Bring back the tiny Pepperoni! It was so good and what you look for in a solid NYC style pizza.

First time and we were NOT disappointed. So happy to have this near by. Love the one on the 101 but this was just as delicious. We had a variety of food and all it was perfect. Ravioli, pizzas, gluten free Gnocchi and a salad. I have missed Pizzicato so much since it left this location so I'm thrilled to have this! It will be a new weekly pick up for sure. We ordered our pizzas for pick up and arrived at the time they stated would be ready. They were ready but for how long? Probably quite awhile as the pizzas were lukewarm when we got them home. It was awkward as we had friends over so we decided to microwave to warm them up which is never as good. The crust seemed different from Buona Forchetta's but when we warmed the pizzas up in the skillet, they were delicious. We loved the Mulberry Hill pizza and enjoyed Cobble Hill & Bleeker St. pizzas along with two orders of meatballs. We'll go back but will eat there rather than picking the food up. read more

I struck out twice, eating here, but 3rd time was a homerun. First visit, ordered the ceasar salad, way too much dressing. The lettuce was drowning. Second visit, got the eggplant parm sub, eggplant wasn't thoroughly cooked, I couldn't bite through it. It was like leather. Third visit, I decided to try the pizza, since that is apparently what they're known for. We arrive, sit at a table, waiting for a server. Suddenly about 25 people come in for a party, and got in line to order. I don't think any of them had been before, as they all asked many questions, which made the wait a long one. There was only one girl at the register, and one person helping her serve the food. Once she got their orders, she came right over, apologized for the long wait, took our orders, apologized again. I've never seen people hustle as fast and hard as these two, and the guys in the kitchen were crazy fast! They got those people served as fast as humanly possible. They all deserve a raise! Three other tables sat while she was taking the long ass orders from the party people, and she did her best to tend to everyone. That party was ridiculous to each order and pay separately, they should've ordered a bunch of pizzas and salads and split the bill. It was their fault all of us waited so long, obnoxious. The pizza was excellent, the bruschetta should be on a thicker piece of bread so it doesn't get soggy so fast, and the garlic bread also is a tad bit lacking. My friend got lasagna and loved it. If you want a delicious pizza, this place is great. read more

Super delicious. Seems like anything the forchetta group makes is bomb and blows the old places out of the water. Subs are delicious. Personally love the pizza at buena forchetta but it's kinda a pain to do pickup there cause of parking and so many people in line to be seated. The concept is good but execution was sketchy. I should have known better considering I'm from the East Coast but when a pizza shop offers any combo of toppings by the slice, it means that the toppings are going to get dumped onto a premade pizza and then reheated. And that never tastes good. We would have considered returning to order a whole pie, but the outdoor seating was filthy and so we will not be going back. I don't think this store will stay open long but I wish them the best. read more

Hidden gem around the bend from Rubio's and Alice's on El Camino Real. Brought my son, our post-charity-walk appetites and a relative who loves Italian. We were not disappointed. The pizza is delicious. Thin crust with a light sauce that doesn't overwhelm. The Greek salad has a delicate dressing that complements the fresh greens, olives, and artichoke hearts. They have outside seating for your pups and warm and friendly employees. Will definitely return the next time I'm in Encinitas. read more

forchettabouddit, more like forget about it... you can easily skip this italian "restaurant". i ordered a pizza and it came out with plenty of problems. the crust was way too undercooked and each slice was drowning in cheese. just a tip, a little tomato sauce would help... i suggest doing your stomach a favor and going somewhere else. read more

The food was shockingly bad! Usually even cheap pizza is addictively delicious. This pizza left a terrible taste in our mouths. We made the mistake of buying two and threw away an entire pizza. We also got a Caesar salad and there was no dressing and the croutons were spongy and inedible. Usually I just send a private message to a restaurant but this was so bad and the place has good reviews. It's mystifying. read more

We thought this place was phenomenal. The staff was exceptionally nice and welcoming. It was causal (which we love) but the food was much much better than a typical casual pizza place. Our mulberry st pizza was perfection and we got a meatball sub that was made with the perfect bread it seemed like it was from the east coast. My latest experience was really not good. I requested onions on my Bleeker St pizza and got a pizza without onions but also the other four toppings were all in the center 4 inches of the pizza. And, it wasn't cooked properly. Someone took that pizza out early. The sandwich was inedible. And, not cooked well. I had a sandwich at The Wise Ox and thought why can't they all be like this. It was hot, the meat tender and seasoned to perfection! I really like Buona Forchetta but I'm not sure I'll come back here. read more

We waited 1.5 hours for our food. Tables that arrived after us left before we were served our food. We had to ask 3 times for the server to check on our food. Finally my husband had to go and ask and the kitchen was unaware that we we waiting on food. read more

First of all, I'm Italian. The pizza here is not even worth it even Chuck E Cheese's pizza is better. The pizza is soggy and it wasn't even cooked properly. Also don't order the fries here they put way to much salt and they don't even taste like fries to begin with. Service was horrible and very slow. One of the people at the counter weren't friendly. Incredibly authentic Italian food, probably because the owner is from Italy. I ordered a sandwich that I used to get back east at neighborhood shops owned for generations by Italian families. I got the sausage, peppers and onion sandwich with smoked mozzarella. The sausage itself was delicious, cooked just right and sliced like it should be -lengthwise. No little medallions of sausage here. And you get that tactile snap as you bite through it. The red peppers were freshly roasted, with some char still on the skins. Same with the onions. The roll was also an authentic one like you'd find at a good sub sandwich shop back east -or in Italy. The first bite was amazing, and that sandwich just disappeared. My only regret was that there wasn't more. Next time I'm trying the pizza. With Italian sandwiches this good, I'm betting the pizza is to die for. read more

if i could rate this 1000 stars i would, waiters are nice and will talk to you. great service, always checking up on you. its not very busy so sometimes you can sit alone by yourself or with someone. the food is excellent, pizza is the best and always freshly cooked. its peaceful and a nice ambiance, very great place to go eat and good price point. definitely go here if you are nearby or visiting, you wont ever want to leave. read more

Pizza was great, but I miss Pizza Portofoglio, the place that was here before. Forchettaboutit seems to be using the same oven that Pizza Portofoglio was using, but the style of pizza is different; it's a NY-style pizza. I wonder if it would be worth offering different styles of pizza on the menu. I prefer Neapolitan-style pizza, which is what Pizza Portofoglio used to make. I know Buona Forchetta, which now owns this pizza place, makes a killer Neapolitan-style pizza. It would be awesome if they brought that recipe here to Forchettaboutit! read more

Generally very good pizza but they need to work on consistency. Dined in within their first few weeks of opening, got their Mulberry Street and the pizza was great. Ordered pick up more recently and both pies were very so so. The dough was uneven, the crust was not uniformly thin, the tomato slices were thick and chunky, and the cheese lumpy and patchy. Felt like a rush job or perhaps a novice trying out his hand! Hence knocking off a star. Will try them again. We are long time aficionados of Buona Frochetta (all 3 locations) and hope that the last experience was an exception (Forchettabouddit does not become Forgettabouddit :) ). read more
