The GOOD : Great location and service with a decent wine menu. They had live music on the patio and the Fountain Hills fountain was running! We ordered a Charcuterie board for sharing and that was very good. The BAD : We also were having dinner there and we know they did not do their own food, but brought it over from Arrivederci a few doors down who gets great reviews. BE CAREFULL what you order. I decided to splurge and the veal ($30) and did not think about it being a 'to go' order. It was served in a plastic to go container with nothing but the sauce and was Not that tender at all. I think it does Grapeables a disservice to serve certain dishes from there, or should at least make patrons aware of how it is served. My wifes lasagna was good, as that 'traveled' well. We sat on the patio and the views were beautiful! We really enjoyed our bottle of Chardonnay. Weird that they charge a $5 corking fee if you order a bottle. Pretty tacky. I have never ever come across this before. The bruschetta was fantastic! I love lots of toppings and I appreciate that it didn't come with meat or dairy. It's served in a plastic to-go container because it comes from the nearby restaurant. We were not given any extra plates though. So my hubby and and I shared out of the container. If I could give them zero stars I would. I was denied service because my service dog was accompanying me and I didn't have "Papers." I explained to them in the US there is no such thing, and anybody showing you paperwork for a service animal is fraudulent or their dog is an ESA and not allowed in restaurants. Traveling abroad is different. My dog is highly trained, small, and fits neatly underneath the table. More often than not, when we leave a restaurant I hear people saying, "There was a dog in here?" Because they didn't even notice he was there, as his job is to be invisible. He is also a non-shedding and hypoallergenic breed so no need to worry about dog allergies. I tried to explain the American disability act to them and their response to me was the owner doesn't allow ANY dogs, in their establishment not even service dogs. This is a blatant violation of American Disability Act. This owner needs to learn the laws. I have reported her business, hopefully they will do better in the future, but for myself, I will choose elsewhere. There are a lot of wine bars out there to choose from. Cozy eve sitting outside on their warm patio (heaters for cool winter evenings), plus cozy blankets available, as the live music played, with the fountain lake park surrounding the patio. A great little wine bar on the fountain. Great location that hosts local musicians and great wine. We enjoyed a wine flight and a small dinner tonight. They were appalled and won't be back. Neither will the guy they brought. It was their first time there. I always buy something when I go hear my friend sing. Not at this establishment! I don't appreciate being prodded. The female owner is obnoxiously rude and very VERY unprofessional. She can't see past her greed! By being obnoxiously rude and angry at two people she lost 5 potential customers. I'm not going to drink when I'm driving, however, I'm not always driving. Let me start by saying I'm not really a wine person. I've been a couple of times, Happy Hour for a networking event and a friend's birthday. I went this weekend because they were having a beer tasting.... so, well ... BEER! :) It was a well-priced tasting event and a Rep for Dogfish Head Brewing was there to tell us about what we were tasting. They did an excellent job of choosing four different beers and the gentleman did very well in describing them and answering our questions. The staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the server served the glasses by putting his fingers on the rim of the glass, right where you'd put your lips. That's a training issue on management's part, NOT a problem on the part of the server. I've noticed that it's definitely a problem in this town as a whole, so management probably doesn't even realize it's happening. This particular habit drives me absolutely insane. If you're in the mood for food, they've got menus for two of the restaurants in the strip mall. So that's a bonus - 'cuz sometimes you need something to eat to absorb that alcohol! We were four women and went for happy hour on Friday at 15:00. We sat on the patio as the view of the fountain was amazing!!! We ordered a beautiful rosé that was displayed in the front as it was my friend's favorite--Daou, from Paso Robles. The waiter came back and said that they did not have any chilled bottles, but gave each of us a sample of their house rosé while we waited for the bottle to be chilled. We also ordered a "white wine charcuterie board". The snacks came out on a board with cocktail napkins for plates and no silverware. We ordered more snacks to share as we were headed to a women's retreat for the evening and knew that we would not have dinner. The bruschetta and calamari were excellent, and he brought silverware and small plates--these were served in plastic "to-go" containers as they come from the restaurant next door--Arrivederci. We enjoyed the atmosphere sitting on the patio and watching people walking around the fountain on the sidewalk and the fountain shot off twice while we were there---a beautiful site! We were given a wine bottle filled with cold water at the beginning, but had to go to the bar for refills as the sole waiter was serving everyone and it was getting busy. When we received our bill, we noticed a "corking fee" of $5 for the wine that we had bought there. I don't believe I have ever paid a fee to open a bottle of wine purchased at a wine bar before. If you're into owner-driven, husband-and-wife run, casual and unpretentious yet upper-class/comfortable "fine" environs, food, service, wine, and music (acoustic live music 3x/wk (with no cover!)), the kind of place where everyone talks to/welcomes everyone yet no one is nosy or cliquish, where the whole place cheerfully claps when Mrs Owner breaks a glass (and someone calls out "it's earlier than that normally happens,"), free wi-fi, where you have a nice patio with heaters and a front-row Fountain view, wine by the bottle from their extensive retail collection or yours -- with just a $5 corkage (as well as a decent (7-9 reds and 7-9 whites selection by the glass for $7-$10), a great craft beer selection (Union Jack IPA!), couches, nice hightops, an l-shaped bar, great local artwork (also for sale), this will be your new favorite place. If you like stuffy, over-priced, boring, see-to-be-seen places with angry (or no) music, this place isn't for you. Second time here and Mr Owner greets me by name. Are you kidding?! Does that happen anymore? And when I say to him "that's cool," someone else in the bar comments about how I must be new because that's just how they do it here.
