We stumbled into the soft opening of this place today by happenstance's and it was a wonderful experience. The staff informed us that it was actually their soft opening and not their actual opening night. We were told that if we didn't have a reservation we could still stay but would have to sit at the bar if seats were available. Seats were available and our entire meal was free! They had a smaller menu and only asked that we not order the same items just to give the cooks an opportunity to practice. We even got a dessert. Everything was free except the alcohol. I got the A Modle burger with fries and my husband got the Swiss mushroom burger and fries. We thought they both were delicious and made well. The service was amazing Cass at the bar was our server and the building was very pleasant. We will definitely go back to enjoy the patio and food. Happy to have this so close to where we live. Love the ambiance and decor, they hit it out of the park. Service wasn't great, it was my husband's birthday and I asked the waitress for a celebration and she forgot. Along with our drinks, my to go container, she was spaced out totally. Many of the other staff seemed unhappy and were walking around with a sour face. It didn't seem like a fun atmosphere. The food was just ok, the burgers were overcooked. We ordered medium and they were well done. They have some bugs to work out. Being a "Ford guy" in Indianapolis, we had to stop. Blown away by the decor, inside and out. Ford paraphernalia everywhere! The napkins are old style "oil rags" with hose clamps for napkin rings!! Usually places like this are cool to look at, but the food is "meh" at best. NOT HERE! The burnt ends brisket sandwich was some of the better BBQ I've had. The portions are huge! And the parm fries were well seasoned. The staff were great. Our server was super nice and super quick! If there was a down side, it's the noise. It's crazy loud! But you have to expect that with concrete floors, high ceilings with no insulation and brick walls. If you're in the mood for some automotive ambience and good food. This is the place! read more

Losing someone who made such a positive impact on the customer experience is a mistake that will likely cost this restaurant loyal customers. Went around noon on a Sunday, there was no wait. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, lots of interesting little details everywhere you looked. Our server was fantastic! Food was very good, came in large portions on big plates. Pulled pork Mac was delicious, very cheesy. The burnt ends sandwich was also good but very filling before I even got to the other half of the sandwich. 2 birthdays while we were there. Always fun watching everyone clap along. We are from out of town and found Ford's Garage when searching on-line. The menu looked good so I made reservations for our large group (30+ people). Upon arrival, we were promptly seated. Our waitress was incredible, especially considering the size of our group. The food was tasty, great quality and good value for the money. Everyone in our large party (teens and adults) was very happy with the atmosphere, food and service. We actually went back 3 nights later and had another great experience. This restaurant fits well with the car scene in Avon. Lots of Ford and other car memorabilia. The service was good. We were there on a Saturday around noon. It was very busy, but the wait was only 5 minutes and our drinks were delivered quickly. We ordered basic burgers and fries. We liked both, but they weren't anything special and were decent for the price. We saw the fish and chips and will try that when we go back. It looked great. All in all, it's a good place, but nothing really stood out. Lots of typical American fare with good serves and decent prices. read more

Whoever put this restaurant together did an absolutely superlative job of getting the automotive motif right. Mechanics's rags and hose clamps for napkins; that's creative. It is a roomy restaurant. The acoustics are live, so it is noisy. The staff is pleasant and efficient. Prices reflect the fact they have to pay Ford Motor Company for the right to use the logo. All that doesn't matter if the food isn't good. The food was good. However, the pulled pork and macaroni and cheese got my attention. At the assurance of the server that it was good, I decided to try it. It was good. However, they should have named it Macaroni and Cheese and Pulled Pork as the afterthought. There was precisely half the amount of pulled pork I would have expected for the given quantity of mac and cheese. So, they blew their chance. I won't be going back. read more

Already on our favorites rotation! Attentive staff, good vibes, and fun novelty with the full-size car over the bar and historic memorabilia throughout. We've stopped by a few times and it's always been BUSY, however we still snagged seats at the bar. Beer selection is great, especially among area pubs in Avon. There's also a few non-alcoholic drinks which is always appreciated. The bar has a built in ice rail so your drinks stay cold . The Motor City Kettle Chips appetizer is a generous portion for 2-4 to share. And believe it or not, the Chicken Chop Chop Salad is a winner (but I'd sub out the recommended ranch dressing). Salad at a bar? At Ford's Garage - yes! You'll definitely want to check out the new spot in Avon, but you may want to arrive early to get a seat. read more

Before sharing what went wrong during my most recent visit, I want to start with the positives. I've been to Ford's Garage about a dozen times since they opened, and until today, every experience has been very good. The ambiance has been a welcome addition to the Avon area, the staff and service have consistently been first class, and the food has reliably been above average. It quickly became one of our go-to spots when we're in this part of Indianapolis. Unfortunately, today was not that experience. The food itself was good, as it usually is. The issue was the customer service. When we entered the restaurant, there was a group of servers gathered around the podium counting receipts. It appeared they were trying to reconcile tips and determine table assignments, and we had to wait for that process to finish before being seated. In the past, there has always been someone readily available to greet and seat guests. While not a major issue on its own, it wasn't the level of professionalism we've come to expect from this establishment. The bigger issue occurred at the end of the meal. After finishing, we waited roughly 15 minutes for our server to return with the check. When it was finally dropped off, our card was already on the table. The server dropped off the bill and immediately left without taking our payment and did not return. After another 10 minutes, I went to the front desk to offer to pay. The front desk staff declined, stating that only the server could accept payment. This was frustrating and difficult to understand. Eventually, the front desk contacted the server, and after several more minutes, the server appeared and processed our payment. In the past, we've never experienced such long delays in paying or a refusal by the front desk to assist. Previously, servers were efficient and communicated clearly when they would be returning with the check. I am willing to give Ford's Garage--and that server--another chance. However, if this experience is repeated, I will leave another review read more

