My son picked up a kids meal to try. The chicken was dried. The cookie was delicious. Large indoor seating. Plenty of parking.

Have to drop this down to 2 stars . I've been here a couple times since my initial visit and it keeps going down hill. From " we're short staffed " to "She never mentioned the sauces". I tried to like this place even driving from Oceanside but it's been nothing but cold food and messed up orders. First, get rid of that IPad and tip option. There is no need to tip anything as it's self serve . Take care of the kitchen so the orders come out correctly. If they don't, that's on you . Don't take the food back to make it right. That's on you and you bring out the correct order. That's how you learn not to make mistakes. The order is on the house . Super loud with kids running around . Every time I've left my ears are ringing. It seems staffed now but just workers waking around while the kitchen suffers with orders . Part of my last order I ordered some wings and they were the size of paper clips .

Great alternative for groups and families! Came here because the nearby In-N-Out was slammed and I'm glad we did. There were no lines and the food came out quickly. It's a standard counter-service setup: order first, then find a seat. What we ordered: Half Bird: This comes with 5 pieces of fried chicken and was the standout of the meal. Crispy and well-executed. Katsu Lookin': This sandwich features Namasu pickles, which are a bit sweeter than your standard pickle. Combined with the slaw, the whole sandwich felt a little too sweet for my liking. I really missed that sharp, vinegary kick to balance the richness of the chicken. Hand Cut Fries: Decent seasoning and a good side. The Sauces: Most of the sauces even the hot sauces lean quite sweet. The interior is massive with plenty of seating. The outdoor area is great for kids. we saw little ones playing with bubbles. Even the restrooms are located outdoors. However, there is a hand wash station located inside. Staff were friendly and the vibe over all is perfect for large gatherings

I've been wanting to try crack shack for awhile now, and I have been missing out! The food was exceptional. My wife got one of the salads and I got the Mexican poutine and a fried chicken sandwich. Everything was very delicious. The service was great and they provided water bowls for dogs. The restaurant is very cozy and it has a spectacular view from the patio. We went right at sunset and were treated to a wonderful sunset with our meal.

Loved it! Roomy interior. Service was outstanding. I ordered the Coop Deville and made it a combo (fries and a drink). Fries were on point. Super delicious with a crispiness that gave it the right texture. The sando was perfection! Crispy, juicy, tasty, spicy...so good! I'll be back cuz Crack Shack don't lack and all the rest are wack make you wanna yack.

    Family Flock

This is a great spot for fried chicken. We had the family flock that comes with half bird bone-in fried chicken, large fry, classic slaw, mini biscuits, chicken nuggets or tenders, and choice of 2 cookies. This is a very good deal for $60. They have several sauces to choose from and I really like that you have access to refill them. My favorite ones are the ranch and the sriracha 1000 island. It's a family friendly place with big chalkboards that the kids can draw on and keep busy. The staff is always very friendly and helpful.

My son and I spent the morning at Legoland and decided chicken sounded great for a late lunch. I ordered us each a Little Flock online. The order estimate was about a 20 minute wait. We arrived within 5 minutes and let them know we arrived. We were handed our cups and we sat down. Less than 5 minutes later they called my name, which I was shocked at, it was so quick. We ended up eating there and our food was very fresh. My son finally decided to give their ranch a try and loved it. The tenders are fantastic and some of the best fries anywhere. There are a decent amount of soft drink options and there was plenty of seating. The restaurant itself was very clean. There is plenty of parking at this location which is fantastic. That is my only issue with the Little Italy location. It was a great experience and we love The Crack Shack!

Service was out front and friendly. Get your drink and sauces on your way in to sit down to a pretty open air restaurant. A bunch of different seating options along the inside and outside of the building. Plenty of room for groups all around. Food was good portion size for the price. And very tasty. Be advised at the restrooms are outback around the corner. Will return again.

Can I get some chicken in this sandwich?

Came here and had the Firebird, the chicken is almost nonexistent and way overcooked. I've been here in the past and it seems the quality has gone down. Don't think I'd eat another chicken sandwich from here.

