Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend this place to anyone. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The horses had personality and were great to learn from!

A bald eagle we saw it as we crossed the river

It was an amazing day. The weather was perfect. We were given amazing horses and had the best ride ever. I will definitely be back the guides are very knowledgeable. It was such beautiful scenery and we cross the river so fantastic I will be back again soon

Such a fun time! I took my sisters for a bachelorette trip and we had a blast. Definitely a slower ride, and it's quite hot/dusty (obviously, it's the desert lol), but if you go with a fun group, you'll definitely enjoy it. The people who helped us were also really great and knowledgeable about the horses and the land. Would recommend for a leisurely horse backing ride!

My mare was named Rosie, a kind soul. Charles(a good looking guy but doesn't like his picture taken a hundred times a day, lol), Payson (and her dog), Biscuit, Ryer and a man whose name started with a D. Thank you all, this was a special pace and great experience for my Japanese guest. enjoyed the slow pace, scenery was great, a easy trail especially for beginners. P.S. Please don't forget to tip because it does mean a lot to them. I WOULD RECOMMEND My mare was named Rosie, a kind soul. For my 70th birthday celebration, since I love horseback riding,my wonderful sister organized a ride with Fort McDowell Adventures . We were lucky enough to have friends and family that jumped at the chance to join us. Everyone even dress the part which really added to the whole experience. In total we had 8 women and one brave 8 year old on a fabulous ride with Wranglers Neil,Dane and Trail boss, Bree. They made our ride safe, fun and entertaining. The stables are great with restrooms, water for sale, plenty of parking, good signage and shade. The highlight was the river crossings but thank goodness it didn't end up like a scene from the Lonesome Dove movie. What great memories and pictures we all took away from that adventure. Thank you all!

What a great experience! The staff was fantastic working with us beginners. The 90 minute trail ride was fun and informative. The horses were beautiful and well behaved. We highly recommend this adventure!

    Beautiful view

We had the best time horseback riding at Fort McDowell! The guides were amazing and all the horses were so awesome and perfect for each of our level of experience. Such a fun day of riding and the views were great! Peyton, Neil, and Biscuit made sure we had an awesome time and we really enjoyed the ride! We also loved the dog rooster

Here's where we first crossed the water. They closely guided our entire group through.

Our company took a large group of employees riding and it was SO much fun! We went through water several time and the horses were so well behaved. Also the guides were very personable. All around a great experience and great people!!

We had an amazing time this morning. Thank you Fort McDowell Adventures. The ride was absolutely beautiful, we couldn't of asked for better weather. The amount of different terrain we covered was so gorgeous. Still can't get over some of the views. What a peaceful and serene ride. We ranged from 8 to 71 and absolutely everyone had a great time. We went back today for another amazing adventure. Thank you!

Got the horseback riding as a Groupon and absolutely loved it!! My boyfriend and I have never done this before and it was a great experience. I am not an experienced rider at all- last time I rode a horse was more than 10 years ago- but this was great! Not hard to do at all. 2 hours riding through beauty was perfect and relaxing. Not hot either, but we went in January. The breeze was very nice. I had Pepper, who wanted to lay down halfway through our ride. He then rolled over on my foot, wanting to scratch his back. I was scared and thought he was exhausted! The tour guides were very knowledgeable about their horses. They were very nice and made jokes here and there. They even took pictures for us at the end of the ride! So happy I purchased this- it really did make my southwest experience perfect!! Thank you McDowell Adventures!

    Beautiful horse I rode

This was so fun and I even fell off my horse into a bunch of horse poop and mud, lol. I took my mother who is 66 and my kids ranging from 12 to 25 and we all had a blast. It's a little long and your butt will hurt at the end but the views and the guide and everything was just awesome. Will definitely be back!!

Went horseback riding while visiting family in town . This was my second go round with this company so I knew what to expect. We did the two hour trial which was long and rocky . My horse diamond was a bit hard headed but we pulled it out. Wasn't able to go over the verde river because the water was too high . It was a nice quiet and scenic route . Biscuit was a great tour guide.

What time does their 2-hr horseback riding tour/adventure start?

Usually the first/earliest 2 hour tour is either 9 or 9:30. When I went a few months back I did the 2 hour tour at 1130 am

The food is delicious I had a canoli and a bite of pizza and I'd absolutely go back to try other things. They have a full bar. A fun spot to visit! They offer a tour and a fun store that you can get olive oil, spreads, chocolate bars and tangential products. You can sample the olive oil but there's nothing to dip it in so you'd just be ingesting pure oil; it would have been nice to have a pretzel or bread to dip! I would have wanted everything to be made there but for example the pastas and pasta sauces weren't. And they sell other products from elsewhere. If I'm making a trip here, I'd want to buy things that are primarily made here. They also have several dining options (not sure how they're all related). I was pleased with the food we ordered: huge artichoke calzone (soft dough and good filling) for $22 and fish and chips (excellent fries), as well as a bakery that sells cupcakes, scones, cakes, cookies, brownies as well as gelato. We liked the cookies and scone though the latter didn't have the usual consistency of a scone). It was interesting that their Italian cookies were actually slightly cheaper purchased at the counter vs the already packaged box. They also sell cerreta individually wrapped candies. They have indoor and outdoor seating if you want to eat there. Employees were very friendly. I'm sure it is a more pleasurable experience going when there aren't a lot of crowds, as it is a tourist spot and has overflow parking.

