Barringer's is living history for Indy. Their menu provides the storied history of this quintessentially midwestern bar, dating back to 1879! My trivia group comes here on Mondays, which probably draws a decent crowd. Still, we always get quick and friendly service from Bridge and always a great dinner. Entrees are typically under $10 which is a rarity these days. You get your standard bar food here, and they have a pretty decent bacon-wrapped chili cheese dog. Holy. Soul. Food. They have their own parking on the north side of the building. I've been here pretty regularly as of late, and I plan on keeping it that way! Hopefully I'll even be able to eat my way through the menu!

Stopped in for a work happy hour, it's a great location, very friendly staff. They have a nice selection of drinks! Beer and cocktails. We sat at a nice big table, and enjoyed music and conversation. We also got food, the pizza was so tasty! We also had onion rings and cheese curds, both were also good. Great place on the southside! Check them out if you are in the area.

Barringer's was a great experience. It was recommended to us by our friend's older brother and we had a blast. Ate a ton of food, affordable beer pitchers, and the size of the food is massive. I ate two pizzas and ordered wings and a sandwich and I was not ready. I definitely ate the food the next day! Also, the vibe of the place is really cool. Especially that they've been open since 1870. The backroom has shuffle board, darts, and billiards. Plus TVs for March madness. Totally great time!

This is my favorite dive bar in Indy. The service is quick and the servers are great to banter with. The prices there are by far the most affordable in the city and the food always tastes great. Try the dessert pizza if you get the chance. Great to split with a small group.

    Cheese curds!!! So good!!

This was the first time we have went there and it was tremendous! The tenderloin was thick but it a great way! Super tender, juicy, and flavorful! The onion rings were crispy and delish! Can't go wrong with their homemade cheese curds that melt in your mouth. The bar itself had ab old tavern vibe and super cool inside. The band was great but very loud!!

Came here during Thanksgiving dinner, we were glad that they were open and even had Karaoke going on We discovered this place during "take-out only during pandemic" and glad to have found this place We love the pizza! It was really great The service was awesome and thankful for the staff that chose to work during the holiday!

    A very sad steak sandwich

I've been here a few times now for lunch. Standard tavern/bar food. Order the wings or tenderloin or pizza. I got the saddest steak sandwich last time so I will be avoiding that in the future. Staff is great. Great prices. Check 'em out.

We started with the Angry Mac & Cheese, which we had never tried before, and wow -- it was phenomenal. The homemade cheese sauce was rich, creamy, and perfectly smooth without separating. The andouille sausage and shrimp were cooked beautifully, and the cream sauce had incredible flavor with just the right subtle hint of spice. Absolutely perfect comfort food with an elevated twist. We sat outside on the patio enjoying the beautiful weather during Indy 500 race week, and the atmosphere could not have been better. Every table around us was full of people laughing, enjoying lunch, and soaking in the energy of the city. It was one of those perfect Indianapolis afternoons. For our mains, we both ordered the Cobb salad -- one with grilled chicken and one with fried chicken -- and both were outstanding. I still can't believe how large the "small" salads are! Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and the homemade ranch dressing was absolutely delicious. The service, as always, was top-notch. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. From start to finish, it was such a fantastic lunch and overall experience. We loved every minute of it and cannot wait to come back!

The hamburger patty was thick and juicy and cooked the way I'd prepare it myself. Portions were more than ample. After finishing my "feast" it was time for dessert, a Root Beer float, served in a tall larger glass with an ample portion of ice cream. I would suggest ordering it for two...it's that big. All enjoyed their burgers and we're looking forward to returning next year. * I purposely didn't review the other meals served, as they will be doing their own Yelp reviews.

There's a bit of grunge aesthetic too. I opted for the patio seating on the nice day that I visited. Service worked pretty quickly and friendly. I got a mocktail to start that was cranberry, orange, and pineapple juice. It was pretty yummy. I was far more impressed by the foooood! My partner and I split a burger and Mac and cheese. The size small was $9 and was honestly huge. It was definitely enough food for two. The burger we got was also a good size, and came with a lot of shoestring onion on top. The burger was $18 but it's a 10 oz patty which is practically a better deal than most other burgers out there. I'll be back again sometime for sure!

Convenient location. Zero proof drinks. There were some reviews about long wait times, non-toasted buns and the cost but the write up of the place itself gave me nostalgia vibes for a place called Cobra Burger in Richmond, VA so I had to try my luck. I really wanted to love this place, as I've not found anything like Cobra Burger here in Indy. When we arrived, around 6:45p on a Thursday, the patio had a good amount of people, but inside was pretty empty apart from the bar. We sat at a two top in the bar area. The music was at a pretty low volume, especially considering the amount of reviews that said otherwise. Our server was also bartender, so it initially took her a couple of minutes to come over, which is understandable. She took our order for drinks and then after bringing them back for the food. She was nice and provided good service although juggling tables and the bar, plus she was also pregnant. It took a very long time for us to get our food (close to an hour), despite three guys working the line in the kitchen, banging out burger after burger. The food arrived, hot and correct. Both my husband and I were disappointed that the reviews were right and the burger buns were not toasted. Non-toasted burger buns actually make the burgers harder to eat and less enjoyable. My burger was decent for a non-handmade vegan option; for the price my expectation is amor sophisticated/handmade creative one, but I am thankful that they had a vegan option at all. My husband thought his burger was just okay and that he's had better ones around Indy, so we probably won't be dining here again. For the size of the burger, they should bring you ample napkins without having to ask because it is very messy trying to eat them. For two burgers with fries, one small mac & cheese, and three beers (one regular and two nonalcoholic) before tip the bill was over $80. Now, if the food was top-tier fantastic, I would say fine but being that it was more middle of the road it's a bit pricey.

To my surprise, we walked in and someone who I'm assuming is the manager looks our way and says to the hostess that they're only doing takeout. He clearly made that decision as we walked in. The dining room was empty except one couple who hadn't received their food yet. I could understand if it were 30 mins before, but an hour means you should just close at 9 pm everyday. A couple walked in minutes after us and were also given this information, but decided to leave instead of order. I did, however, order for my son since I opted out and he was looking forward to eating here. This was not how I expected to celebrate my son's birthday but was forced to even though they had roughly eight people "working" and were unable to accommodate three. This really left a feeling of disdain that I can't shake. I have no desire to patronize this establishment in the future as I was not welcomed during business hours this time. Hopefully this is a learning experience and they'll choose to service customers within reason.
