Great place to stay in Eastern UP. Clean and quiet rooms.Staff was very friendly and helpful.read more

There are not a lot of hotel and motel choices in this area, this really was our only choice. We…read moreheard it was recently purchased, so I'm sure there will be future updates coming. In the meantime, it is pricey for what it is like $171 for a king, in season. Very outdated, with peeling paper and chippy paint. But the rooms do have refrigerators, microwaves, and little coffee makers, always nice to have. Clean enough, though comforter duvet has lost all its body, so very floppy. Door locks are all digital, but, and this is a big one, there are no additional security locks on the door. Made me feel very vulnerable. Soap and lotion dispensers in the bathroom had nice smelling and not too heavily perfumed contents, which we appreciated. Floors are not carpeted, another plus. Bed was comfortable, we slept pretty well. Hallway shows age, but it is an older hotel. Continental breakfast was coffee, tea, bottled milk or juice, some refrigerated containers of yogurt, and unfortunately for me, some cute but very dry and inedible donuts. Friendly staff though. In a town with other options, this would be a two, maybe less. But it is acceptable as an only option. I hope the new owners will update this hotel, it could really be something special. If you're looking for an upscale or newer place to stay, plan ahead and book at one of the resorts or even Air B&Bs. Last minute like us, this is it. We would stay again in the same circumstances, just grab the coffee only.
