Super nice coffee shop downtown, employees are very sweet and your drinks are delicious. Love that they have a specialty coffee where proceeds go to help the humane society (they feature a new pup every month). Decided to try their summer menu and get a Rockford Peach. Walked in very friendly service. Tried the cherry vanilla nitro cold brew and a flat white. Had the Blueberry Ricotta and the Chocolate pecan scones. They both were delicious. We sat inside due to the heat, but you can take it outside. read more

Forte is a cute spot with yummy drinks right on the main drag of St. Joseph! We visited close to open on a Saturday morning and had the whole place to ourselves but more folks came in as the day went on. There is some gift/merch type items available in the shop and some spots to sit and work or chat around the corner, and everything was clean and cozy. The seasonal drinks looked delicious and the barista recommended the Dun Dun with snickerdoodle and cayenne. It was super sweet- I wish I had asked for half syrup- but perfect if you like sweet drinks! My husband got the Bullseye and thought it was really good. I bet this place gets packed in the summer months, but it was cozy and calm for a winter morning and definitely worth the stop! read more

This place and Broad St. are like night and day. After hanging out at Broad St. and enjoying the warm vibe there. This place was just cold as in the staff working there. They look bothered that we came here and the fall drink we ordered was awful. At least we know now not to return. read more

Gotta love the help board in the back! I think it was the first time that I thought about the ratios in my coffee/espresso drinks. One of many coffee places in the downtown St. Joseph area but one that I highly recommend! Staff were incredibly friendly and were patient in me taking forever to make my final decision on getting a normal latte. The latte was great! No bitterness from the espresso, it was perfectly mixed with the whole milk. Not sure if there is much else that I can say. Was a reasonable price for a latte and was ready within a few minutes. Definitely a place I would come back to if I happen to be back in the area again! read more

My husband picked me up a 12 oz cup of the Forté blend while he was out running some errands on New Years Eve. I am not a huge coffee person, preferring to grab a chai tea or hot cocoa, but I'm trying to become more adult in my methods of acquiring caffeine. Energy drinks with loads of carbs are being cut out slowly, so coffee is something I'm attempting to aquire a taste for. The forté blend was a good choice and I'll probably get it next time I come in. They do also have baked goods that all look delicious, but I haven't gotten one yet. read more

As a barista I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing from start to finish. The staff was incredibly rude --acted like serving customers was a burden. I tried to brush it off and ordered a coffee, hoping at least the drink would make up for it. Unfortunately, it didn't. The coffee was bitter, burnt, and somehow both watery and overly strong. I couldn't finish it. Between the poor service and awful drink, I won't be coming back -- and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who enjoys either decent coffee or basic courtesy. read more

Stopped by today. I got a medium hot dirty chai. The total was over seven dollars but it was pretty decent. They were a little busy when I was there, but got the drinks out in good timing. I saw they had pastries, which I did not try. It looks decent. When I go by I'll grab another drink. The menu was pretty big. read more

An excellent cafe nestled in the rugged, artsy downtown district. We had a flat white latte and an iced chai, and both were delicious! They have all the milk alternatives you could ever ask for (thanks lactose intolerance), and they even have some unique options for supporting local humane societies! How cool! read more

Customer service was very nice, the place is clean, nice and organized as well.... HOWEVER, though I LOVE coffee....This was not it for me. The mocha frap was gross to me. Strong almost like old coffee grounds taste mixed with a very cheap generic chocolate taste. The chocolate taste was very off putting kinda waxy. When a customer asks you why you charged them something, they are not just asking. It is theft. I expect an answer when I ask that question. My receipt clearly shows a custom charge of 50 cents, for a side of sauce that I did not receive. It was actually supposed to be a dollar because I ordered 2 sides. I sent a message and was told that I was not charged, end of reply. I replied that I was. Instead of sending a refund, they sent me a copy of the current receipt that clearly shows a 50 cent custom charge on it. I am not the blind one here. I messaged again asking what the charge was for, if not for the sauce. No reply. I am also tired of tipping on takeout just to have no one check the orders and for it to go out wrong, no more. What is the tip for? It was 2 items, juice, and some sauce, not hard to get right. Tip in cash only if your order is correct. A normal response would also be to apologize for getting the order wrong to begin with. I have not received another response or a refund so I take it that they feel entitled to take money for items not given. It is not about the amount of money, just the audacity and bad business practices. Shameful behavior. There is nothing special about the menu here so something better will eventually take its place.

Luisa's has a small café as well; however, it fills up fast and is small, so don't walk in expecting to get seated right away, especially with large parties. Definitely worth a visit! I love the rosemary shortbread, chocolate donuts, almond cream pastries, brownies, and kolache. The cupcake was also amazing but I have only seen it here one time. The raspberry paczki are good. The custard one is just ok. The staff is always friendly.
