Enjoyed All-you-can-eat Crab legs on Friday (late afternoon). No wait time, no big lines. A fairly large selection of various dishes including sushi and Crab legs. The crab was steamed perfectly and fairly sweet. In the downside, dessert was just ok. One of the best things about the buffet was the staff. Really attentive and friendly. It's been years since going to this casino, wow things have changed for the better. I have to say I love the fact that it's smoke free at least for now. It's not overcrowded the machines and playing tables are spaced apart to give you ample walking room. The casino was so clean I was even impressed by the care and cleanliness of the restroom. The bar area is large and has a wide variety of beers and liquor and ver friendly bartenders. I also enjoyed the wide variety of games they offer, some I haven't seen at the other casino in town. For a medium sized casino, there are a lot of security personnell. There also are a lot of healthy mature people walking about. Huge Bingo room with a separate smoking area. There is a buffet, deli, sportsbar, mini snack shop and hotel. The buffet looks notable in that its $9.50 plus tax this Monday night. Pal actually got lucky here playing video poker. Me, not lucky. Alcohol drinks are for purchase. There is a drink person pushing a trolley with coffee and soft drinks through the machine aisles. Easy parking. Love the new buffet! The buffet has two choices Asian and Mexican. I understand that they will be adding a pizza side eventually. I really liked that the attendants serve the food, helps keep things tidy and I didn't feel like I needed to sanitize my hands when I got back to the table. Also, the attendants were super nice. I was so excited about my food that I ended up with too many plates so one of the gentleman carried one for me to my table. Tonight I tried the Mexican side. All of the food was very good. The carne asada street tacos were spot on! I am craving them just thinking about them. The soup was perfect comfort food. The refried beans, rice, enchiladas, cod and all of the sides were just delicious. The chips were displayed in a fun way. The mild salsa was a little on the hot side but still good. I cannot say enough about the dessert bar the fried ice cream and churros were amazing. I really wanted to try the flan but I ran out of room in my stomach. I used to go to local casinos two or three times a month, now it is just monthly. instead I go to Vegas every two months instead for three or four days. This is Mainly because Arizona casinos don't let u smoke. (except Harrahs but its smoking area is so small and minimum bets on most machines just too high) I love to play video poker for hours and smoke a cigar or two. I get why local casinos have removed the option (non smokers complaints) but the joy of a casino to me is to be an adult and a bit "bad" for a few hours. Gambling, a drink or two and a bit of smoking are adult heaven. Having to leave my machine and step outside often in over 100 degrees really sucks. Now that said, we ko pa is the only one I still visit. The staff are friendly, great options for video poker, excellent restaurant choices, cozy rooms, generous comps, and the outside options for comfort to smoke are top notch. Cant give it 5 stars for the smoking ban nonsense but everything else is extremely good. read more

It was sooooo sad, depressing and blah. I play keno In the nonsmoking and it was horrible. Every other machine closed. I think there were maybe 6-7 keno machines open so I had to wait an hour to get on one. No buffet. Very smoky which was weird I thought since there are less machines. Everyone seemed grumpy. The casino had a nice array of machines, but they need to clean up more oftern, or maybe the patrons need to use an ashtray more oftern. yes there is a lot of smoke smell around, but they have a small smoke free area. Someone recently asked me what I thought of Fort McDowell Casino. Bleccch! Was my first thoughts. My second was bring a gas mask. Yes, it's that bad. It's like you're back in the 1960s with the blue smoke haze. Over the years I attended conferences in LVS, Atlantic City, London, et cetera. This Casino is sadly the bottom rung and I'm up over $200 here on the one dollar slots! The only Casino that may be in the same poor state of condition would be the Cliff Castle Casino in Camp Verde. But that one is more amusement park with slots, then a Casino. They also have a bowling alley, Kid Quest and a bunch of other stuff going on. BTW, their Storyteller's Steakhouse isn't bad. The food options are horrible. The "cafe" was the only restaurant open for a Tuesday lunch. It was mostly prepared salads, soups and cafeteria style foods. More of a snack-bar. What a shithole. I came to watch some MMA fights in the parking lot of this sad establishment. The parking lot was a secret garden compared to the inside. After a few cocktails by the ringside my girlfriends and I didn't want to use the port-a-potty so we went inside to use their restrooms. It was disgusting, everything was filthy and run down. There was a hallway you had to cross from the bingo room to the casino, the hallway wreaked of urine, like people had been pissing in there for years. This review is mostly for the pow wow and buffet, as I only went into the casino to eat. I recommend this three day event if you can make it next year. They had a really good food court area with homemade treats, including of course, fry bread. The dances were going on all evening, and there was authentic American Indian arts and crafts for sale. There was a Kona Ice stand as well as some of the best kettle corn I have