That cinnamon roll was incredible and that was one of the best cold brews I have ever had. Everyone was super nice. Ambiance!

Incredible. One of my favorite bakeries of all time. I ordered two items: the jalapeño croissant and the pain aux raisins. Both were fantastic. The jalapeño was perfectly flaky on the inside while retaining an almost custardy interior - just how I like it. The pepper gave it a good spicy kick, which could be too much for those who aren't accustomed to spice (it was almost too much, even for me), but it was so delicious, I loved it. Now, the pain aux raisins - ooh lala - it was SO good, it was even better than the one I had in Paris! You could really taste the golden raisins, and it was just sweet enough - not overwhelming. It was flaky on the outside but tender in the parts soaked with syrup - ugh, just amazing! I can't wait to make another trip up to Hudson and try even more items from Mel.

THE MOST DELICIOUS BAKERY EVER. I mean everything is so so good. No matter what you get you can not go wrong. That vegetarian sandwich was so delicious! Service is so so nice and the ambiance is super chill. I can not recommend going out of your way to come to this bakery.

Love all their pastries and sandwiches. The blueberry corn cookie is insane. This is the perfect spot to stop at during a weekend in Hudson

Absolutely stellar breads, pastries, and sandwiches. There are only a few sandwiches on the menu on any given day; only one was vegetarian when I visited but it was outstanding. Easily top 10 sandwich. At $17 each they are not cheap, but they're substantial and easy to split if you're not ravenous. The beverage menu includes all standard espresso drinks, plus some creative seasonal options. There's also highly curated selection of dry goods, a few cheeses, eggs, and small homewares/gifts.

After we overslept for our original brunch plans, a quick Yelp search redirected us to Mel. Do not trust the GoogleMaps directions! They led us to this back alley entrance when we could have easily entered from Warren Street. This place had a long line when we arrived and no indoor seating but it's right next to a little park with picnic tables and some additional seating in the park. In addition to providing coffee and pastries, it seems they have a little market space here too with lots of local goodies. It was cute! I ended up getting the pistachio croissant (which iirc was twice baked!) and my husband got the corn cookie with blueberry jam. It was the perfect brekky to tide us over until our lunch rezzies and fuel our morning walk around Hudson. The line did take quite a while to get through (maybe 20 minutes?) so definitely plan accordingly. This isn't a quick in and out on the weekends!

This place was INCREDIBLE!!! My friends wanted to try this bakery back when they were in NYC but they sadly closed before they could. We all finally got a chance to try it in Hudson and loved it! The four of us ordered 9 pastries to share. I also ordered a chai latte for myself which was so good. Among the pastries, my two favorite savory ones were the garlic knots and shishito, sweet corn and cheddar pastry. My favorite sweet pastry was the raspberries and sweet corn cream. They packed our pastries expertly in a big box for us, and we found a picnic table outside to enjoy them at. We actually loved the pastries so much that we came back the next day for more!

Really awesome spot that has bread that is out of this world, stellar pastries especially when focused on unique pastries like the goat cheese squash Danish, and a great grocery selection. Love their coffee as well, though I wish they did weekend breakfast sandwiches!

Very trendy bakery in Hudson with fantastic pastries. We came here for the cinnamon roll croissant and the jalapeño pretzel croissant. Both were delicious and a great combo together (balance between savory/spicey and sweet). Defintely recommend. Service was great as the staff was talkative and gave us some context on what businesses would be open with the upcoming storm.

Never made it to the one on the LES but came here in Hudson, braved the line, and it was well worth it -- the cookie, chocolate croissant, pumpkin danish, and smoked salmon sandwich were all incredible.

