Our building had a plumbing emergency yesterday with the rain, and Luis showed up at less than 45 minutes later. We have subterranean garages, and it was clear that the pump had failed, as we had a giant pool of water within 2 hours of rain that was quickly encroaching the garages. Luis showed up, checked the electrical system and determined it was working. He noticed that the pump was bubbling, and suggested that it might have become disconnected from the drain pipe. He gave us a quote, and offered to temporarily pump out the water to avoid damage to the garages. However, when we mentioned the pump was new, he was honest and suggested that it was likely under warranty and that the company that installed it should manage the issue. He waited for a few minutes while I called the previous company, who sent a technician later in the day and found that Luis's assessment (disconnected pump) was correct. We had a slow draining kitchen sink drain. It was frequently backing up. The first visit they came and snaked it out for us. It improved but the problem persisted about a month or so later. We ended up having to replace about 40-50 feet of old outdated pipes under our house. They removed the original clogged, rusted galvanized pipes and replaced them with new ABS drain line up to current plumbing codes. The whole job only took about a day and a half. The crew was there on time and very professional. We are pleased with the results. They also offered to come back and check on the rest of our lines with a camera and monitor it for future work. Experience with Luis and Milton was great! We had a weird shower temperature/pressure issue that required a good amount of work. After the job, a cartridge defect lead to a small lingering drip/leak from the shower head. They came back and fixed the issue promptly, free of charge. very rude and unprofessional. Our mainline drain was clogged, which made toilets overflow. Ford's plumbing gave us an appointment, charged us and stopped by two days after the the incident and said they won't do anything because the drain is working right now! We had another plumber run a snake through the line as a bandaid solution but they said it will get clogged again unless they use hydro-jet. I was given a two-hour service window and planned my entire day around it. Instead of arriving at a reasonable time within that window, the technician showed up literally three minutes before the window ended. By that point, I had been stuck at home all day waiting. What made this even more frustrating is that I had to call them to inquire about the status, which I don't believe I should have had to do. I contacted the company the day before, and they offered me this service window. Basic communication or a proactive update should not require the customer to chase the company down. Despite all of this, I was still charged $196, as if my time and inconvenience had no value. To add to that, I was asked for my email address so a receipt could be sent to me -- and I still have not received it. That lack of follow-through only adds to the frustration. I don't like being at the mercy of service providers, and situations like this make it feel intentional. Customers are given wide windows, forced to wait around, and then expected to accept last-minute arrivals with no accountability. In my opinion, companies know people don't really have a choice in these situations, and that imbalance shows in how little respect is given to the customer's time. The work itself was fine, but the experience matters. If you're going to charge premium prices, there needs to be accountability, communication, and follow-through -- not silence, delays, and customers left waiting all day. read more

We had a faulty emergency shut-off valve for our gas and didn't have any heat or hot water in the house. Ford's gave us by far the best price for the work than other businesses we called and were able to come first thing Monday. I had a leak in front of my house that was flooding the valve box and eroding the soil. I called a few companies that were trying to charge crazy prices and replace the entire section that was leaking. I was lucky enough to find fords plumbing. Not only was the guy they sent professional he was actually able to fix the leak without replacing the entire pipe and the icing on the cake was that it was nowhere near the price I would of had to pay from all my other quotes. Warning: Dishonest Company - Prioritizes Sales Over Integrity I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with this company. Their entire business model seems to revolve around upselling and scamming customers rather than providing honest service. They train their sales techs to push false claims--like telling homeowners they have a gas leak when there isn't one--just to scare them into expensive repairs or upgrades. They've even been known to intentionally tamper with the inside of your piping to create more problems and justify additional charges. It's all about maximizing profit, not customer safety or service. The leadership is practically nonexistent. The owners are never around, and the company is run by someone who acts like she knows everything but refuses to listen to real concerns. Customer service? Forget it. Once they get your money, you're just another number. I truly wish I could post all the proof I have so people could see for themselves how crooked this company really is. If you value honesty and transparency, look elsewhere. Don't fall into the trap like I did. read more

Oscar and Francisco are amazing! They are the dynamic duo. I had to have the knobs on my tub replaced due to the corrosion that yielded a health hazard/risk. After having them replaced, that the valves needed to be were loose which caused leaks. Imagine the tub overflowing!? There are some things that you don't know that you don't know. We had a clogged kitchen sink drain on a Saturday night. We tried a diy snake, but realized there was no clean out under the sink. We called Ford's and Luis called us back right away. Over the phone, he diagnosed the problem, and he and his partner Christian were able to unclog the drain and reroute/replace the p-trap, and in 45 minutes the problem was fixed. We were very happy with Ford's prompt service, speedy resolution of the problem and reasonable prices. Although I'm the last person to ever post an online review, I'm happy to make an exception for Luis at Ford's Plumbing.  Previously I had been using the same family owned plumbing company for over 20 years.  But when they sold their company, it was time for a change.  I am pleased to say that everything that this good about a small independent business can be found at Ford's Plumbing.  They are consistently on time, or their office is calling with an updated arrival time.  They do not try to "over sell", and if any job needs a second look, they are back quickly to fix the issue.  You might find another company that is less expensive, but you won't find another company that is better or faster. I am a relic of the 20th Century and expect to keep my service vendors for decades rather than years.  I can confidently recommend Ford's Plumbing and feel confident that they will be my last plumber. read more

Highly recommended. If you are looking for the absolute cheapest plumber in Los Angeles, you can stop reading here. But I imagine if you are a homeowner, "cheap" isn't your top priority. I imagine you'd rather pay a small premium to have the job done right by true professionals. For us it was someone who - first and foremost - did fantastic work and treated the job as if they were working on their own home. And we got that from Ford's. When we moved into our house, we knew there was a mishmash of piping underneath. Galvanized mixed with copper supply lines, and ABS mixed with cast iron and clay sewer lines. Finally after several backups in our drain (that cost $250 each to clear), as well as massively reduced water pressure (and our fixtures getting clogged and ruined) due to the galvanized corrosion, we knew we had to basically re-plumb our whole house. It was a major job. While some people that came out to give an estimate didn't even crawl under the home, Luis (who came out for the original bid) climbed under and took photos and measurements. Then Robert the owner came back and worked with us for over an hour to create a comprehensive plan that not only fixed our current issues but planned ahead for future upgrades that we want to do to our house, which include moving the kitchen to the rear of the house, and adding a bathroom. We also added a whole-house water treatment system, added a pressure regulator at the street, and epoxy-lined the sewer drain all the way out to the street connection. Robert and his team were nice people, great communicators, easy to work with, honest, and fair. Upon completion of the water supply line replacement, they also went through every fixture in the house to make sure they all were working properly, and they didn't leave until everything was right. They even stayed late on the 6th day of work (a weekend) to finish the job so we could take shower that night. It was much appreciated. Their time estimate was also accurate. They said 8 days and it took 8 days. It was great to be able to trust the people working on our house to do it the right way and it was reassuring to have the same people that came out to give the estimates be the same ones doing the work (too many places have a great salesman come out to give the bid, and then send some random person back to do the work). We still have to replace our hot water heater and add some piping when we remodel our kitchen -- and we'll definitely be giving Robert and Ford's plumbing a call for that job. read more

I called in Friday because I the gas company turned off my gas. I spoke to Cynthia who was very nice and she was able to get me scheduled in right away. The technician came out and was very knowledgeable and explained step by step what would need to be done. He even spoke to the office manager Marly who was able to alleviate a couple concerns I had.
