I ordered a simple boneless rib dish, and the staff was incredibly friendly on the phone. I picked up my order in just 10 minutes, and they were super polite. They had all the utensils and extra sauces on the side, and the restaurant looked clean and well-maintained. The ribs were super flavorful, and they didn't have any extra fat pieces. Don't let the look of this tiny restaurant fool you. There was excellent quality hiding inside. My mother had shrimp & string-beans. The shrimp was excellent, large and fresh. I had chicken chow fun and that too was excellent. Lots of chicken and fresh noodles. My wanton soup was also not to be missed. Lots of wantons like 5 or 6 in a pint. Driving through Halfmoon, it was around lunchtime and I was getting hungry and decided to pull into Midas, rolling past the open garage bays and right up to the front open double wide doors of Fortune Wok Chinese takeout. I chose the V4 Eggplant with Garlic Sauce served with pork fried rice ($4.25 plus tax-lunch). The food was cooked to order promptly, the pieces of Chinese eggplant sauteed then immersed in the garlic sauce and served over a good sized portion of pork fried rice. The good lunch portion of food served in a round microwavable container (clear plastic lid is not sturdy) was pretty decent this time around. The Chinese eggplant was firm outside and soft inside, but this dish was not too spicy, with a sweet taste. The fried rice like the previous review was mostly firm yellow rice with traces of some pork, peas, carrots, and onion. I was going to visit the nearby Eddies traditional Chinese for takeout but found they were closed on Mondays. The lights were on but they were doing construction but were closed. Although the front door was unlocked. Seeing it was open I took their menu so I'll try to visit again. I've been to the Fortune Wok before and it's your average Asian take out which is fine an the prices reflect that. The employees were pleasant and service fine. Eddies Tradition appears to offer a higher class of Asian take out and has some unique dishes and I was unaware. I noticed on Yelp everyone was giving them 5 stars to Eddies. My plane is to return to Eddies soon, perhaps in the future soon.. I was impressed by so many 5 star reviews for a place I''m looking forward to trying eddies soon. read more

I've been to the Fortune Wok before. I live nearby and it's convenient for me. I was in a Chinese mood, so I went to there. I really like Kung Pow Chicken! Got the food, no taste. Not spicy. This place is very hit or miss. Sometimes, the food (which we have had both delivered and for pick-up) is fresh and sometimes it is bad. The service is quick and the delivery is fast, and the prices are cheap (especially the lunch and combo specials) so I really cannot complain too much. It is a step above mall food court Chinese food but if you want quality food then you likely will be disappointed. Lately, we haven't liked what we got even though we order standard dishes (Beef with Broccoli, General Tso chicken). Perhaps the cooks use different recipes, or they switched brands of bottled stirfry sauces? Who knows? My rating is based on my most recent visits. I don't understand all these negative reviews. This is my Go-To place for Chinese food. The beef and broccoli and chicken and broccoli are excellent. The broccoli is usually cooked perfectly with some crispness. The fried rice is very good.....many places burn the rice but not here. General Tso chicken is fantastic. Ribs are good. 2007; I was driving 8 miles to get to this place because I loved the food. Everything I ordered was delicious. Nice people, really good food. Flash forward to 2014, summer. I ordered a normal dinner for 4 to take out. When we got home the spare ribs were so dry I had to return them. Their explanation they don't barbecue spare ribs, they fry them bc it's too hot in the summer to broil. keywords; "barbecue" spare ribs. Even when i ordered the old standard chicken chowmein i had to "pay extra" for chicken added to it to make it a meal worth eating. Flash again to march, 2015. We tried one last time. We ordered pork lo mein and got chicken. We called to get what we ordered and i drove back to get it. They ARGUED that we ordered combo... nothing of the sort happened. (they even circled pork lo mein on their menu/receipt) I also complained that the bbq spareribs were over cooked and too dry and the woman explained "that's because we fry them, they are always dry" WTF: IT'S NOT SUMMER ANYMORE... My crab rangoon didn't come with sauce (they're lucky I had some left from when I ordered somewhere else last week), and everything else was absolute garbage. Pint of shrimp and broccoli had 2 pieces of shrimp. My "fried scallop" was most definitely not scallops. It was mush and tasted like whatever is in frozen fish sticks. No sauce for them either but I wasn't expecting any from this place. "Cold sesame noodle" was literally lo mein noodles with watered down peanut butter on top, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds (see pic). I will NEVER EVER order from this place again. I ordered delivery from Fortune Wok in Clifton Park and gratuity was included in my order. The delivery person TOLD me to give him more money when he arrived and when I let him know gratuity was included, he called me CHEAP and shoved the bag into my chest before walking off most likely cursing in his language. I've never felt so disrespected in my life! Additional gratuity is optional and for me, based on the speed of service, whether the driver had to go through bad weather, or if the driver is polite and respectful. I wish I could take away the included gratuity. That man deserves NOTHING. I did not even eat the food, I was so upset. I threw it in the trash (which by the way, the food there is mediocre at best and definitely a last resort chinese restaurant). Besides, the food didn't come with any of the sauces or silverware requested. No napkins, and the order was wrong. First time here. Not the worst and definitely not the best.... First thing that got me was that it's connected to a Midas brake shop. Omg ?! Is my food safe ?! Lol. Went in to pick up and it's freezing cold. In general Fortune Wok has been pretty disappointing. I've tried them several times and the one thing I can give them is consistency. Every time I've called to place an order the staff has been short and fairly rude. Definitely no customer service skills. On top of that the food is subpar. And that's even taking into consideration that they are a strip mall Chinese restaurant. I've tried several dishes and almost all of them have been thrown away. This place is great we just moved into the area from Brooklyn ny and the food is wickedly awesome. Just like my favorite spot in Bensonhurst. Egg rolls were fresh crisp and yummy. We recently moved to Clifton Park and my bf is super picky about what he eats. He refuses to eat Chinese food so I begged one night and we tried this place out because we had a coupon. The food was ready in 10 mins, I walked in, paid and walked out. There was no considerably rude interactions in my short trip. Egg rolls weren't bad and the chicken with string beans was pretty good. Bf got sweet and sour chicken, sweet and sour on the side so he basically ate a chicken nugget but they were good too. Overall, we enjoyed it. Meh. Not that Clifton Park is known for its quality Chinese food, but this place would ruin the reputation if there was one. I didn't have any attitude problems with the facility like other reviewers have talked about, but the quality of the food was not great. It was very bland and tasted more like the frozen packages of lo mein you'd by at Market 32 and throw in your microwave. Definitely did not have that Chinese Food flavor I was looking for, which veggie lo mein should definitely have. If you're in the area and looking for take-out Chinese, I recommend East Wok in the Hannaford plaza across from the Clifton Park mall. read more
