I had my gallbladder removed on 26th of this month at Forest surgery center. It was totally a nightmare as surgery itself sounds scary, but the nurses especially a nurse name David if I have not mistaken by his name was extremely sweet. He made me so comfortable even with inserting the IV for saline and also taking some test, that I didn't even feel a bit of pain, he was very gentle. He even made it sure that I didn't have any trauma seeing needles. After I got changed for my surgery I lied down on the assigned bed the nurse did few things like providing me with my warm air. I met with another nurse who very sweet to me had short blond hair, she gave me a pair of anti blood clot pumps for my legs just before my surgery. There after I was taken to the surgery room and took a very good care of me. After that I received my anesthesia and my surgery was done well by Dr. Kim. After all that I could only remember that is I was home just 3 hrs after my surgery and every one took an amazing care for me. My husband said that he brought my 5yr old daughter from school to pick me up from hospital as I was already in the recovery hut she was not allowed to enter as she was a child so my husband waited outside the hospital in the garage at that time I was taken out with gentle care by another nurse and she made me very comfortable. Hands down the worst care and experience ever! Very unprofessional, as compared to others in the area. Dated facility, substandard staff and doctors who are partners here! All competent surgery centers use a hot air heating device with a disposable pad to distribute the warm air keeping the patient warm in the pre-opp area. This place only stuck the tube blowing like warm air under an open we've blanket with No distribution pad making it useless. It seems the cost of the disposable pad is more that the place wishes to spend to keep their bottom dollar up. Stay away! read more

A CUT above the rest. (And above my coconuts) I like the exterior elevator that leads right to the small waiting room on the second floor. Instead of being handed a clipboard, a nice lady had me fill out forms at a sit down window one at a time as she explained them all. She kept warning me not to put down the pen because more forms were coming. She said it a few times. I still have the pen. The forms basically said, "we have the right to your next born son if your insurance doesn't pay us" and "you still have to pay if you don't wake up", etc. As for for the surgery experience, everyone was super nice. They even included a haircut for free. They gave me a Brazilian. No, actually she was German. The doctor signed my leg. It smeared before I could read it. It either said, "Stay cool. Have a good summer", "cut here---}" or "reminder to get co-pay before pushing back his intestines". I can't be sure. Everyone made sure I was comfortable before shoving a tube down my throat, cutting me open with a knife, dissecting my tissues, and pushing back my guts and sewing them up. My friendly and attentive anesthesiologist even texted me before the surgery in case I had any questions. To be honest the only question was if I was going to get charged for the text. (I texted back "new phone who dis" just in case). He was very informative in person, though a little boring as he put me to sleep. read more

Had Dr Zare do a hernia surgery a couple days ago at Forest Surgery Center. Entrance via a well worn elevator was the only unimpressive part. The surgery center was clean, organized, staff experienced, competent and friendly. Good place. Good staff. A to Z things went smooth and well. Arrived at 6am. Surgery at 7:30am. Done by 9am. No complications other than the gas used in anesthesia gave me a cough and congested lungs afterward. I am still coughing up thick yellow mucus two days later. The hernia surgery itself is great...no complications, no pain, no redness, no swelling. (cough) read more

Before I went in today I had read some negative reviews from my fellow reviewers, all I can say is my experience was beyond STELLAR!!! Erica, the receptionist Who is sweet and jovial signed me in "she made me feel at ease by laughing at corny jokes " and was very professional and at the same time light hearted. I so sorry that I forgot the RNs and nurses aides names as they were so nice and showed me nothing but care and kindness. A couple things they did for me was give me an EKG before my surgery and they gave me a pair of anti blood clot pumps for my legs to take home "see pictures" One reviewer wrote that nurses rushed them out of there to early after the receiving anesthesia. Not the case with me, they woke me up and asked if I needed more time, the nurse even asked if I felt nauseous to which I replied yes to both." Her response was how much time do you think you will need? I said 20 min. Her response "no problem" I actually stayed an extra 40 minutes!! As I was Super nauseous and the nurse did all kinds of things to help me get over that "blowing cold air on me and putting a cold compress on my neck which really helped" Bottom line: if you are wondering or unsure about Forest Surgery center, I personally would not bat an eye to use them again. my husband checked me in and left me there for surgery; he was called later that night to pick me up. I was under at 9am and was not brought too until 5pm. i heard them calling me vulgar names as i was coming too and both my body and mouth had been several damaged in what appeared to be a sexual nature. Do they all people to do sexual things to bodies when they are out? I know my surgery was only an hour and a half long. I will never go back there. read more

