Hay ... it's a Military Exchange store, nothing exciting here. You've been in one Military Exchange then you've been in them all. This establishment is extremely clean and well lit. Employees are lacking in numbers as for this trip I walked half the store to find someone. Between my last visit and this visit all but two of the registers have been replaced with Self-service checkouts. I HATE SELF-SERVE CHECKOUTS. And it's been close to a year since my last visit. Overall the visit was decent and I found everything I was looking for. Despite having to hunt down an employee and having to scan-n-pay my own self the visit was ok. So 4-stars to this PX. read more

This is a good sized Exchange with a Starbucks and food options. There is a big selection of flat screen TVs, furniture, and clothing. The store is clean and well maintained. read more

Overall - Has what you need, however no available associates except for checking out and jewelry/furniture sections. Parking- Huge lot thats private but you still will have a walk. Its a big store so lots of people even when it's not busy at all. Value- so its tax free but I generally don't get what's I'd consider deals except when clearance is an additional 25%. Overall if you need anything however you can find it here from garden, full furniture lines, to baby strollers, to contemporary luxury brands, to jewelery. All in all any visitors we have, we always go to try exchange. Vendors Food- Subway, Starbucks, Charley's, Boston Market Vendors Kiosks- rotate but you can find seasonal, beauty products (Avon) and random items Note: Must have MILITARY ID to purchase items in Exchange. read more

FOR CLOTHING AND SALES!!! They refuse to help soldiers with fittings unless they purchase them from the store. There is no type of morale for Soldier support. They only care about selling their products. read more

A great little mall area on the base. You can get any and everything here. They have everything from GNC to a fast casual food court. The prices are not always cheaper than the regular stores . Do your homework and you'll be alright. You need a military Id for the exchange only. You can purchase from Starbucks, gnc, and any other store without a military ID. read more

I love shopping at The Fort Meade Exchange. It's a little shopping center within Ft. Meade. Prior to entering Ft. Meade Exchange, there are various stores: GameStop, Barber Shop, Dry Cleaners, Optical, Optometry, GNC, and Jewelry Repair. There is a food court with a dining area that features: Starbucks, Boston Market, Charley's Cheesesteaks, Subway, Panda Express, and Qdoba Mexican Eats. There is something for everyone at Ft. Meade Exchange, including cellular mobile vendors, and firearm sales. Within the store there are columns to alert Ft. Meade staff that a customer needs assistance, as well as price check scanners. Please note discounts are offered if the Military Star Card is utilized upon purchasing. Military ID's: Active Duty, Reservist, and Retired are required when purchasing products within Ft. I have only been to one other base exchange, so that's my only point of comparison when reviewing the Fort Meade Exchange. You'll reach the exchange shortly after the secured entrance to base. Theres plenty of parking and the building is clean and well-lit. There's a food court-style offering of restaurants such as Boston Market and Charley's Subs. The store itself gives me Walmart/Duty-Free store vibes. There's just about anything you can think of, from televisions, to clothing, and pet supplies. My husband would often grab items from the base exchange or commissary when we couldn't find it at our local grocery store off base. I don't use the exchange as a regular store, but more so as a place to supplement items that I can't always find in other stores. It's a cool place to check out if you have access as a military-related person. read more

It's an absolute shame that they service active duty military and veterans the employees there could give two shits less about their job or customers when you call you can never get a hold of anybody and whatever you do do not buy furniture from there it takes forever to get delivered once they finally know where your package is absolute shame read more

A big improvement over the last exchange. Still got a little catching up to do before it is equal to the NEX but AAFES is trying. I will start off with the bad. The parking situation can get a bit bad. When in the parking lot keep your head on a swivel and the turns are tight closest to the entrance. Also there is parking on the side by the garden area but for some reason that entrance is now closed. Inside there are plenty of food options in the food court. Clothing options are pretty good also at reasonable prices. The best part of the PX in my opinion is the price matching option especially on electronics. This is a double-edged sword as it seems like AAFES is a bit behind on electronics. The electronics section is also smaller than many other equally sized PXs. On the plus side you can purchase firearms at this AAFES. More on base facilities are getting into this as it was once only offered at Marine Corps Exchanges. read more

A nice looking PX, although during two recent back to back visits I was charged incorrectly. One item was labeled incorrectly and charged me double the price. I returned it after going back to the aisle to verify, taking a picture and showing it to the service desk. I purchased another item a week later and was overcharged. The label at the aisle showed it on sale so I returned to take a picture to present to the service desk who told me they get behind on updating the computer. And that makes it right to overcharge customers? By the way, I went to the aisle for the first item I bought the week prior and saw the problem still hadn't been fixed even though I brought it to the attention of the service desk. There was a row of the item labeled incorrectly and overpriced. read more

If I could give the Jewelry Repair store,inside the mall are of the PX, zero stars I would. First, hours of operation are only Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9am-5pm. So if you work during these hours you can't use their service. I was able to make it there today and brought in five watches needing batteries and was told they would be ready on Wednesday. Really? You can't do them while I wait? Then I had a Timex Ironman that just needed each pin inserted on once side. I tried but could only get one side in each hole. Nope, can't do it on the spot either. What a waste of my time to not complete simple battery replacements on the spot! read more

