    egg nog latte

I'm very impressed by this new coffee shop. We came early after seeing that they were setting up to open. The owner greeted us and explained with a passion their mission was making good quality coffee. The cashier was very friendly and took our order and made our drinks quickly. We got a creme brulee latte which had a great and sweet whipped cream with crystalized sugar on top. I also opted for the seasonal egg nog latte with a bit of nutmeg on top. The drinks are more than a grab and go coffee, but we got them to stay in big mugs. The interior is quite cozy with beautiful wood-paneled walls, pretty chandeliers, mirrors to increase lighting, and a vintage tile pattern on the floor. It's an inviting place to kick back and relax and sip a unique coffee drink. They had a long list of coffees and teas with no pricing listed yet, but they are fancier and high quality than the Dunkin down the street if you're looking for quality drink and atmosphere. They will also carry an array of pastries they bring in, but their main focus is their coffee and it shows. This is a great addition to the area.

Really enjoyed my first experience here. There were so many specialty drinks to choose from but I went with the Creme Brûlée latte (iced) per the baristas report that it's her favorite drink. Would like to try the Cannoli latte next. There was tons of comfortable seating and was very peaceful. Staff was friendly and service was quick.

This place is super cute and so much seating! The French toast latte was very cute. It was just a tad too sweet for me but I think if you have a sweet tooth this latte is for you. The service is super fast also because this place is new it's not packed at all. I am definitely coming back to come try their other speciality drinks and matcha. Since the matcha looked so good.

One word... WOW. The…read moreCorner in Upper Montclair has that rare mom-and-pop feel that immediately makes you feel welcome. It's cozy, genuine, and the kind of place where you can tell there's a lot of love going into what comes out of the kitchen. And speaking of that kitchen--you can see it from pretty much every seat in the house. Watching several cooks navigate what looks like an incredibly tiny space is almost mesmerizing. Somehow, they move around each other seamlessly, and the best part? The food comes out FAST. My wife went with the hummus, and it was creamy, flavorful, and delicious. But the surprise star on the side was the salted dried kale chip--such a simple little addition, but ridiculously good. Then came my pancakes. Out of this world. Small in diameter, but super thick, with a beautifully crispy exterior giving way to an interior that was fluffy, light, and airy. I've tried making this style of pancake at home countless times, and I still have absolutely no idea how to get that texture. The syrup and berries were the perfect finishing touches. Everything just worked. I've made and had soooo many pancakes in my life, and this is easily top 3 best. The Corner is the kind of place that makes you start planning your next visit before you've even left. I'll be dreaming about getting back to this Corner.

Unfortunately, something about it didn't sit right with my stomach, and the cheese tasted a little off to me. I also ordered a chai latte, but it was pretty plain. It mostly tasted like tea and milk rather than the spiced, flavorful chai I was expecting. Maybe the experience would have been different dining in, so I'd be open to trying them again and ordering something else next time.

Unfortunately, I encountered a severe lack of professionalism and legal compliance from leadership. Immediately upon entering, the barista nicely notified me that dogs were not allowed. I politely explained that he is a trained service animal and asked if I needed to speak with a manager. The barista was respectful and allowed us access. Unfortunately, minutes later, the owner, Jessica Troupe, stepped in aggressively. When I notified her of his status, she was completely dismissive, setting a very poor example for her young staff member. Her confrontational and aggressive approach showed a clear ignorance of both the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination (NJLAD) guidelines regarding public accommodations. If you rely on a service animal, please be warned. I will not be supporting this establishment. I hope management takes immediate steps to properly educate themselves on accessibility laws

The actual doughnut base for all of these were ideal and had a nice balance with the toppings and fillings. Tres Leches - This was dipped in a vanilla bean glaze and soaked in triple milk cream with whipped cream and a cherry. This was tasty. I could not really tell it was three milks, but it was very moist and the cream was fulfilling. Lemon Raspberry Jam - This was a brioche doughnut with raspberry jam and was coated with a tart lemon glaze. This was solid. There was a ton of raspberry jam, and it was flavorful. I actually wanted more from the lemon glaze. The raspberry overpowered it just a little bit. Strawberry Shortcake - This tasted exactly like the frozen treat. I liked the crumbles on top, and it brought me back to eating the frozen treats back in the day. Chocolate Peanut Butter - This was my favorite one. There was a ton of peanut butter filling. It was not like most peanut butter filled doughnuts I had. I could not tell exactly what it was, but it was very good. The chocolate icing just nicely paired with that filling.