Insanely good spot. I'm not sure if I was more impressed with the pastries I got or the bread, let alone the breakfast sandwich. Everything was worth trying and the group I'd purchased the items for couldn't get over the quality. The cinnamon roll is a must!

this is the best bakery i've been to in the most recent years, you must make it a priority stop if you're headed upstate. the food: all sandwiches were TOP tier, i went twice and both times the chicken curry one was sold out. but my favoriteeee was the jambon beurre with pickles, so good! my other MUST ORDER will have to be the chocolate almond croissant, i have never had a pastry filled to the BRIM with the most delicious dark chocolate and almond filling. second favorite is a tie between the cinnamon roll (super unique) and the jalapeno one!!! the drinks: classic coffees that were pretty good! liked my americano. the space: it's small with a few seats by the bar the service: quick and kind

I've been here a handful of times and have thoroughly enjoyed every bite of what I've ordered from them. The squash and goat cheese special I had today was phenomenal. Pastries always look almost too pretty to eat, but taste even better. It's a cute spot and always smells amazing in there. Employees are always friendly and helpful.

We started with their signature focaccia, fresh out of the oven. Then, a seasonal Asparagus Tarte that was very much a deconstructed version: a delicious butter crust at the bottom of the plate, frisée lettuce, perfectly prepared asparagus topped with a pecorino creme vinaigrette. The perfect spring dish. Next was a Tuna crudo with ramp oil, watermelon radishes, fresh microgreens and toasted hazelnuts. Finally, their take on a Frisée aux Lardons, served with pickled figs. The lardons themselves were nicely crisped, and very satisfying. We had Negronis for cocktails, and a generous carafe of rose, served off the tap. All around one of the best meals I've had. Can't wait for the next menu that Chef Jeffrey Gimmel puts together. Apparently this is a monthly series, so keep a look out and don't miss the June dinner, guessing end of June on a Saturday night?

Talbott & Arding was chosen as our first stop on our girls' getaway journey. Tucked in the Hudson Valley, just an hour from the Berkshires, it was a sweetly energetic beginning to our day. We each chose a sandwich from the counter. My smoked salmon on focaccia was a delight. The bread, airy and light, beautifully happy yeast just bounding with lift, defying the constraints of olive oil which left my fingers gloriously glistening. I haven't had a focaccia as happy as that in a minute. Super thin radish, bright pickled shallot and fresh watercress all gave a nice vibrant touch. Ben's cream cheese couldn't possibly be creamier. And the delicate, silky, fresh, luxurious salmon... What a dream. So balanced. I filled my arms with goods- iberico salami, Aleppo chili oil, Blackstrap coffee beans, local chocolates, and an adorable Talbott & Arding puzzle. I'm sure I could have easily convinced myself to buy just about everything I laid my eyes upon. The cheese counter was an absolute work of art. It's clear that Talbott & Arding is a willing servant to the gifts of the surrounding earth and people. The homage it pays is palpable. This out of the way corner cafe in Upstate Athens is very homey, open, clean, welcoming and has lots of off beat offerings that a regular passer by would not necessarily expect. It has big windows. For one, they hotly cook-up pizzettes, hot and very flavorful sandwiches, soups, coffees and tea. Right next to the register is a clear glass window box with all sorts of scrumptious sweets, muffins, cakes, tarts, choco donuts and cupcakes - that are made each day, I might add. The display is quaint and spot-on and each dessert is elevated on a tiny cake platter on a doily. Next, all the menu boards (above the counter and to the side) are easily legible, for elderly too. The menu that was handed to me was also not too complicated (2 sides) and was laminated, to avoid Covid. The staff was professional, bouncy (music), well prepared for groups that came and friendly. Some staff even remembered what some of the elderly in line wanted, before they ordered. How is that for manners and style?! Go kick rocks down an alley Starbucks! Lastly - the food and drinks here are simply very outstanding. I do not say that often. My cheese panini-style sandwich had layers of molten and hot cheeses, seared onions and somewhere in that mass also herbs and some dark mustard! It was scrumptious. They serve other classics like turkey, salami, ham sandwiches (some already wrapped for quick sale and go). The Athens Rooster is off the beaten (egg?), no track; (just kidding) but the parking is easy, there are lots of seats and even just simply placing (it's a small gesture, for sure - but chefs like me take note) a large jug full of free lemon water with clean cups on the bar counter at the front, really: makes all the visitors days. Cafe go-ers love those water jugs. Believe me! The Athens Rooster is a well maintained, bright and friendly late breakfast and late lunch spot.