I had my first ever surgery done there this past Wednesday. I was nervous but all of the nurse's calmness, composure and professionalism gave me a sense of calm that I wasn't expecting. Dr. Rustad was fantastic in her pre-surgery explanation and post surgery assistance with questions I had in regards to how I go about filing for LOA and disability through EDD. All in all, a great team and facility. Though I never hope to need surgery again, if I needed it again I would hope to go back here. read more

I had my gall bladder removal surgery here . Center is grt. Front dest ppl are kind and helpful Nurse are very compasstionate and they understand your fear. I went at 10.30 am to the center by 11I was done with my paperwork. Then nurse took me inside , did some test , change the clothes , put iv etc. One by one doctor , anesthisalogist and physician came over and talk about the procedure and asked me if i have any doubt . 12.30 I was in OT and 12.35 I was given the anthesia. Operation was done by 1.20 pm. I was awake by 2.30 pm but in pain doctor gave me pain medicine. Discharged at 3.30 pm Overall everything went smooth and fine read more

Clean, lots of accessible parking, friendly staff, and skilled doctors- now that's what I call a winner. Originally referred to this clinic by Dr. Fung, my mom recently underwent cataracts surgery at this venue. She was so nervous...bless her little heart. Blame her elevated nerves on her silly daughter, but I accidentally drove her to the wrong hospital across the street. Luckily, I made her tell me a funny story, and she forgot her fear. Upon entering, I noticed we were headed to the second floor. Luckily for her, we jumped on the elevator and entered a lobby that resembled some kinda plastic surgery office in Beverly Hills(minus the plastics.) We were greeted with smiles, beautiful hard wood floors, a flat screen TV's, beautiful flowers, and comfy sofa's. Receptionist was very friendly and she put us at ease. Putting my mother at ease was the the them of the day. Everyone kept complementing her pink socks, and that calmed her down. She was petrified by surgery, but luckily everyone reassured her and made her feel better. I translated for her...and they took her away. Hour later, I was called with a "surgery is over, and your mom did great!" Big sigh of relief. When I arrived, my mom looked like Martin Scorsese with big glasses. The staff loaded her in a wheel chair, and walked us down to the car. Everyone was great...and I highly recommend this facility. Very nice people make nerves truly go away! read more

I have never had surgery before so I didn't know what to expect but I had an AMAZING experience with this surgery center. I went in for hyprocure, an implant surgery for flat feet with Dr. Richard Abe. I did my left foot for this surgery. So, the care from the surgery center started even before my surgery - I got a phone call a week in advance confirming my copay, then I got a call from them the day before with reminders about not eating/drinking the night before, and all directions (no contacts, makeup, wear loose clothing, etc). And then I also got a call from my anesthesiologist the night before asking if I had any questions about the operation. I felt so well taken care of even before the first time I stepped into the surgery center. On the day of, I got to the center 1.5 hours before the surgery, we filled out the paperwork real quick and in about 10 min my husband and I were taken to the back where I got in my bed/gurny. Awesome things to note: - I got an IV for water since they knew I was dehydrated not drinking anything since 10pm the night before (my surgery was 1230pm). I told my hubs I wished I had one of these at work every day so I wouldn't forget to drink enough water each day lol.. - Maybe I'm a lil out of date but the IV they used was actually NOT a metal needle, but they used some plastic needle so that I could have better - They have these hoses that they put into your blanket that blow warm air to keep you nice n toasty. This was definitely awesome! - Every nurse there was super nice and accommodating - in the time before my surgery I probably talked with 4 different nurses who kept asking if I had any questions and if I needed anything. - Lastly the anesthesiologist came by and told us exactly what would be done and took any last questions. *TIP* - there's some waiting to do during this time, so bring your phone or a magazine to keep yourself busy. It's easy to get nervous sitting there on your bed thinking about the surgery ahead, so good to keep your mind off of it :) I've never been given anesthesia but let me just say that it worked super fast! I had it through my IV drip and the moment I felt it, I remember saying, "I feel it now!" and then I was out. The next thing I knew I was waking up to my Dr. in the recovery room telling me my surgery went great. My aftercare nurse was awesome too - she literally checked my vitals 10x within 30 minutes in order to make sure I was recovering Ok. I got an apple juice and when my husband came he helped me into my clothes and another nurse wheeled me to the car in a wheelchair. Overall I had such a great experience here! Staff/Nurses were amazing and super attentive. I'll be back again next month to have my other foot done, and I feel so much more at ease now knowing how well I'll be taken care of. I've had two surgeries here, last one being two weeks ago. This place was the first place I ever had any surgery done. I'm terrified of hospitals and putting me at ease in these situations is very difficult. However, the nurses in this surgery center is just amazing. So is the anesthesiologist! When realizing how scared I was, the nurses did a great job of distracting me in every possible way to ensure I was focused on something else. At no point did I experience any discomfort with the IV, anesthesia, or nerve block needle. They even gave me a "happy" pill before doing anything else. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to have the same nurse prepping me for surgery both times. I was very happy to see her for my last surgery as she did such a fabulous job for my first surgery. I think her name is Mahasti. Such a great personality and very funny. She made me laugh all the time and made me feel at ease. That was a big help for me in order to deal with my anxiety before surgery. She did an amazing job with the IV as I didn't feel anything. I know there was a team of nurses and doctors and they were all great! Forever thankful for your great care. Front office staff was also very nice, helpful, and efficient. My experience is similar to Amy F's. I had a procedure in 2010 for which they billed $14k to my insurance. Insurance allowed $10k. The surgery center presented me a bill for the rest and proposed a "settlement" of about $600. I called my insurance to see if I really owed that, and they said the surgery center was not allowed to bill me. Insurance called them and it was apparently done (years ago). Last week I received a similar bill. I called my insurance again and they re-iterated that I owe nothing. They are taking it up with Forest. The other issue here is that my procedure was basically a cortisone shot for back pain, which is often performed in a doctor's office for around $500. They added a lot of baggage around it including sedation and some sort of imaging which the insurance company allows but in practice seems quite quite unnecessary. I would not trust this place to trim my nails. read more

