To start the menu is weak. There just isn't much options We made reservations but they acted like they weren't ready for a party of 4 Took quite a while to get water or attention at all. Water came But no menus. We brought wine and were told 3 times about corking fee from same girl. Ok. Yes we know. About 10 minutes go by and we get wine glasses because the manager noticed. She had to come back to open the bottle after bringing glasses. We get a couple appetizers. Fries and panna bread. No dishes or napkins yet. Or silverware. We stole them from two tables to use Our pizza shows. $87 for 3 small/ medium pizzas. Mine a meat stuff double. Hardly 5 pieces of pepperoni and I had to dig for the buried sausage and I don't think saw much else. $37 for that ugh. Fried were good tasting with aioli and fair for $8. Really don't know what their value out is there? And one final comment for our waitress, I don't want to know you have Calvin Klein underwear on, please wear a shirt that covers up your stomach or some pants that aren't low hip hugging. Finally found someone in the back and said I wasn't sure where to stand or go because there's no host station at the front. We just walked in and were standing around tables with patrons. Awkward. We were in the mood for pizza and the hotel staff said they had heard good things about Forage. It's in an old house and has a patio and a back area to eat outside which is lovely. Th server looked a bit overwhelmed and said she would get to us as soon as she could. So we went outside to the back to wait. I'm not sure of the reason for it taking well over an hour to get our dinner with the beer my husband ordered being warm and my wine only having a couple of saved sips by the time the pizza came because there wasn't any communication about why it was taking a long time. However, the pizza was interesting, fresh and piping hot! We got the special which was house-made sausage with kale and goat cheese. The kale was very bitter so I ended up taking some of it off. The rest of the ingredients were a great combination and the house-made sausage is fabulous! The crust is absolutely perfectly made and cooked! Ending a full day winery experience and heard so much about this restaurant. Well it does not disappoint. With three people at the helm-chef, sous chef and one server they worked fast and provided great service. The meal just mirrored the same sentiment. The place is quaint and in what look like used to be a home. They have indoor and outdoor seating. A variety of wine selection and beverage choices as well. We were so excited to try this restaurant, but wish we had never been. We made a reservation for 5pm on a Thursday as I knew I'd be bringing my baby and toddler and wanted it to be the least disruptive to others. The Restaruant had only 2 other tables occupied. We were seated immediately which was nice, but it took over 30 minutes to even order (even after trying to make eye contact with the server multiple times). After a long wait, we asked the server how the food was coming along and he gave us a dirty look and said "well it's coming" very rude. We waited for 2 pizzas and 2 basic meat sauce pastas for over an HOUR (assuming these were not made until minutes prior as pizzas in the oven take less than 15 min - we have a pizza oven!). By this time our baby and toddler are overly hungry, tired, and sick of waiting so my baby was crying. We did everything to calm him - brought toys and a show out, took him on walks around the building, played game and read books, but the server and staff were giving us dirty looks, and whispering about us to each other. We were absolutely SHOCKED at the looks at attitude we kept receiving - to the point that the table behind us said they couldn't believe it either. The server meanwhile never checked in on us once. Didn't fill waters. Didn't even bring a water for my kids. It was clear they DO NOT WELCOME CHILDREN here. We eat out frequently with our children and have never ever experienced this treatment or ever felt so unwelcome. My husband ended up leaving before food was even served to drive the baby around. Regarding the food taste: Our food was really not appetizing and actually bad. The pasta sauce tasted like cheap canned sauce and we couldn't even eat it! We left the whole bowl and didn't eat it or bring it home. Yuck. The pizza was decent but one of ours came out completely underdone (photo attached of it in the box). We didn't ask for it to be cooked longer since we had already waited over an hour and felt so uncomfortable by the staff. read more

Wow! This pizza was AMAZING! Meat lover pizzas are usually not my first choice but that's what the hubs wanted. I'm glad I went with his choice (and added mushrooms). It was SO tasty! Not too much sauce. Just enough crunch on the crust. We wanted a good wood fire pizza and man did we get it! One pizza was enough for us both. Valentine's Day is a busy night but to arrive for our 6pm reservation and find the two staff members so overwhelmed and stressed already was a bad sign. We were sat at 6:30. Our pizza arrived at 7:30 and was lukewarm. No apologies from staff or even a welcome or check in about our food. The food alone is a solid 4.5 stars. The service was 2 stars at best. Long Story; We got there and waited 20 minutes for someone to seat us, (they were not super busy, but it looked like maybe understaffed). No one asked us to wait or said they would be right over, or that they were short staffed. Once seated it took, another 15 minutes for someone to take our order. We ordered one pizza and a salad, no beverages (just water). The server didn't write down our order.... Came back 10 minutes later to confirm our order (thankfully, because he had the wrong pizza). Just over 45 minutes later... (so we've now been at the restaurant for over 90 minutes). The pizza and the salad came. The Caprese salad was pretty, but had double the amount of tomatoes vs cheese, but the flavor was good. The pizza that was brought to us was the wrong one (stick with me here), the same wrong one we had corrected the server on earlier. He switched it for the right one from the table next to us (thinking they ordered the one he brought us). Turns out they didn't order that one and we just got their pizza, which was the right one for them and for us (we ordered the same pizza). We got to keep it, and they had wait for a new one. Overall we enjoyed our food, but over two hours at a restaurant with little to acknowledgement of the situation, (the wait, the wrong food etc.) is pretty bad. The bill came and the pizza we didn't order (which had a higher price tag) was the pizza on the bill. At that point, we had been there for over two hours and just wanted to go home so we just paid the bill. I work in the service industry a simple "I'm sorry this is taking a really long time", or maybe a heads up before they sat us that they were short staffed etc., also "Oh shoot I made a