and spend roughly $3000+ to go and taste the food we thought we'd be having at our wedding to tell us we'd most likely not be able to host one anyway... So I back to why waste my time and MONEY with you..? So many little things also triggered the frustration. In conclusion, the lag time in communication -- it would take days for them to get back to me. I'd have to re-send an email for any answers. To top it off, after we asked for a refund/any money back (we paid in full -- DO NOT!!!!) they claimed that Monique worked FORTY HOURS+ on our wedding. LOLOLOLOL. It was a global pandemic....?!!!!!! How?! Then she proceeded to block me on social media after we sent the termination of contract email.. This company is poorly run, does not have transparency with their clients, money hungry and sadly, had to BLOCK a bride/client of theirs on social media. It's comical and sad that there are companies out there like this For any COVID bride looking for a GOOD coordinator or planner, STAY AWAY from them. read more

Couldn't be happier!! We booked For The Good's styled elopement package in Hawaii. Marisa was so great to work with. We customized our package a little bit, and added some extra things we wanted (she coordinated a bouquet preservation, found our own photographer and videographer, HMU trial). We got the perfect venue to fit our needs. It was almost too easy! I didn't stress about anything, my wedding day was fabulous. I cannot say enough great things about them! I would add that yes - sometimes it takes a few days to receive email responses. That is normal in the wedding business! As someone planning my wedding, I was working an office job and checking my email hour by hour. In Hawaii weddings are 7 days a week (mine was on a Thursday!). This is the busiest wedding year in history. Sure, if you never hear ANYTHING back then that sucks. But complaints of emails taking "a few days" is ridiculous. I'm also wondering if these people are using FTG's messaging platform - there's a website we used to communicate back and forth - or if they're sending emails directly that are harder to keep track of. The video tutorials and all the tools and resources they provided to plan a wedding were SO helpful. I was told on numerous occasions that planning a wedding is one of the most stressful events you will ever plan in your life--can you imagine doing that + pandemic? As crazy and stressful as it might seem, FTG made wedding planning easier than we imagined. On our wedding day, we received so many compliments about how smoothly everything happened--and it was all due to Marisa, Richel and the team. I wanted to give an honest and fair review to help other brides. I booked the partial planning package with FTG for my intimate family wedding in December. Pros: The team is very organized, communicative, and friendly. The day of my wedding was beautiful. Marisa was very attentive and helped my vision come to life and added nice finishing touches to my day. Cons: I didn't feel like what I paid was worth what I received and in hindsight probably should have done a day of coordination package. I did most of the planning on my own and I felt like the price I paid was very high for what I received. To receive full value, this is definitely for a bride with a decent budget (30k+). read more

This wedding planner was on a list of coordinators recommended by my venue. When I went to For The Good Events' website, yelp, and Instagram I was very impressed. Their aesthetics are beautiful and appealing and they seem to have a lot of passion for wedding planning. However, I have been extremely disappointed and appalled with their lack of response and professionalism. I scheduled a consultation online and was sent a confirmation email. I was given a great first impression when Richel called me and my fiancé exactly on the dot of our appointment time. She seemed very warm and passionate about wedding planning and I felt like we would be in great hands. A few days after the call she sent us an email proposal with pricings for partial vs full coordination planning packages. This proposal was beautifully displayed through a PowerPoint, customized with our names and wedding date, etc. We were given 7 days to sign with them if we wanted to save $200 off the proposed packages. I responded to her email within the week to ask her a few more questions I had before signing a contract (differences between partial and full coordination, if they would offer customized partial packages etc). I was having email issues that week and wanted to make sure Richel received my response so I texted the number she had called me on when we had our phone consultation. I let her know I responded to her email and wanted to ensure she received it, and kindly asked her to let me know if she didn't receive it so I could resend it if needed. She never responded to my text message. A few days later she emails me to check in and see if I have any questions as though I never responded to her email. This confuses me so I respond to the email letting Richel know I've already responded to her previous email and copied my previous reply for her to see. I immediately get an out-of-office type automated response on 12/28/20 saying Happy Holidays and that they have events that week and would be slow with responses. It does say to text her immediate line if needed (the number I've tried texting previously with no successful response). It's been nearly two weeks and still no response to my email or text. My fiancé has even tried calling, left voicemails, and texted their listed number. No response. It's even worse because they are constantly updating their stories and posts on Instagram, encouraging people to schedule a consultation and call or text them with any questions. Their lack of response to any mode of communication has been extremely unprofessional. It almost feels like we were "ghosted" by a wedding planner. I can't help but feel like this was a blessing in disguise. If their team had too much on their plate or if they felt like we weren't going to be a great match, I would've understood and appreciated their time and honesty. Regardless, why would she send us a customized PowerPoint with our names and wedding date if she didn't have the time or any intention of proceeding forward? I would've expected Richel to at least have the common decency to respond to our numerous attempts of communication. It doesn't look like I'm the first person to experience this either (See older post from Diane about 1 year ago). I felt the need to share this information because it ended up being a waste of my time and their lack of communication was just so unprofessional. Imagine if this is how great their communication is after you sign the contract and have already paid a deposit. I'm very disappointed because Richel initially seemed genuine during our phone consultation and I had high hopes for this team. Listen to the other reviews that say they're impossible to get a hold of -- they're not lying! Sent my last email to Richel over a month ago (May '22) requesting an updated quote for partial planning wedding planning and got no response. Thought they might be busy or possibly overlooked the email (I get it, happens to the best of us) so I called them at the beginning of this week to follow up and, big surprise, got their answering machine. Left messages on both their office line and Richel's direct line requesting a call back or a response to my email -- 4 days later and still nothing. I'm not sure if they're not interested in working with us since we switched from a full service package to a partial planning package, but the fact that they don't even have the common courtesy to give a call back or any type of response to potential customers makes my fiancé and I so happy we selected another group. They're way over priced for the level of service they provide ($10k for their full service package is a joke considering the "ease" in which you can actually get a hold of them) and they're easily the most unprofessional of all the planners we've spoken to which is saying a lot. If having responsible and responsive planners is key for you, AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS! read more

