My friend and I ended up at Mokafe because he had been looking for a place to get a cup of Yemeni tea. He had tried it at a friend's mosque and he says he's been chasing that high ever since. We figured we'd try to get some at Mokafe. It wasn't too difficult to find street parking, but the cafe was surprisingly busy for a late Sunday night. We placed our order for Adeni Shai, Dubai Knafa Brownie, and a Lotus Biscoff croissant. Everything was delicious. I have never had Yemeni tea before so I didn't have a bar to measure it against. I really enjoyed the tea though my friend said it wasn't exactly what he was looking for. I feel like it could've done with more spices but it still tasted very good. The Dubai Knafa Brownie was excellent. The brownie by itself was nice and moist with the perfect texture for a brownie. The Knafa set it over the top with the crunch and pistachio flavor. I'd definitely get this again. The Lotus Biscoff Croissant was good, but I liked the brownie more. It was about an average croissant but the Biscoff spread added some nice flavor to it. I think it could've used more though. It was buttery and flaky; pillars a of what a croissant should be. However, I'd try another pastry before ordering this again. The place is clean, they play great music, and the service is prompt and friendly. Mokafe is a wonderful Coffee House and I'd love to come back. read more

I loved the dubai chocolate here but after 2 times, it's overkill. It's super heavy but decadent. Their croissant with the pistachio Kanafe was amazing and I would highly recommend that. The crackling latte was underwhelming so I wouldn't recommend. One thing to note - there's a private lot nearby. They're all local to Paterson and they watch you like a hawk. If you park and leave the lot, they tow you immediately. The shopkeepers and customers both have the towing guy on speed dial so don't park there! read more

Came here to satisfy my sweet tooth cravings. Love their wide selection of pastries and drinks! I especially enjoyed the pistachio croissant and the chai. Their viral Dubai chocolate is a MUST TRY!! It was busy on a Saturday around noon but staff were efficient. Tables opened up faster than expected and the ambiance is so inviting and cozy. Food: I was hesitant about getting the buffalo chicken sandwich considering it was around 10 AM when I arrived. However upon receiving it, it was nothing like I thought it would be. It was delicious and filling. It was perfect for breakfast. The iced chai with hazelnut syrup was so amazing, my mouth is watering as I write this! Service: Service was great! Everyone greeted us upon arrival and was helpful when we ordered. They forgot to bring my friend her tea however offered her a free refill for the mishap. I came across this coffee shop on my way to work and I'm so glad I did! Walking in, you're greeted with modern decor that is aesthetically pleasing and inviting. The staff was super kind and greets you with a welcoming smile. The menu was clear to read and the options were intriguing. I had the maple oat latte which was delicious! I love that the fact they offer oat milk. I also had to get the strawberry mint cucumber refresher which I'm SO glad I did. It's so fresh and delicious. I've been wanting to try this cafe's lattes for a while now and finally stopped in this past weekend with my husband. It was extremely busy and for good reason! Their menu items range from coffees, teas, lattes to sandwiches, cakes and pastries. We opted for some lattes and desserts and after seeing how good the refreshers looked we got two of those as well. We got the following menu items Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso Latte Pistachio Latte Strawberry Cucumber Mint Refresher Pomegranate Refresher Lotus Shooter Banana Pudding Shooter Pistachio Tres Leches The pistachio latte was the star of the show. All four drinks were delicious but the pistachio latte was hands down the best drink we got. None of the drinks were bogged down with ice like some places do to give you only two sips of drink. The pistachio spread in the drink was so good that I could eat spoonfuls of it if it was a possibility. The strawberry cucumber mint refresher was my favorite of the two refreshers. It was extremely refreshing and the flavors paired well together, they put mint leaves in it which was the perfect balance to the strawberry cucumber flavors. The Tres Leches cake was moist and delicious. It had the perfect amount of liquid in it so that the cake stayed moist in the fridge even 3 days later. The Lotus shooter could have used some more biscoff cookie crumbs at the bottom of the shooter since there was a lot of biscoff spread on the top but other than that it was scrumptious! My husband got the banana pudding shooter and he enjoyed it more than he enjoyed the other two items because he doesn't like overly sweet desserts and the Lotus shooter was definitely very sweet. The cafe is super cute inside and their seating is instagramable as are their menu items. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Paterson! read more

I ordered something for 6.50 but was charged 7.50 and when I asked why am I being charged this first he said because you want it hot then he said because of tax....then he charged additional tax. WTH? This was for a basic 10oz cup that wasn't even filled the whole way. We asked for one dessert and was given something else that was double the price. He gave us the difference in cash but it still didn't make sense because we were charged more than the advertised amount. Tables aren't wiped clean either. The wallpaper is nice though. read more

Visited this beautiful comfy and cozy cafe recently and was really happy with it. The cafe got packed quickly which is always a good sign. The service was great. I really appreciate that they have people seating you rather than people doing it themselves. They also have a 2 hour limit so everyone can enjoy. We tried the biscoff latte and honey cinnamon latte. As well as one of the refreshers. It has a sweet taste like jolly ranchers. Biscoff was okay; it's definitely not for people with a sweet tooth. The honey cinnamon was really nice and good and by far my fave; the cups not to mention are large and aren't your average coffee cups material. We also ordered tbe banana pudding (so yum) and the biscoff tres leches. Both delicious. We also ordered the savory bread (I really need to learn the name of this!!!) but also very good. This is my second time here but the first time dining in. We purposely came before the rush so I cannot speak for those who have had a negative experience with wait time/ service. We were able to be seated without an issue. The adeni chai is different than what I am used to but this one had a nice touch to it. The flavor of cloves is much more pronounced which may be pleasing to some and may not be pleasing to others. I thoroughly enjoyed my chai. We also tried their kunafa cup and banana pudding cup in the past. Unfortunately the kunafa cup was not to my liking so this time we only did the banana pudding. The ambiance is super modern and upscale for the Paterson area. Overall great place not so much for studying (unless you come at a slow time) but definitely a great place to hang out. read more

Terrible costumer service. A guy asked us to move tables as we were eating! I have never been to a cafe that asks people to be seated in a specific area and after people have already been sitting there for some time with their food.
