    Seafood pasta - wow!
    Jonathan R.

Delightful restaurant in the quaint town of Tivoli. Wonderful ambiance with local artists displayed on the walls to the handmade dishes. All this before the menu piques your curiosity! Service is warm and welcoming and not rushed. Start with warm rolls, sea salt and olive oil. Appetizers will tempt you though I suggest focusing on the main dishes and if there is room splurge on dessert. Prepare to be impressed and love this dining experience. This is what an evening out with family and friends is supposed to be. Enjoy!

We popped in to grab a few drinks before dinner in town and fell in love with the place. We were greeted by a happy and stylish staff that fit right into the environment. The menu has tasty morsels and had we not made prior engagements, the dinner menu would be spot on. We did get a dozen oysters that was served on a bed of seaweed with Prosecco mignonette. Make sure you make a trip to Tivoli and stop in for a few drinks or dinner. You won't be disappointed.

We sat out on the side patio and enjoyed the great early September weather. Family enjoyed their food and the staff kept coming but to say hi and see if I needed more water. There were a couple of us four legged family members so we are all welcome. Great time and 5 paws from me

They definitely have the best selection in the Hudson Valley and beyond that... I'm just not sure how far beyond. Instead, I'll raise my glass and enjoy the casual pub atmosphere as well as the food and drink. Armed with some suggestions from well-researched friends, we enjoyed our pours here this evening. Prices feel more like we were drinking in Westchester County than Dutchess, but still okay. The information on their bourbons, scotches, and ryes, could be better, not just a brand name. If you enjoy burgers, you really can't go wrong here with any of the selections on the menu, accompanied by well-prepared and crisp fries. The burgers are cooked exactly to order, and these meals will come out quickly. The fries are perhaps a bit "Can we get you another drink?" salty. Service here is friendly and very casual, and you might get some tastings if you sit at the bar. They have stuff going on many evenings during the week. I'm sure they have reasons, but I'm very surprised at their cash-only policy. At least in my own circles, having plastic as a resource very often increases our likelihood of buying additional rounds of drinks. They do have an ATM in the back near the rest rooms. But in future visits, I'll be perfectly happy to exchange cash for my food and drink.

Walking in we were seated promptly though we immediately noticed that the interior was extremely dark. Not a big deal but worth flagging for older folks who might have a hard time reading. Our server was friendly and relatively attentive and walked us through the menu. We started off with some classics including their bread and butter (which was tasty and delicious) and ordered their P.E.I Mussels ($19) along with their Fried Brussels Sprouts ($15) to share. The portions were quite large for everything (great if you're in a larger party) but we immediately noticed that the mussels they served seemed a bit off. Many of them were not opened all the way (a sign that they might not be the freshest or recently passed) and had a bit of a fishy taste to them. We ended up not finishing them and flagged them to our waiter. The other items, including the 14oz Ribeye ($43) and baby back ribs ($28) were better, though a bit one-note. The bay back ribs in particular were extremely saucy and the corn bread was dry and a bit tough to eat. I had to use a knife to split it apart as it kept crumbling every time I used a fork. Regardless, it seems like a popular spot for a reason and perhaps we just went during more of an off-night. I'd still recommend checking it out but avoiding the mussels if you go.

There was fun live music and a very chill atmosphere- staff were incredibly friendly and laid back. Everything was fantastic, though we missed having a sauce (ranch or sour cream) for our disco fries. The coolest menu was the cocktail and mocktail menu - so many drink options, tons on tap and apparently drinks to go?! This is definitely a place to try for a fun cocktail!

I liked waking up early, getting a quick bite from their continental breakfast in the lobby, and then heading down to their wooden walkway to get closer to the waterfall under the bridge. Actually, it's been there for 11 years. Perfect location. Just off the main area, but within walking distance to town. If you do stay here, try to get a room that faces the waterfall. Also, take the wooden walkway down to the base of the falls. We started out our morning doing so, and it was quite scenic. The rooms are big, but the walls are paper thin. Expect to hear chatter, like we experienced at 6am. Continental Breakfast was abundant with muffins, cereal, coffee and juice. -The Waterside Spa- My wife signed us up for a Couples Massage, in the middle of the afternoon. But we headed over early. Great place to lie out on the deck to catch some rays and relax. Take a soak in one of their small pools or try the sauna if you dare (at one point it was 190 degrees) The massages were nice, however the "Hot Stone" one was a little too gentle for me. You can actually spend all day here. They have a lot of places to nest, as well as a cafe. Just a 3 minute car ride. -Blackbarn Restaurant- Connected to the hotel, with the same stunning views and a great interior is "Blackbarn" After reading about the amazing and award winning chefs, I was excited to eat here. But disappointment quickly took over. My chicken tasted like it was marinated in vinegar, and the Vegetable Lasagna was made in a microwave. We ordered 2 desserts that we sent back. The pastry chef needs to be fired. This restaurant sucks.