FTG was very helpful in working with us on the style and atmosphere we wanted to create for our big day while also sticking firmly to our budget. At the time we got engaged we were in the middle of an international move and both starting new jobs and it was so helpful having Richel and the team providing us with different vendor options and managing the back and forth with the vendors so that we didn't have to! Richel also helped us plan for the smaller logistical things that we wouldn't have thought of ourselves to help make sure everything went smoothly. On the day we didn't have to lift a finger or worry about a thing! The team was prompt and helpful and managed everything all of the work behind the scenes and even brought us drinks throughout the post-ceremony photos & dinner so that we could focus on enjoying the festivities. If we were very decisive and don't need any comforts from your planner, Richel may be a not bad planner. But, we don't feel a piece of peace of mind with Richel. She has been not responsive either. Her responses took 3-5 days, and our email got ignored sometimes. Besides, she always recommended her preferable vendors to us regardless of our budget. That's just the systematic environment of the wedding business in Oahu. I just hope you don't waste your thousands of dollars like us... read more

Having FTG team as our day of coordinators was the best decision we have ever made! From the beginning, Richel made our first call so easy and made sure we were in control of what we wanted for our wedding, we set a budget and there was never pressure to go above it. We needed assistance in creating a layout and she was right there helping us along the way. Our main coordinator Marisa was an absolute Angel and blessing in disguise. She definitely goes above and beyond for you and makes you feel special in every way. Unfortunately we were affected by the wedding shut down in hawaii and had to postpone our wedding. Marisa immediately reached out and hopped on a call with me and just allowed me to cry when I needed to. She stepped in right away and made the transition so easy. We had many vendors and thanks to her, they all changed the dates without any questions. I felt so comfortable and relaxed knowing I had a huge supporter in my corner. Marisa was always extremely professional, very attentive, and responded to my many many questions in a timely manner. We had an initial consultation with Richel, which was very brief compared to other wedding coordinators we interviewed. I was told we would receive an estimate for the services that we were requesting, but never heard back. I followed up via email a few days later and still no response. I understand that they might be very busy, but the least you could do is let us know that you do not have the capacity to take on new clients. I was pretty bummed to have this experience, as this company was recommended to us by a friend. I would 100% agree with other reviews complaining about communication issues. read more

