Great experience working with Forme Solar! Ended up purchasing 13 solar panels and getting an EV charger installed Spent several days working with Bobby to discuss my solar wants and needs, but the best part was that I never felt any pressure to purchase or use any particular payment plans. Other solar companies tried to pressure me into purchasing, pressure me for extras like a battery and also to use their payment plans. The really deceptive payment plans claim "$0 and no-cost-to-you" except that you do end up paying AND you end up paying more than double the cost of solar! The installation team came on time and finished the job within the time range they mentioned. Forme Solar did an excellent job. They took care of everything right from the start. They kept up communication throughout the whole project with emails and phone calls. They applied for the permits and did all the work, no subcontractors. After they submitted permits I decided to add two more panels. They re-submitted permits and got approval. They upgraded my electrical panel and installed the rest of the electrical. All the work was clean and perfect including the stucco matching the original and matching paint color. Everything is neat and clean. It took one day to upgrade the electric panel and finish the electrical. It took another day to install all the panels. After that came the final inspection. Didn't pay a dime, and saved more than $100/ month going solar. Loved how simple ORME Solar made this process from our first contact through the final paperwork, I have nothing but the highest praise for everyone we worked with at ORME. Mike oversaw our entire job meeting with us and following up with a detailed estimate outlining each step of the job in the proposal. From there, he was available by phone and email to answer all questions, coordinating the entire project with multiple different contractors. This was not an easy job, as there were additional questions from the city regarding the permit paperwork to dealing with other contractors. Even though Mike was responsible for the solar portion of the project, he followed up with the other contractors and the city to ensure that all of the necessary paperwork was in place and move forward with the job. I wish it went smoothly from there, but there were still a few hiccups along the way. Issues with the HVAC parts and schedule were creating delays. Again, ORME stepped up and worked with the contractor to have the problems corrected even though this meant that Donnee, another amazing member of the ORME team made additional trips to the house to make sure all of the work was being done properly. First my old inverter stopped working with an Earth Fault error code. Within a phone call, Nick immediately sent a team over to my house the next day to trouble shoot the problem. They found no issue with the panels- just the 12-year old inverter due for replacement. Just completed my solar installation from Forme Solar and it was pretty easy! I spoke with several other solar companies, and I was impressed with their low pressure, informative approach. Other companies were really aggressive. Bobby sent me a proposal and helped me see the costs and benefits of going solar. Good, Bad and The Ugly The Ugly: Original solar installer Harness went out of business leaving me with the system that was on a roof but not operational I tried to contact a few different companies but nobody would be willing to touch the system was getting payment requests from the bank as well. Difficult times having to make payments on solar that isn't even working because of so,e false promises from a company that went bankrupt all while paying an electricity bill at the same time. The Bad: Because of NeM 3.0 every company that I called for help regarding solar was too busy and kept pushing me off for months or would just turn me away saying they wouldn't touch the system since they did not installed themselves. They just had way too much business and could care less about me. The Good: The bank ecommended me to an installer called Forme Solar and they helped me out of this ugly crisis. They did a site visit to help figure out if my system was in fact operational. I needed some minor repairs and voila my system is up and running . They not just that they helped with all of my paperwork from the utility company allowing me to still get on nem 2.0 as well as working with my lender to get me an extension. I wanted a local installer for my home solar and after getting bombarded by 7 different companies, I am so glad I went with ORME solar! These guys don't act anything like the other 6 companies I spoke to. Everyone else tried to sell me really hard on their equipment and talked trash about the competition. Nick, my sales rep, asked me for my electrcity usage, explained how they determined the system size and showed me a forecast of my solar production. Once I was cool with that, he explained how most solar equipment performed almost exactly the same and taught me the difference between an equipment guarantee vs a production guarantee. At the end, I got a great setup with Q Cell panels and Enphase microinverters for $2.75 a watt and a 25 year production guarantee! Throughout the install, which took 7 weeks start to finish because my HOA is so slow, Nick was on deck at all times and kept me informed from design, to permit, to install, and activation. I would not recommend anyone going with Forme Solar. During our solar project, they had poor communication throughout the process. I had to call and email multiple times to resolve issues such as their workmanship. The installers broke our tiles on our roof and tried to cover up their work. They only fixed it after we complained to the owner. In the end, I called them because my HOA required my inverter to match my color of my stucco wall. When I talked to someone there they said they will take care of it. I didn't get a confirmation email or anything. So what did they do, they emailed me a release of liability form. They installed the inverter box outside which was a gray color so I painted it myself to get the HOA to finally approve the install. I recommend going with Tesla, my neighbor said their pricing is comparable and their work was much nicer in terms of aesthetics. They installed the inverter box inside the garage which looked nicer because you don't have to paint it to match the outside wall. If you want to be left in the dark during your project and feel like you're less than a valued customer, then they're the right company for you. read more
