Seriously--even though I was wearing a spring jacket when I walked in the door, Meredith could tell what (incorrect) bra size I was currently wearing and what size I should really be wearing. Meredith was so helpful--she whisked handfuls of bras to and from the dressing room until I found just the right fit and style. Beautiful selection and well priced for the high end brands they carry. Super great! The staff is very sweet, knowledgeable, and willing to run around for you. I basically just stood in the dressing room and the sales-person brought me armfuls of bras! They carry a lot of brands and the selection of larger sizes is great. I have such trouble finding bras that fit me since I'm an unusual size so it was really nice to finally find a place that had what I was looking for. I will definitely be back! read more

I have never, ever enjoyed or felt comfortable bra shopping. I was sized 6 years prior to coming to Forty winks and never really had been again. Although miraculously my size was still the same, the friendly staff helped me find bras that were actually comfortable, functional and looked good with my clothes. Meredith, the co-owner, also special ordered me a specific type of CK underwear when I mentioned that I liked them. The staff is not invasive and makes bra shopping a relaxing rather than embarrassing and uncomfortable experience. I highly recommend coming here if you are in the Boston area as they have a great selection and unique pieces as well as great basics! I will never go to a department store again! read more

This place is fab-u-lous! I went yesterday to completely revamp my bra collection, and what an experience! I am difficult to size being a 32 DD (now a 32F after my experience with Ari) and after trying VS, Gap, and others I was always left saggy and disappointed. I stumbled into this place about 2 years ago, and vowed to go no where else. The store is just beautiful. Girly yet sophisticated with a lovely blend of colors and display options that instantly scream "I'm beautiful and sexy, buy me!" They really pay attention to detail, from the little ceramic hooks to hang your ta-ta holders, to the beautiful lighting, to the robins egg blue ceramic colander hanky panky holder. It's so warm and inviting I'd like to just sit in the chairs when you first walk in, have a glass of wine, and just chat with these girls. They also sell jammies, swimwear, candles, and can order a bra in a different color if it's something you're looking for. Ari was my sales associate this time around and she was so great. She was already working with a customer but instantly helped me the moment I started to aimlessly wander. She brought me into a dressing room and gave me about 4 different options to try. Despite her undivided attention to me, she continued to provide her undivided attention to the other customer she was previously helping, and anyone who walked into the door...Talk about a multitasker! She offered her personal experiences with various brands but was never pushy. She came in with various brands, in various sizes, with the most beautiful undies to match. She checked the sales rack and brought in a 10$ STEAL that fit beautifully. I must have tried on at least 15 different bras. She's also 100% normal and friendly and makes you feel so comfortable talking about something that girls aren't always comfortable talking about. I left with 7 (yes 7) new bras and 8 pairs of new undies to match. Yes it was a but indulgent but it makes such a difference to have well fitting, supportive, and sexy undergarments. I got a mixture of lacy and everyday bras and undies for daily life and for those not so daily life events. The staff was incredibly helpful, selecting several options for me based on the description of what I was looking for (including pulling some sales options!). I went in looking for one specific bra and left with 4 of the most amazing, flattering bras I've ever owned. I was so relieved they found evidence of the gift certificate bought for me since I could not find the actual certificate at home! Rachel was such fabulous help and first asked me if I wanted a fitting and then was knowledgeable about everything she brought me - "these run small so I'll give you this size....these run big so I'll give you this size...". She would tell me what's a favorite but then be honest if it just didn't seem to fit right on me. You'd think it would be obvious to ME what fits ME but honestly, sometimes I'm not sure if it's because I'm not used to wearing a certain kind of bra, or this nice of a bra, or if I'm wearing the back strap in the right place (answer was no!)...should racer backs feel this way, etc. For anyone timid about being fitted, Rachel made me feel so at ease I thought nothing of it. I must have tried on 8 or so bras and the material on a good bra feels so much better than the cheap ones I usually buy. They feel good on your skin, fit you better, and had enough "cutesy" to make the T-shirt bra not too plain. I ended up with 3 bras I love of different colors! read more