My wife and I along with a couple of our friends went to grab a bite at Ford's, we wanted to check it out since the line is generally out the door. Upon walking in, the hosts were clearly swamped and not exactly friendly but I understand it, it's busy. However, after taking my name down and waiting my turn, upon my table being ready, I went up, gave them my name for the table, and then all of the hosts just walked away and disappeared. Upon returning, they looked straight past me and were taking more names down for the walkup wait. I had to ask again to be seated after waiting a bit, again. Very odd. We were on our way to see a movie so we decided to sample some appetizers instead of ordering a full meal. To be quite frank, I'll bet you can skip most of these. We ordered the shrimp, the pretzels, and the curds, all of which were maybe a 5 or 6 out of 10. The curds seemed to have zero cheese and were just fried batter, the pretzels tasted of nothing, and the shrimp were the same as I've had plenty of places that sell "bang bang" shrimp or something to that effect. The service was also slow and the food came out at vastly different times. Our waitress was nice and professional though. The only other time I'd been here I ordered the chicken strips which were actually quite good so maybe they specialize more in entrees than apps. I'd give the chicken an 8/10. The bartender was nice and attentive without being pushy or intrusive. The ambience is very cool if you like things like Nascar and stock car racing. It does feel very much like a garage. However, the tables are in very high traffic areas and I felt very in the way and claustrophobic at times. This place is fine. I would not be waiting more than 15 minutes for it though. Had lunch with my Mom yesterday and was greeted by friendly staff. We have been to the northside one. It was ok. Got seated in a nice booth that I had requested. All the staff said hello with a smile. So nice to see in a world where service isn't there. It was as if they were trained this may not be your table this visit but next they will be. It was refreshing. The restaurant is super clean and the staff clearly like each other and the management is superb. Our server Gigi was very friendly and our food was delicious and hot. Presentation was gorgeous. Thank you to the kitchen staff. It felt so welcoming and other staff cleared our dishes on the way back to the kitchen. The training at this place was perfect. First visit to Fords Garage. We arrived before 5 p.m., were greeted promptly seated quickly, and received great service throughout the meal. The atmosphere is casual - a sports bar feel but family-friendly. We ordered two burgers. One was requested well-done but arrived medium-rare and had to be sent back. In less than two minutes, a replacement appeared - well-done this time, but it tasted and appeared as if it had been sitting in the galley for a while. Nothing was hot or particularlv fresh, and both burgers lacked flavor. The fries were lukewarm though the pretzels and dips were a bright spot - hot, fresh, and tasty My cocktail was very good, and the iced tea was just okay. Our server was friendlv and attentive. and when we asked what the restaurant is known for, we were told the "3 B's" - beer, burgers, and batter? Unfortunately, our experience didn't live up to that description. For the price, there are plenty of other spots in town serving better burgers with better flavor and value. The parking lot was full but had no problems finding parking. Easy drop off and pickup area for Handicap access. Rest rooms were handicap accessible. Having had a pleasant experience at the far North-side location, we anticipated having a good experience at the new Avon location on 8/6/25 around 5:20 pm. We were seated right away at a table near the bar. After waiting a few minutes, someone took our drink orders only to be followed by someone a few minutes later introducing herself & wanting to take our drink order. We informed her the order had already been taken. She looked puzzled, apologized for the mix-up & left. We received our drinks, placed our orders and attempted to chit-chat about the decor & how much bigger (& louder) the space seemed than when it was the former O'Charleys. After a rather lengthy, (but reasonable I suppose for how busy the restaurant was) wait, food arrived. My husbands order, the Fords Signature Burger & tots was correct. Mine however, which was supposed to have been the BBQ Brisket Burger with jalapeño creamed corn, was not. I was presented with a Bison Burger & fries. We noted the mistake immediately & was told the correct order would be fired immediately. I again waited a lengthy period - probably another 25 mins (during which my husband finished his meal ) before I was presented with a Brisket Burger which was correct, but again with fries on the side instead of the jalapeño creamed corn I ordered. We again noted the mistake & the waitress muttered an apology & went back to the kitchen. A few bites into my burger, I was presented with a luke warm crock of creamed corn. The food was just ok; burgers were dry, brisket was only a cpl of cubes atop the burger, as stated previously, my corn was barely warm & we were never offered drink refills. Hopefully for the restaurant and our waitress, they were both just having a very off night. It would hurt my feelings to think I was just repeatedly ignored and undervalued as a customer! We'll give it another try at some point, but won't be in any great rush. It would have been nice to have been offered a manager visit & apology at the table, a compensatory desert perhaps or a discount on our bill. I'm not accustomed to spending upwards of 1.5 hours for a burger especially when I can't even have a relaxing conversation at the end of the day with my partner due to the noise level & nonstop birthday accolades (at least 4 while we were there). read more