The nurses and staff here were so caring and sweet. I got nervous and began to cry as they were prepping me and they rubbed my arm and took my head and gave me space and time to settle down and take some calming medication. They made sure that my pain was minimal throughout recovery and were very attentive. My nurse was very explanatory about what we needed to do next and things to watch out for. I did not feel pushed or rushed to get out in any way. They also had these amazing machines called "Bair Paws" that go under your blanket to pump in air and keep you warm. I was physically comfortable my entire stay that day. The only minus one star is the front desk staff who were very sweet girls but not very knowledgeable. My paperwork had several errors and they could not explain why the wrong doctor was listed and needed to remain listed on my paperwork. I was unable to speak with the doctors before surgery to clarify why this needed to be done, but I do feel the front desk should know the answer to this, especially since I had to sign stating that everything was correct before they would proceed with the surgery. read more

Surgery is never a pleasant experience, but I was fortunate enough to have my outpatient surgery here. After all the sports and rigorous exercise, I completely ruptured my Achilles tendon and surgery was required. I'm not going to lie, I was a bit nervous since this was my first major injury. But from the moment I walked in, my nerves loosened up. The lobby was bright and open and very well decorated. The receptionist greeted me nicely and then I went through the standard paperwork protocol. After waiting a few minutes, I was called in. After a quick nervous pee, I changed into a gown. The patient room is shared but everyone was courteous about noise levels. The nurses were extremely attentive to me and they definitely helped me relax. The last thing I remember was hearing a nurse hum Black Sabbath's "Iron Man", then hearing Bob Marley on the sound system with one of the nurses sharing a pretty cool personal story about Bob Marley. When I came to a couple hours later, I hear the same humming. The surgery was successful and a nurse escorted back to my ride since I was still feeling a bit loopy. It sucked getting injured, have surgery and be confined in a cast, but everyone and everything at Forest Surgery put a bright spot in my recovery. read more

I would avoid this place if you have the option of scheduling elsewhere. Showed up an hour early for an appointment only to have them push it back and back and back, never explaining why only just to say they are so busy. When my mom was finally taken back they didn't even have a bed for her, so they clearly care so little about patients and so much about money that they book more patients than they have room for and just push your appointment back in order to squeeze more and more people in. It is a factory atmosphere not one of care or compassion. On top of all this the facility looked in disrepair with no signs showing where the entrance is from the parking lot, dirty old paper signs posted and angled all over the halls, scuff marks and peeled paint all over the building and especially at the reception desk...all I can say is by the time we reached the desk it was already obvious to me we were about to have a bad experience. read more

I was not happy with my experience at this facility. In January of 2009, I was referred by my primary doctor to this center for a routine surgery. I was told via my doctor and by Forest Surgical Center that my procedure would be covered 100%, and that I would have no out-of-pocket expenses. Months later, I received a $700 bill for anesthesia from this surgery. Apparently, this facility is not covered by very many insurance plans. The doctors contract with the facility, and then they write off the costs if the insurance company refuses to pay. This is what they did in my case as well, they wrote off the costs. Now, my insurance only sees that I went to an out-of-network facility and will not cover the separate billing for anesthesia. This place did not inform us that it was not covered by my insurance. I was led to believe that it was, which was very deceitful of them. I should have been told from the start that it was not covered and was out of network, AND that they just write off the costs in the case that the insurance does not offer to pay. I would have never went to this facility if I knew this. This facility may be nice and clean, but their policies stink. They are deceitful, and I will be calling the Better Business Bureau to inform them of this incident. read more