ever had. Prices were very reasonable and the event to get in was free! It was remarkable to see the obvious hundreds of hours that went into the dancer's costumes. I felt really welcome as everyone was so friendly. Later, when I went into the casino and I was bummed that there is no wifi! huh? Of course there was also no cell service inside the casino as well until I walked a good 200 feet outside of the casino. The place is very smoky, not what I'd call Circus Circus in Las Vegas smoky, but it was pretty bad. This even after I saw numerous signs saying, "Thank you for not smoking," huh?? It took me awhile to find the buffet as things are more than disorganized. You're not going to get the best quality crab legs here but they are pretty good nonetheless for 15.99 all you can eat. I believe it's cheaper on certain days of the week. The buffet seating area looks kind of depressing and blocky, I'm surprised people aren't running into each other all of the time. Everything was surprisingly pretty good based on what I was expecting. The salad was green and fresh, workers hovered to make sure everything was kept clean, the seafood was fresh and not fishy, and the desserts were pretty decent. This casino is the absolute worst place in Arizona to play, hang out, drive by or even think about. The people that come here and work here have no respect for the game. Let's talk about the players. They are rude, condescending, inconsiderate, and not only break the rules but don't even follow the basic rules of playing cards. The people have no respect for anyone else. I see a guy spit on the floor literally right in front of me. The poker players make illegal moves, play out of turn, and do whatever the hell they want. I could go on but this is ridiculous. Let's talk about the actual casino itself. It smells like a cesspool of old people, cigarettes and absolute dingy place. It is filthy. The air system they have doesn't allow for anything to circulate so you walk out smelling smoke. Even walking thru to the poker room. The poker room sucks plain and simple. They have only 3/6 or 4/8 and I have never seen anything different. They have tournaments but those suck too. The services is so slow. The dealers have NO control over the game. People do and say whatever they want. That's the issue, they have no control and players do whatever. A lot of the dealers don't interact with you but for 5 seconds. They are clearly miserable working there. I am going to talking stick or casino arizona. This place sucks so bad. If you are visiting don't waste you time unless you are over 60. I was told by a casino host that Ft. McDowell is taking all precautions because of the virus but went there yesterday for the first time and they are not. Absolutely are not. They have a small area for non smoking and all of a sudden they let people smoke on three of the machines on the wall going in to the non smoking area so the smoke goes right on people who are there to play in a non smoking environment. It seemed dirty too, not cleaned up very well. There are not barriers inbetween people like they said they would do. Nobody is even three feet apart. And they let people stand behind you waiting for a machine and i mean right behind you. Security and casino workers just walk right past and do nothing about it. Hardly anyone wears a mask in there. Came here for my neighbor's birthday. Small little casino which had live music on Saturday night. We sat at the bar where Joe and Maria helped us out. They were fast and made yummy cocktails. I really, really liked my first visit to the Red Rock Buffet. On this Friday night, it was all you can eat prime rib and lobster. For what I paid $26.95, this gal thinks it was a great deal! The standard price is $31.95. If you show the casino's player card, you qualify for $5.00 off each time you visit this buffet, hence the discounted price of $26.95. The lobsters are given out in halves, one at a time, at the prime rib station. The servers didn't mind my friend going up seven times to fill her seafood craving. Accompanied by clarified butter, this sweet lobster was the feature of the buffet. In my opinion, the tasty and flavorful prime rib was on the same tier. Who knew that this average looking buffet would offer one of the tastiest prime rib I've had in a while? Their mashed potatoes were very good as was the garlic bread in the chafing dish. With a generous pour of the wine and constant offers to refill beverages including the water and coffee, I left very pleased with the servers and all the dining room staff! A happy server even offered to go to the kitchen to bring out more cheesecake rounds, if I waited a minute. The member at the player card desk were wonderful as well! I'd return!! read more

And I have to admit I tried more combinations than I could count. Oh yeah, this review is about the casino. The moment I walked in the door, I felt like I needed a gas mask. I've been in many casinos and bars (and am usually not the one to complain of the person smoking next to me), but this one reeked of cigarettes. I thanked my family for poisoning me when we left. The bingo room is huge, and people claim their spot long before bingo starts- these people are serious. And the buffet must be a popular hot spot here if it forms a line of people almost back to the entrance of the casino. We had a great day yesterday at the restaurant. They offered a great variety of cocktails for $7 as well as a great hamburger and fries for $7. The burger was cooked to our liking and used a good quality beef. The happy hour special listed a variety of choices and all were very reasonable and tasty.
