Black beans on one & white on the other with garlic chicken & their jalapeño cheese sauce. Everything homemade & fresh. Delicio!! We will be back soon, I didn't have room for the crème brûlée. Absolute best prime rib sandwich I've ever had. Their fish is EXCELLENT and our family's new favorite Friday night fish spot. The brew city fries are so popular at so many places, but I prefer the natural cut fries here. Just like those trailers at the local fairs and festivals. So good! Hands down one of the best place in La Crosse for wings. My fav is the spicy ranch and four horsemen but they also have excellent chef specials. Wed is wing nights so you get quite a bang for your buck and check out their new city fries too. Service wise staff could be more attentive and faster and have more options for craft beer. read more

I was in 3 times, so ive given them more then enough chances. I was in thanksgiving and was dismayed at the price of the large thanksgiving meal. The portion was average, and the pie that was delivered to my table at the end was in a word, pathetic for what i payed. Second time i was in, two weeks later, i ordered the arterial burger, which in the past NEVER disappointed, until now. What was once a burger even i had trouble finishing, as im not a little guy, left much to be desired. The burger was over smaller, and over cooked and the fries were cold and limp. I swore i was done with the place as this new ownership and direction with the food left a bad taste in my mouth. Lol, or so i believed. About 10 minutes ago i decided maybe id try one more time, maybe i'd be wowed. I certainly was. I walked in and sat at a table in the dining room , passing the waitress who managed to get a "hi" out. I sat down, and waited. And waited. And waited. So i looked around, maybe they were busy. Nope. 1 other table with two people. Then i spotted the waitress at the bar on her phone, then chatting with the one patron at the bar, then watching tv. I noticed one of the owners a few tables in front of me talking buisness with beer vendors. Even he never noticed i wasnt being helped. So after 10 minutes sittting there, i got up and left. We went for dinner, it sucked. The cheese curds got tough. Since everything on the menu was deep fried I ordered the grilled chicken salad, which was blah and they had no low fat or low cal dressing, really? Why offer salads then. Could be decent. Food not so much. Staff was friendly, and for the most part, the atmosphere was nice. That was until some idiot wouldn't stop harassing our table. I used to live 5 blocks from here. We used to get the fish dinners every Friday night. It is really great food. They remodeled the place a few years ago, and expanded. One of the many south side neighborhood bars, but it is definately one of my favorites. It has an attached parking lot and it right on a main road making it really easy to find. read more

It was not "A-OK". We ordered our drinks first, then our food (wings). We never had to wait so long before for our order from the kitchen. We weren't given any extra napkins, wet wipes, or an empty paper boat to put the bones in. It took even longer for our second order of wings to arrive. The waitress didn't apologize or give us an explanation. We had to ask for sugar and a spoon which should've been served with my mother's hot beverage. My second order of wings was on the small size too. On our previous visit my pint of La Crosse Lager was flat and one of the wings I was served wasn't even a chicken wing. It was some other cut of meat and the bone was deformed. I contacted the Arterial about it via email and they didn't respond. read more

This place really is a neighborhood bar. The staff is very accomidating and makes excellent drinks. Beer selection is good and they have good drink specials. There is a back room for parties. Be careful parking in the winter, the parking lot can be extremely slippery. read more

Not a bad place if you aren't a paying customer. My group stood at the door for 10 minutes while waiting for service. Every single person kept walking past us or talking near the bar. We looked like idiots and the people that came in behind us ended up leaving because of the service. Finally, we went up to ask and they told us they had a table we could sit in and proceeded to walk away. we waited and waited and were finally led to our seats by an employee that was off the clock. She did in form us we would be helped momentarily. We waited about another 15 min. just for our waitress to get there. When she did, we ordered our appetizers, entrees, and drinks. In order to get even water, it required us to wait 18 min. I almost went to the bar just go get even water for our group. At last, they brought our drinks and told us the food would be right up. We waited 50 min, with the waitress coming back and asking us if we wanted our coffee "HEATED UP". It's ridiculous that it would take that long for food. our appetizers never came and every single table in the "poker room area" was pissed. multiple tables got up and left. The off-the-clock employee was promptly waited on, drinks took about 5 min to get to her and her boy, and she was in and out with her food and check in about 45 min. talk about horrible customer service. When we sat there for 1.5 hours with only 1 refill for our drink, our waitress came back and said " hey guys, I'm sorry. it is going to be about 15 minutes more for your food. do you just want to cancel and go somewhere else? we can comp your pops. " Thank you for comping my $1.55.... I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO A RESTAURANT WHERE THE WAITRESS COMES AND TELLS US THAT THE FOOD WILL BE ABOUT 15 MORE MIN AND THEN ASKING US TO CANCEL OUR ORDER. INSTEAD OF APOLOGIZING AND MAYBE TRYING TO FIX THE SITUATION, your waitress just canceled about $70 worth of food. the saddest part? other "college aged groups" also said they had to wait about 1.5 hours while the bar wasn't filled, and neither was the restaurant area. I have been a patron for MANY years. The food, all frozen, sucks. It used to be known for the roast beef sandwiches. Now it is a college joke. We live in area w/lots of fresh produce, chix, beef, cheese & fish, yet they serve up frozen crappy food. How embarrassing for WI. Not everyone wants a "shot of the day" for lunch. Some do want a good real meal. To boot, the bartenders are rude and snotty. I would not recommend this place to my dog. This place will be not here for long (Thank God).