Order at front, seat yourself, food brought out to your table. Mostly large tables with benches, other tables are 4 seaters. Outside seating available and dog friendly. Senor croque sandwich was amazing. Bacon cooked well, bread was soft, egg was perfectly cooked for a sandwich; just messy enough! Firebird sandwich had a few good spicy bites.... Hubby got it without pickles. The fries were good, really good seasoning. Wish they were served hot... they were basically room temperature. Ranch and BBQ was delicious! We will return when in the area for sure

We were in the area and saw the Crack Shack on Yelp. The restaurant is very convenient because it is off the 5 freeway and offers plenty of parking. They have dine in seating as well as outdoors because they allow you to bring your pets! They have a water station for your dogs if they any as well . The staff were very friendly and it's a great place to eat with a group of friends as they have a bar inside as well. It seems like a quick service style restaurant as you order outside and are given a number, so the staff can find you when your food is ready. They offer unique sauces to go with your sandwich or fries. The sandwiches were really good and the fries were crispy how we like it and seasoned very well! I definitely want to come back and try their fried chicken meal.

We visited the crack shack on Saturday afternoon around 5pm for an early dinner with friends. There was no line and the ordering and finding the table was a breeze. Trying to eat a little healthier, I opted for the power bowl. The chicken al pastor had nice flavor. The veggies, quinoa and egg went well with the salsa verde. Al lin all, it was a nice bowl. Would I come back, maybe. The food was not bad. But I guess there's really no real reason to come here unless you want to eat fried chicken.

What a great branch! The Crack Shack in Encinitas is very spacious. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu includes sandwiches, signature fried chicken, bowls, small and big flock , fries, coleslaw, biscuits, nuggets, Mexican poutine, chicken oysters, seasonal special, kids meals and more. They also have various assortment of craft beer. I ordered the food at the front window then I picked my order up at the side. They had a long line but it went very fast. The restaurant was very clean and had relaxing vibes. They even have ceiling fans. I ordered; -Coop Devillle 5/5 Large fried chicken breast, cabbage slaw, pickles, lime mayo in artisan brioche. The chicken was crispy from outside, juicy and tender from inside. This was the best sandwich -Mini biscuits 5/5 They are buttery and flaky. -Mexican poutine 5/5 I ordered it to go, so they put the fries in a box and the other ingredients in separate boxes to assemble them at home.I appreciated the neatness. It was savory with generous amount of chicken and other toppings -Chicken nuggets 5/5 Were crispy, juicy and savory. We finished it before going to the hotel. There were ample parking. I am glad I stopped by The Crack Shack in Encinitas. It offers exceptional quality of chicken, cozy vibes, and great service.

Pre-pandemic, my favorite item on the menu was the delicious Deviled Eggs. Any chance they will return to the menu?

We went to the Encinitas location in April and they said they were not on the menu then.

    Is there brunch here?

We have an all-day menu with some of the best quality chicken and eggs (and bacon!) you'll find. Perfect for any meal, and we make a mean Bloody Mary to wash it all down ;-)

We are OPEN, Steve! We did temporarily close over the weekend for a deep clean of the space, but we re-opened this morning, and are offering outdoor dining, takeout, curbside ordering/pickup and delivery. I hope you'll visit us!

Can we order 1/2 and 1/2 on the Fried Chicken tossing flavors?

To me, the food was 3.5 to 4 stars. I ordered the thai and basil soda mocktail which was super refreshing and not too sweet! The spicy tuna and crispy rice was really good! I ordered the harvest bowl ($26) and added 3 oz. of steak for an additional $15. I didn't think that was a good value for roasted veggies and a small portion of steak. Some of the steak was extremely chewy as well. My friend said the hot honey chicken sandwich was good but there was a lot going on. I did take a bite of the molten butter cake while it was hot and fresh (I ordered it to-go) and the caramel really elevated the cake. Five stars for ambiance and service. The vibe here was smart casual. I did enjoy the aesthetic. Service was A+ with Emily. The manager came over a couple of times to make sure we were comfortable which was super sweet! My 40th birthday was coming up so we made a reservation. First off, it was on Father's Day so it was super busy. No parking! We went down to golf course to park. They had live music which I love, but music choice was just terrible. It sounded like a rave. When I got to the other side of the patio facing the farm, I thought we would not hear it well. Sadly, you could and the music from the restaurant was also playing ("highway to hell"-not kidding!) it was super over stimulating and uncomfortable to say the least. The music died down eventually, but the sun was in our faces for hours. It was hard to look up and we all had to rotate sides to take turns being blinded. A nice see thru shade would have been so helpful. Our waiter was nice but overly chill. He didn't show much emotion or care that we were there. It also took a long time to order and get food. The restaurant wasn't crazy packed btw, it was the event at the grass that caused no parking. Lastly, the food. We had 3 kiddos but no kids meals available. A spaghetti was offered, but we are gluten free. We had to purchase a $40 tri tip to share. The salad I ordered tasted like salt and arugula only...A few peach pieces here and there and the dressing was some sort of cheese that tasted like saltwater. I'm not a picky eater, but this was disappointing. The tri tips were of good size, but just okay. Potatoes were just okay too. I was given a complementary apple donut dessert (which was kind) but tasted no bueno. The jojos ice cream on top was bomb but the chutney underneath was not good and the donut was dry. Overall, highly disappointed with the vibe, taste, and service! I feel like it's suited best for a couple and to come on a quieter night would have made it a better experience. You have no choice but to sit on patio with a party of 7. Will not return - sadly!! (Our $450 bill was also shocking!) one glass of wine ordered...sigh