Before you wonder why I gave it one star, understand that is has nothing to do with the outlet stores or the shopping area itself. This is a review over the Barber Shop on base located inside the exchange. So I went there to get a haircut this morning by an older Asian gentleman, specifically the one directly ahead towards the back when you walk in, and let's just say it wasn't what I asked for. I asked for a medium fade, down to the skin. I'm in the Marine Corps, so it's important our haircut is fresh every Monday, so it looks good and professional all week. I left with what I would consider the worst haircut I've gotten in my entire life. Nowhere near even along the curve of the head, and not a skin fade at all. It was horrible. When he asked if it was good and ready to go, I said again that I want it down to the skin and more evenly faded. He proceeded to hastily "fix" it. At that point I had given up. I just decided to let my roommate fix it when I got back. Roommate is hung over. Great. So later that day I went back to get someone else to fix it. When I walk in, he wonders why I'm back and seeing someone else to fix it. He forces me to let himself correct the problem (keep in mind maybe 50% of the barbers here speak fluent English). So he sits me down to fix it and this is when it just gets out of hand. Before we start, I tell him to be gentle with the clippers when fading it to the "double zero" I asked for, because earlier he was very pokey with the clippers and it was most uncomfortable. He spouts off some broken English in junction with whatever language they speak there, and I thought he understood what I was telling him. "Ok, no problem," I thought. "Good to go, just gonna get this fixed, then I'll be on my way." This is when all hell breaks loose. This dude goes fucking apeshit on my head. He belligerently starts mowing my fucking skull with the lowest setting on the clippers. For a second it took me by surprise. "Is this guy for real right now?" I thought. After 3 minutes of scraping, I finally call it quits. "Ok, sir. You're done. I'm good." How long was this guy going to keep going? Look at this shit. read more

At this point in my military career, I feel as though once you've seen one BX/PX, you've seen 'em all. Sure, there will be the occasional outlier, but they're few and far between. This PX is pretty standard. Nothing out of the ordinary, but I do LOVE that they have a real Starbucks inside. The selection is on par with the last base I was stationed at. If you're looking to avoid paying taxes on your Victoria Secret lip gloss or Bath and Body Works lotion, head on over. I used to hit this place up all the time in tech school, but I rarely come here anymore. If you live on post and don't care to leave, this place has most of your life necessities. read more

I can't wait to leave this area!! The customer service here is a joke. Every time I've tried to handle a transaction I feel like I'm being treated like I'm pulling something over on the women who run the cash registers. They question everything and are pretty rude when asked questions. Like someone else said over charging is very common and if you don't return right away they want to know why? They also price match but only who they want. It's a shame the employees aren't nicer. It's a military base and a lot of us are far from home and are very friendly. I hope I can avoid army exchanges in the future. I've never had problems like this at Navy or Marine bases. read more

This review is for the firearms department only. The employees are friendly and really help you out. You can have almost any firearm ordered to the store. You can pick up a firearm at rock bottom prices and great prices on ammo especially when there is a sale. Yes ammo is cheaper here then when purchase online through sites such as luckygunner. I will only shop for firearms here. read more

Definitely bumped up their game with the new store. Almost a small indoor mall feel with about a half dozen choices in the food court (and the demise of the lame Anthony's Pizza...RIP), haircut, dry cleaner, military clothing, and the new Exchange proper is much better. My wife even liked it. They have a much larger, higher end selection than they did before. We'll be back - that wasn't true for the old store. read more

I went to the PX on my lunch break today to pick up a bag of dog food. I grabbed the bag off the shelf and noticed it had a strange smell to it, and when I set it down in my cart I noticed that there was brown liquid all over the top part that had been on the back half of the shelf.. I called over an associate and pointed it out to her and her only response was "oh thats the rats, its pee." I am currently 7 months pregnant so handling things with rat pee on them is really not ideal Im sure. She proceeded to wipe off the bag of dog food and the shelf, but I told her I wasn't interested in the bag, and asked if she had any hand sanitizer. She handed me a wipe that she had, but at this point my hands and my uniform top already had rat pee on them, so I tried to wipe myself clean the best I could then headed for the bathroom to wash up. This is just unacceptable. If there is a rat problem it needs to be handled. Food is sold in there, and being around rat pee and poop is not healthy for any of the shoppers that go to the BX. read more

I have to give them two stars at least because they carry firearms. That is the only reason. You cannot even call this place. The 7170 number is disconnected, so you cannot find out if they have anything in stock unless you physically stop there. So there is no sense in taking advantage of their "price matching" because you will find they don't have exactly the same item offered on special at Walmart, or your favorite electronics store. The things they do have are on the expensive side (unless on special from the mailer they send), so I recommend choosing the NES in Bethesda, or even drive down to Andrews AFB as they are far better. As others have noted, the parking lot is rough, and if you are handicapped, don't even try to find a space in the afternoon on any given day. They are all full, and you will be lucky to find an unmarked space in the very back. I will say the cashiers are fairly efficient, but the lines are very long, so plan about 20 minutes to check out- same as most Walmart locations in the early afternoon hours. The facility is otherwise nicely designed, so there is definitely room to improve. They did just have an inspection last week, so hopefully they will tidy some of these things up after having completed that. read more