mistake on your order", would've gone a long way... it makes me think that maybe this is how it is here, in which case we definitely won't go back. Don't bring your kids here. This business is not welcoming of parties with kids! I was in the area from LA and wanted to give this place a try so we walked in. The margarita pizza and pesto pizza were fine. What really made me feel unwelcome was the server. I brought my toddlers who were being normal toddlers and laughing while waiting for the food. The server was nowhere to be seen most of the time, and he didn't come once to check in on us. The only time he approached us was when my toddlers were being normal loud toddlers, said," this is too loud" (gesturing toward my kids). Rude, but understandable. When I asked him if they had smaller or plastic cups for the toddlers rather than talk glass cups, he said "We don't. We usually don't get kids." That rubbed me the wrong way, as I saw an older kid across the table, and another customer walk in with two toddlers. I had to look for him in the back to order food, and again to pay the bill. From the Marionberry lemonade to the caprase salad, then the artichoke dip and oven toasted bread... I could have stopped there but no I committed to eating the wood fired pizza... meat lovers and loosen your belt cause things we so tasty I was not asking for a take home box. What a great experience me and my fiancée had when we came to Forage. The first time we drove by the place, we missed the turn so drive slow when you're going here! We were able to meet the owner, Chris who is also the chef himself. Safe to say, we will be back. The meat lovers pizza was incredibly good as it is wood fired, giving that crisp crunch to each bite. The cheese is cheesy in the best way and the vibes were immaculate. I loved the homey Italian vibe to the place. The music was incredibly chill; it's nice to go to a restaurant with music that is not overwhelming. We got the caesar salad which was perfect to share between two, and the apple galette for desert. The apples were cooked perfectly while being crunchy, the crust was fluffy, crispy and delightful. It was drizzled with honey and it was incredibly balanced with sweetness with a homemade whip cream on top. What I really appreciated here was the service and uniqueness of Forage. It's in a quite old vintage home downtown which provides a unique experience for me. For one, you park back down a small driveway near the back patio which is an option for seating. You can also sit inside, or outside street side. SCW and I chose inside by a window and the menu is entirely on bar code. Fine, a little awkward for those who don't know how to use it but ok. We ultimately ordered the artichoke dip for starters and it was amazing. Very creamy, and flavorful. It came with amazing pita bread. Really amazing pita bread. We brought some back to our hotel it was that good. Nice char, great texture, really good. We also had the marghertia pizza. It was meh, ok. I really didn't find much flavor in it although it had been well crafted. It served it's purpose but I wouldn't necessarily order it again. I'm mostly plant based, but I'm not perfect in that regard. This hidden gem is a 5 star every single day and twice on Sunday! I didn't know this place existed but saw someone mention it online and decided to check it out with my lady. We went on a Sunday evening, and there was a large party but still plenty of seating in this old house turned restaurant. When we finally got seated we checked out the menu and got a pizza with cherry tomato, prosciutto, and fresh basil, Caesar salad, and spinach dip. We got spinach dip first, it comes with homemade flat bread and was amazing! The dip is warmed in the wood fired oven, and the flat bread is so warm and chewy. We had to resist temptation to devour it all! The Caesar salad was also top notch with scratch made Caesar dressing, and fresh, crisp romaine. The star of the show was obviously the pizza. From the dough, to the sauce and fresh ingredients it was out of this world good! I want to try their homemade sausage next time! When you go wine tasting a side effect can be becoming tipsy. And there's no better remedy for inebriation than a good, wood fired pizza. This is one of those places that has you scan their code to bring up the menu on your phone. I really hate that because I never remember to put reading glasses in my purse. The gal was super helpful and brought out a printed copy for me. The girls started with a freshly made artichoke dip. I started with the caprese salad. It was almost too beautiful to touch. It had very even parts of red and yellow cherry heirloom tomatoes, basil and fresh mozzarella. My only real complaint is that the portion size of the salad was quite small considering it was $13.00. For our pizza we opted for the salami and kalamata olives. The pizza did not disappoint. The crust was crispy yet foldable. A perfect combination. The girls loved the artichoke dip. I gave it a try and thought it was rather bland and dry. Not what I look for in a dip. All in all I would definitely come back again. Was visiting from CA, and wanted some good pizza. This place was recommended by one of George Fox students. When I ate a piece in the car while the pizza was still hot it was tasty. Got back to the hotel room to sit and eat the pizza was okay. I ordered sausage, and pepperoni and there was not much of either. I did like that the owner said they forged their ingredients. Really wanted to try this place out for Father's day. Seemingly a step above the fast food and the franchise restaurants around. The restaurant is inside and outside. In the back and in the front. The front is exposed to the traffic rolling by and revving their engines. You can block it out for sure. The back is all covered and real cozy. Either for that large group or that date you want to be a little extra romantic. The Pizza is wood fired. This one was slightly under cooked. Wood fired being part of your marketing you would think you would have it down. At such high temps it is a thin line between under cooked and burnt. It lacked cheese. Creating a slightly greasy pool on the top. Almost just not quite there. Steak was over done for medium rare. Seemed recooked from being cooked. Potatoes were reduced to one potato cut into fours. Onion rings were also recooked. A decent result just not as upscale as the price. A good friendly setting The tables and spacing make for some intimate space. Is it odd for me to start a review by saying that I had the best Caesar Salad ever? I am not sure what made it better than the rest, but it was delicious. It seemed to have the perfect ratio of dressing to lettuce, croutons, and parm. My only regret is that I had to share it was the other 3 at the table. Next time I am getting one all to myself. It is so good I might just return for the salad. We also had two pizzas and the artichoke dip with wood oven pita bread.