The lamb shank was outstanding. A large portion and very nicely seasoned. I also tried the scallops which were excellent and, of course, a much lighter meal than the lamb. Overall, an wonderful evening.

Their mocktail menu awesome. Not all people drink alcohol and sometimes people that don't still want a fun refreshing drink, so appreciate that. I ordered their upper east side, which was mint, cucumber, blue majik (whatever that is) soda and citrus. It was absolutely delicious. They had other really interesting sounding mocktails too, like there was actually thought put into a drink that didn't contain alcohol. I was visiting Carlsbad for the first time and wanted to check out as many restaurants as I could in my short time here so I just ordered something small to get the experience of this place. I chose the crudo: yellowtail, amarillo, charred tomato and guava. The dish was gorgeous, stunning, beautiful and tasted divine. Presentation so on point, flavors, freshness, just so yum. The bartender was so great as well, we made small talk and he told me that if I was into non-alcoholic drinks and fish that I should check out Jeune et Jolie next so I did just that. Appreciated the friendly conversation, great atmosphere and stellar food and drink. Will definitely come back here next time I have an opportunity to visit. Also, they have Baked Alaska on their menu. Imagine that around a cozy fire? Sign me up for that.

The cornbread was easily the best I've ever had -- warm, flavorful, and moist. I don't like cornbread because it's usually dry but my goodness, this cornbread was anything but. It was the best cornbread I've ever had.The broccoli was also the best I've ever had. I'm not a fan of broccoli, but the cooks charred the outside to get such a nice, crispy texture without it tasting burnt. Meanwhile the broccoli stem was cooked to contrast with the crunchy-like bites of the charred head. The market fish trout was good, granted trout was dry and isn't my favorite fish. But I ordered it to pay attention to the other facets of the dish: the puree and mushrooms that accompanied it were the stars. At least the trout skin was crispy. Campfire has a rustic, cabin feel to it (I thought the arrows on the walls were a cool touch). Servers were great and attentive. I'd come back to try other entrees.

I feel as though I can't say enough about the quality and consistency of their menu. Every time, we're greeted and seated immediately. It's always such a welcoming atmosphere (even when we bring our kids along from time to time) and I appreciate how efficient the staff is. Our popular choices are always the assorted bruschettas - I love that they switch up to offer new flavors and seasonal ingredients. Drinks and cocktails are always spot on. Couldn't recommend this location more for anyone who's looking for an enjoyable bite!

I obviously had to get the bruschetta board which comes with 4 different options. They had a philly cheesesteak chef special that day and it was definitely my favorite. The burrata bacon arugula tomato one was also really tasty, but I thought the mozzarella tomato basil and the smoked salmon and pesto ones fell a little short for me. I also got the half panini and half salad combo which I was very excited to see on the menu because I wanted to try so many different things! I got the caesar salad and the prosciutto & brie sando. It was good! I liked how the fig jam added sweetness to the prosciutto sandwich, but I wish they used less because it was a little too sweet. Great vibes inside too, and servers were nice!

The cornbread is hands-down the best and a must-order every single visit! So far I've had the Poke N Chips, BG Bones, and grilled cheese with tomato soup, and every single item has been flavorful, fresh, and perfectly prepared. It's rare to find a place where everything on the menu is consistently this good. The atmosphere is always great, the food is outstanding, and it's become one of my favorite spots in Encinitas. Whether you're stopping by for drinks, lunch, or dinner, you really can't go wrong. Highly recommend I'll definitely be back for more cornbread!

My burger had very little flavor. The meat was dry, it was still edible just wouldn't order it again. The Caesar salad was fantastic!!!! The lettuce was amazing and the dressing was absolutely delicious. My mother ordered the fig burger with a side of onion rings and instead she got fries and there was no goat cheese on the burger. However she still loved the burger. Also all the pictures online show that they have WAFFLE FRIES - THEY DO NOT. The service was good and they were helpful in fixing the issues with the onion rings. Ambiance is very loud being right on the 101 but it's not terrible.