Unfortunately we did not get the opportunity to work with richel and team, which is completely understandable as I'm sure they receive many requests and can't possibly take everyone as a client. The one star is simply because there was no communication after our initial call with richel. We spoke with her and she said she would get together a proposal, but the proposal never came. I reached out to make sure she didn't need anything else from us, but again we received no response. We would've appreciated some form of communication telling us to look elsewhere so we weren't sitting there twiddling our thumbs. We were living in Berkeley, CA at the time, so we knew we needed a wedding planner to help us plan our big day from a distance. We had a great experience with Richel and her team. INEXPERIENCED, Disappointed, unorganized, and WASTE MONEY I've been a member of YELP for a few years and never ONCE WROTE A REVIEW UNTIL NOW. I've been a part of weddings as a bridesmaid, and this by far was very unorganized with no communication to the couple, bridal court, and vendors. The timeline was changed without updating the couple, VENDORS, and bridal court...with a lot of things!!! On the day of the wedding....no one showed face or communicated that they were here (which was an hour late)...it was WAY past an hour when I called them to ask Where they were. I told them you guys should come up and show face or call the bride to tell her that they're here and provide reassurance that everything will be ok (WHICH BY THE WAY IT WAS NOT). Everyone was CLUELESS with what was going on...couple, ALL THE VENDORS and photographers, bridal party, GUESTS, and emcee bc they didn't COMMUNICATE!!! My sister (maid of honor) and I along with the bridal party had to basically save the day and COMMUNICATE everything bc we DEMANDED an UPDATED timeline since they didn't give us one. I knew already it was going to be a problem bc at the wedding rehearsal THERE WAS NO LEADERSHIP and COMMUNICATION with them. **This is an incredibly late review... but LIFE got in the way :)** My 2 year wedding anniversary is coming up (tomorrow!!) and I couldn't help but think back to how amazing our wedding was and how incredible For the Good was in making our dream wedding come true. I am an A type personality and had major anxiety going into the planning of a 130 person wedding from CA. From the first meeting I had with Richel to the many emails and phone calls with Monique through the planning process, I always felt like my concerns were met and communication was always thorough with quick response times (something that is seriously lacking with a lot of Hawaii vendors). On the days leading up to the wedding, Monique was very attentive to my needs and punctual for our rehearsal. She gathered all my decor items and my intense notes on how I wanted everything set up and we didn't see her again until wedding day. I was a little concerned they would mess something up or forget to put things in the right places at the venue. BUT come wedding day, everything was perfect. They exceeded my expectations. Details that I didn't even think of were tended to - everything was perfect. FTG also stayed late to help clean up and managed the hand-back of the venue so I didn't have to worry about anything. I highly recommend FTG if you want a worry free planning process/wedding day. They are professional, detail oriented, seasoned and know most of the other vendors in the HI market. These ladies are the greatest professional planning and support system every couple needs!!! They have been there for us through it all -- and we mean every damn second of life's unexpected moments!! Monique and Richel were absolutely wonderful and patient throughout our planning process. We had connected with them originally for Day of Coordination, but they truly stepped up for every experience we threw their way, including a less than 24 hour planned elopement and a global pandemic one week before our planned wedding. We called Monique the night before we were flying to Hawaii on our way to Australia in December to see if we could arrange a private elopement with just the two of us on the one year of our engagement. These ladies truly delivered and were all hands on deck. They organized the most gorgeous scene on Magic Island, disco ball flourishing alter, Elvis on ukulele and surprised us with a photographer. It was untraditional and truly captured us from all of our initial conversations. For the Good Events made us feel confident in our day of coordination with their three month check in process prior to the wedding date to cover all the vendor details and event schedule. Monique had fabulous recommendations and communication where I felt lost organizing a destination wedding. This lady is magical. One week out to our wedding, the pandemic hit. We were bombarded with guest cancelations and in a sheer panic to make a decision quickly as majority of our guests were international and boarders were closing. Monique and Richel handled EVERYTHING for us. They contacted our vendors on postponement and cancelation policies and even offered to organize copy to send to our guests on our decision to cancel. These ladies went above and beyond their duties and made it possible for us to still have our day when we eloped along with beautiful photos to share with our family and friends after we recently broke the good news. We had late night Taco Bell during the reception, which they picked up for us. They helped me coordinate being brought to the aisle on a golf cart because my dad had trouble walking. We hired them for day of coordination, but they did sooooo much more than that. They were so responsive to our emails, and pay a lot of attention to detail. Richel and Mariah did an amazing job of helping us plan and coordinate our wedding on 5/29/16. We live in Seattle, and planning a destination wedding in Oahu posed some challenges. Richel and Mariah were amazing in making things run smoothly. They are organized and diligent, they have great network of vendors, and they have an amazing team. Our wedding wouldn't have been as great as it was without them. We wanted to have a coordinator so that our family and friends could just relax and enjoy the wedding day and that's exactly what happened.