I'm in the hospitality industry and I've worked hundreds of banquets and weddings so I know what to look for when it comes to service. Michelle Hart made our lives soooooooop much easier. I love that woman! My husband and I were originally going to have a backyard wedding, but became very stressful so we decided to look into affordable venues that can accommodate 100 people with 2 months notice. With the packages offered by the antique wedding house, it made our planning so easy. The value is outstanding. We went with the Isabella package for 100 people and it was approx $7000 on a Monday. all inclusive. Dj, photographer, Photo Booth, catering, 3tier cake, dressing room's, event coordinator, everything! We absolutely made the right decision when choosing antique wedding house as the venue for our wedding. They took care of everything. EVERYTHING ! Michelle, the coordinator and lady in charge, was very kind, patient, and easy to work with. She answered every question, was very helpful in helping make decisions, and also allowed us to choose and customize what we wanted with no hesitation. For example, we purchased the Isabella package and it includes an officiant for the ceremony. My husband and I wanted my mother and his friend to officiate us together. No problem! Michelle made planning our wedding so easy. It's like a one stop shop. Michelle literally helped us plan almost everything in less than an hour. Come wedding day, everything was stunning! The staff was very accommodating, and pleasurable. The food was amazing. Our Dj, Emmett with Direct Sounds DJs, was Awesome! Our photographer... Dorrell Edwards with Always Timeless Weddings, well.... All I can say is that This guy. The bartender, Ruben, was on point, friendly, and professional. Dennis and jessica with Goof Booth photo booths, were very very awesome and kind. The banquet captain, Eric, was super sweet and I really appreciate everything he did to make our night perfect. The cake... let me tell you that the cake is the absolute BEST wedding cake I have EVER had. And being in the industry, I've tried a lot of wedding cake. It was 3 tiered with 3 different flavors and icings. We did red velvet with cream cheese icing, strawberry with mango icing, and butter rum with butter cream icing. So freaking good!!!! And it was beautiful. All and all the antique wedding house has my 110% satisfaction. They offer an officiant but we went with our own.

Leading up to the party, Christy was incredibly responsive and patient, answering all of my questions via email and even giving us a tour of the venue ahead of time. The space was absolutely perfect for our princess unicorn theme. During the party, Rebecca and DJ were so kind, patient, and attentive with all 15 kids, allowing them to ride the ponies multiple times, helping with photos while riding, and bringing out the hare and baby goat for petting--which the kids absolutely loved. All of the animals, including the miniature horses, donkey, sheep, alpaca, chickens, geese, and ducks, were very friendly and tolerant with the children. It was obvious how well cared for and loved the animals are. DJ even went above and beyond by helping my husband lift a heavy cooler full of drinks during setup, which was greatly appreciated. The party setup looked beautiful, and everyone--kids and parents alike--had an amazing time. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend Charming Pony Parties to anyone looking for a truly special and memorable celebration!

The whole reason we did this for her birthday is because my daughter is a strong believer in unicorns and absolutely loves them. Upon arriving the kids immediately noticed the "unicorn" and his horn was lopsided, falling off of his head. My daughter went up to the employee and told her that the horn was falling off. Later she told me that it broke her heart it wasn't a real unicorn. If you have a group coming specifically for a unicorn encounter that unicorn should be ready and looking magical as can be for their arrival. Additionally, the second reason we chose this experience was because the website said you would get to hold bunnies. My daughter loves bunnies and told me all leading up to the party that she couldn't wait to hold a bunny. The employee did NOT let the girls hold bunnies at all, she only let them pet the bunny. It also said they would feed alpacas, sheep, and goats. They didn't have the girls feed any animals at all. In fact no one was guiding through the process at all aside from a lady taking the girls in a circle twice on the pony. Then she disappeared for a long time until she finally came back out and brought out one bunny for them to pet. The AC was not turned on in the castle until we were about to leave and it was 2:30 in the afternoon so almost 100 degrees outside. Overall very disappointed and would not recommend going here. We paid $125 for the kids to basically run around a farm for an hour in 100 degrees. The reviews had been so great saying they make it a magical experience and sadly the magic was exactly what we were missing today.
