Also, the generator kept overheating and cutting out when we needed the AC at night. One of the engines, an older Evinrude I believe, was hard to start. The boat that we had was clearly older and not maintained. I would do this again, but not at Callville Bay.

This is a first hand review searched Yelp for Callville Bay to reserve one of their pontoon boats…read morelike I have done in the past and came across this business showing that they now rent boats at the same address. I figured that maybe the marina had a second listing just for smaller boats and not houseboats which is NOT TRUE. I was mislead the entire time thinking that I was renting DIRECTLY from the marina and not some fly by night company falsely advertising their location. After speaking with the marina I was told that they do not allow any rentals from anyone other than themselves and they have no knowledge of this company. Upon speaking with this company at the 800 number listed here, it turns out that they are calleInvert Sports I was never told that I wouldn't be dealing with the reputable marina like I had done in the past and was quoted a much higher price than I paid before so I decided to do some more research. Luckily I did, you can find this actual company, Invert Sports, online where they have other terrible reviews. This company has shady business practices and is advertising to be something they are not. Beware. Update: after several failed attempts to get my review removed for various reasons the owner has now resorted to saying I work for the company. I do not. If you read my review it states that I have rented from the other company before and had fabulous service. If you'd like to stop falsely advertising your business you would not get a negative review from me. It is obvious that we are dealing with children here who can't accept that someone didn't like their business. Yelp is about positive and negative reviews - kinda like your other ones.

We rented a pontoon this past weekend for $570 from 8am-5:30pm gas included. They provide life jackets that you try on before getting into your boat so you have the correct size. We were limited on where we could go that day because of the higher winds. We went out about 45mins from the dock. The pontoons aren't very fast boats so plan accordingly when having to bring the boat back. My friend is always the "Captain" & I know in the past he has had to watch a video on boating rules but he mentioned something about having to take a 6hr on line course to drive the boat?? Not 100% sure on that so double check prior to renting. I have Verizon cell phone service & had no issues with getting service here or out on the lake. They have "real" bathrooms on the dock & their little store has all sorts of stuff. They are way over priced but that can be expected. Some items the store carries are: ice ($3.50/bag), snacks, loaves of bread, sunscreen, drinks, alcohol, soft coolers, t-shirts, sun shirts, prepackage snack foods in the fridge, some toiletries. I actually needed some visine & got a wicked small bottle for $5.00, I bought some Cheetos for like $7.50, double oatmeal cake for like $3.00 but I did get a nice fun shirt, long sleeve with hood for like $23.00 & it says Lake Mead on it. There are a lot of fish hanging around the docks but you can't feed them & I ran into a couple of friendly ducks. This marina is about 45min drive from GVR area. I can't wait to head back & have another boating day! TIP: bring a trash bag to collect all your trash in. No glass bottles allowed. Have fun!

I grew up in Vegas and have been on this river a ton by boat, and I've also hiked to both Gold Strike and Arizona Hot Springs. Those hikes are super rewarding but honestly brutal. This experience was completely different in the best way. Being able to get out of the river and be steps away from hot springs was amazing, and the views from the water are hands down the best. We met the team bright and early at 5:30am for launch, and everything was super smooth. They shuttled us, got us fitted for life jackets, handled waivers, and gave a quick safety rundown. Launch timing is strict because of the park service, but they made it feel easy and not stressful at all. Definitely be on time, though, because due to this strict timing, they will leave without you. The kayaks were such a game-changer. They were longer touring kayaks with foot-controlled rudders, dry storage, and actual back support. Super comfortable for me and somehow also worked great for my 6'2" husband (he had a larger boat). Since it was just the two of us, our guide Holmes customized the whole day to our pace. He took us to hidden spots I had never seen before, even as a local, and helped us avoid crowds. We did some hiking, rock scrambling, used ropes at Boy Scout Canyon, and explored hot springs that you can only get to from the river. It felt adventurous but still very safe, and he gave great tips the whole time. He also knew so much about the area. History of the Hoover Dam, plants, wildlife, etc. I learned a ton - even as someone who felt familiar with the area. This is exactly why I'm glad we didn't just rent kayaks. Having a guide made it feel like a next-level experience. We got to relax more while he handled the route and found the best spots. We got lucky with perfect early April weather. No wind, super glassy water, and we could see fish deep in the water. The 12 miles honestly felt way easier than expected, especially with how well Holmes guided us through the current so we could just float and chill a lot of the time. They also packed a great lunch, snacks, and plenty of water. You really just need a sun shirt, hat, sunglasses, swimsuit, water shoes, and sunscreen. They take care of the rest. Even though we leaned a little more adventurous, I could totally see this being doable for beginners, too. You don't need to be super athletic to enjoy it. Pickup and cleanup were easy and seamless. They handled everything while I grabbed a snack and relaxed, which honestly made it feel even more special. This was such a cool experience, and I would 100% do it again. Already recommending it to friends, and I would definitely consider doing the overnight version next time.

They provided a large trailer with ample shelves and space to put are gear onto. A safety speech was also given. This company has special authorization to enter the Hoover Dam property and take people down to launch from the entrance of the Hoover Dam. They instructed you to move quickly as there was a time limit for getting everyone/everything Into the water and away from the area. The next day, they were prompt with their pick up and helped us load our gear back onto the trailer. I would definitely use this company again and recommend them to others.

We were told that the raft could hold about 32 people, but we were lucky because on tour we had a total of 17, which was nice. We were also given a bag with snacks and a bottle of water, which was great to snack on during the tour. We met our driver at the Hoover Dam lodge. There was a lot of parking available, which made it easy. Our driver was super friendly and very informative. He took us to the raft to meet our tour guide. Our tour guide wasn't welcoming to my husband and I, but as other guests loaded onto the raft, his attitude changed. As we started the tour we stayed at the same spot for 30 minutes. Our guide passed out pictures in sheet protectors and began sharing about the history of the Hoover dam. Throughout the tour, our guide was testing us about our history. We didn't know much of it, that's why we attended the tour to learn. The best part of the tour was us getting out of the raft and landing on a piece of land to touch the water and skip rocks and take more photos. It was nice to see a few mini waterfalls and even a hot spring! I did wished we went deeper into the dam, but I guess that would've been for the longer tour. Also, I wish we could've swam in the lake, but it was very chilly. It was a great experience, however, the initial encounter with our guide was uncomfortable. We learned a lot and the views were amazing.

Really nice guy and very knowledgeable about the area. Our driver Micheal was also fantastic and helped get us oriented to the dam as we took the drive from the meet up point to the boat. Would highly recommend this tour, especially if you need to get away from the craziness of the strip for an afternoon. We did the hour and a half tour, but I think we will come back for the three hour.