I had surgery here and all of the nurses were very sweet and friendly but I felt like the anesthesiologist(he wears glasses) was kind of rude to me and did not like me for some reason. I was nervous and I asked him like 2-3 questions and he just kept ignoring me :/ For an example, I asked him if putting the IV in my hand was going to hurt really bad and he just stuck the needle in my hand. I have no idea why he treated me like this but that was the only bad experience I had here. Stephanie was very amazing and knowledgeable as well as the rest of the staff though. read more

Just say no. No signage to determine where you are or how to not go up steps (with knee surgery planned). Confused admin people interrupting sign-in to help other staff. Dirty waiting room with loud TV. More importantly, way too many staff without introductions or what they were going to do. Was put-down for writing my name on the "personals" bag. Everyone seemed "just doing my job" and definitely did not really care. Threw me into crutches without telling me how to get downstairs. Did not give food or drink after anesthesia (a standard to get you up and running). Call the next day also robot-like. Charged $2400 -- "oh I miscalculated" -- $1900 for an additional procedure. Had surgery here and the staff was really nice. They were very attentive and the Anesthesiologist was fantastic. I usually don't come out of anesthesia very well. So much that I would rather be awake then be put to sleep. LOL. But whatever they used was wonderful. No issues. My boyfriend parked the car slightly down the street and the nurse had no problem wheeling me all the way down the street after my surgery. The place is small and basic. But I don't need bells and whistles. I need qualified staff who care. I also liked that it was directly across the street from a major hospital so if something crazy happened I would be very close to a higher level of care. Which would have been way over board for this little procedure. But again reassuring that it was there "just in case". I would have surgery here again if I had to. read more

This was my family's second surgery at Forest and this time it was my son and everything went very smoothly. We were very nervous, however, everyone put us right at ease. They called me the day before to tell us how much our insurance company was going to pay and how much we would have to pay. When I told them that my husband and I both had insurance and that I would rather wait to see what the insurance company paid, they said that was fine and didn't pressure me to pay right away. The anesthesiologist also called the night before and talked to me to tell me what to expect the next day. The staff was so great with my son who is only 5 and had him laughing. After the surgery he was scared and cried, but the nurses were so good to him and also really nice to me because it made me sad to see him crying. The next day the nurses called to see how my son was feeling and I thought that was very nice. Overall, they provided excellent care for both my son and for me and my husband. I told my son's doctor that he made a great choice in doing the surgery Forest Surgery. I would definitely recommend this surgery center and if I ever need surgery will insist on Forest Surgery! read more

Would put negative if possible. Just got a bill from them for a procedure my husband had done at Forest back in 2010. The only reason they say I owe them money is because of a fraud scam they were running back then where doctors would get a kickback if they sent their patients to Forest. Forest would then bill way more than the market rate to the patient's insurance company. My insurance refused to pay and on top of that turns out Forest wasn't in my network. No one from the doctor, to the staff at Forest ever said anything about it being an out of network facility. The difference between what Forest billed my insurance and what they paid was about $80,000 and Forest nagged me for a while asking me to beg my insurance to pay them or that they would come after me. Eventually, they admitted they weren't going to hold me liable because they had acted as if they were in network and I thought everything was all taken care of. Fast forward to today and get a bill from them for $80,000 for which they are willing to settle for $2,500. Uh, no thanks, first of all you told me 6 years ago my account was clear, and second of all, the statute of limitations for debts is 4 years and if I pay $2,500 now it will reopen that old debt and they can go after me for the $80k again. So I call them up and tell them I'm not paying. Oops they say, it was a mistake and my account really is clear. This time I tell them to send me a letter to that effect. I guess we'll see, pretty sure they were fishing to reopen that debt given they just lost a $34 million case of fraud with Aetna. So while the treatment my husband received was fine MAKE SURE YOUR INSURANCE WILL COVER THIS FACILITY AND DO NOT TRUST FOREST TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH ABOUT IT. read more

My mother had a colonoscopy here and we were nervous coming in. However let me tell you we have never been so well cared for. As you walk in you feel like you are walking to the nordstroms of all surgery centers. It is simply beautiful and peaceful. My mother only speaks mandarin and she appreciated the time the wonderful Mexican Nurse took to explain every single detail. We also appreciated the fact that when she couldn't get an IV she did not continue to poke her instead she called her manager and she got it on the first try. WOW!!! I have to say, this center is the best!!! I recently had a procedure done at the center (about two weeks ago) and I honestly can say they were the best. From the begining, I was treated like a king. The front desk staff was great. I was taken in right away. I have never felt so loved in my life. I really recommend anyone that needs out-patient services to go to Forest. What I really liked about the center was the waiting room, and the way I was treated.
