    Breakfast bagel sandwich- yummy!

Great quick breakfast- within steps of the upper cottages of the Strawberry Inn. Cute exterior, dog friendly patio. Highly recommend breakfast, especially the bagel sandwich. Only open Thurs-Sunday.

    Cute little library

Still dreaming of these lemon ricotta pancakes. I love that this was within walking distance from where I stayed at the Strawberry Inn. Being greeted by the birds and sunlight followed by the most delicious pancakes was such a treat. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in town to try the breakfast burrito. Service was kind and friendly and the food is infused with that love and pride that can only be found at family businesses. The outdoor area is the perfect place to enjoy soul warming food with quality company.

Sooo cute and unique! Great little spot to grab something to go or enjoy right there (just keep in mind it's all outdoor seating). They have amazing fresh-baked goodies--breads, cookies, brownies, muffins--and the smoothies are wonderfully fresh. The French toast casserole was super delicious, and the breakfast burrito was really good too with several filling options. Service was great, and we'll definitely be back! They only serve breakfast and lunch, so plan accordingly.

Very nice people and delicious food! Not too expensive and in a beautiful location. Very easy to just grab breakfast then go back to wherever you are staying

Hidden little gem in Strawberry, AZ. Service and food was amazing. I am a sucker for cute, local owned spots and this is definitely one of them! My husband got the Rueben which he said was 10/10 and I got the detox smoothie. Not sure I would get it again, but still pretty good! Def recommend if you are driving through Strawberry!

Loved this little outdoor spot. Perfect if you are in the neighborhood. We tried the green chili grilled cheese & the bacon, egg & cheese bagel sandwich. Both were delicious. Also got frosted sugar cookies to bring hiking , they were amazing. Can't wait to try the breakfast burritos next time!

Cute! Very friendly! This is our second visit here! First time we got the French toast casserole which is a 10 out of 10!! I got a Ruben to go for later but did taste before we even left! Perfect amount of meat, I prefer a tiny bit more sauerkraut, however that's just me, I'm sure it's plenty for the traditional Ruben!

We enjoyed the Ruben, grilled cheese, BLT & breakfast burrito. Everything was delicious!

Great small business for breakfast and lunch. I had the chorizo and bacon burrito. It was excellent. The bagel breakfast sandwich was very good with lots of bacon. The hello sunshine smoothie was perfect bend of watermelon, orange juice and strawberries. Everything is to go. Currently it has to be rezoned to allow people to sit outdoors. This is a perfect use of this thin property on Fossil Creek. East of the mailbox clusters and west of the Strawberry Inn cabins. Walking distance for them to grab something. It is nice to finally have a breakfast choice in Strawberry. You will enjoy. Friendly staff. One cook so it might take longer. Yet it is all made fresh. There are different homemade muffins and baked goods. I will be back

We got here around 1:30 pm just in time for some lunch. As I turned my head to the right, asking what we should eat, we all said "PIEbar" together. Jinx. It's just the perfect little cafe. It's bright yellow so it catches your eye. A line of people waiting to order at the front door was moving fast. Parking is right off the highway and in front of the restaurant. There's also additional parking behind the restaurant down the hill. Stairs come straight up to patio from the lower lot. Beautiful patios surround the restaurant with shaded tables. Gorgeous Ivy covered pines and oaks cover the patio areas. Two gender neutral restrooms available in a separate small building next to the restaurant. I love how the menus are written and posted everywhere and list empanadas in order by popularity. Another thing I appreciate is the size of the empanada and the price. They are small enough and inexpensive enough that you could get a snack but if you wanted to get, let's say five or six because you're hungry for lunch it is still affordable. Service was so friendly and great as we ordered at the counter. I couldn't believe how quickly the ordering process went and we were handed a bag of warm empanadas before we knew it. We ordered: - 1 SAVORY Empanada - The Mountain Man Empanada - sausage, potato gravy, cheese (most popular) - 1 SAVORY Empanada - Chicken Pot Pie empanada (second most popular) - 1 SAVORY Empanada - Picadillo Beef Empanada - shaved beef, diced potato, green chiles, onion, cilantro, tomato, garlic (I got this one and it's #1 in my book) - 1 SAVORY Empanada - Artichoke Dip Empanada (meatless) daughter said this was very good - 1 SWEET Empanada - Apple/Dulce de Leche - warm and yummy! We all split this for dessert. The pastry / shell is very tasty and doesn't taste like some I've tried other places with an artificial taste. It's flaky and filling. Handheld size. Perfect for taking on the go. Each empanada placed in a waxed paper sleeve. They've got a few different very tasty dipping sauces as well. We tried the Creamy Green Chile & Pepita Sauce (mild) and the Chipotle Lime Aioli (mild). Very good flavors and fresh.

They don't really have time to be personable when you've got 15 people in line and more walking up. You kinda gotta get things done.....No rudeness just a busy place and people trying to get things handled to serve their customers as quickly and efficiently as possible. I don't have a problem with that. As for the food, we got five different savory empanadas, and several of their sweet and really the only one that I found not good at all was the pecan, it was very dry and just had a weird texture and flavor that I would not have expected.. All of the savory empanadas were amazing. They are small and premium priced but in a small little touristy area like that, it's what you expect, I'm sure they have to bring in all their product and that means driving and there's extra transportation cost. They don't have a Costco in their backyard so I understand the price is being a little higher, but I didn't feel that they were out of line. Overall, four out of five it's a little tiny open air place, and they are making their empanadas very rapidly baking them and then putting them and holding ovens the temperatures could've been a little higher on the ones that we got that's the only negative that I saw but overall worth stopping in

Two of us had pasta. One of us had chicken with lemon sauce. The two pasta for calamari, spaghetti, and Bolognese sauce with fettuccine. We had bone marrow to start. The bone marrow was teaming with parsley and raw onion. After scraping it off, it was delicious if very little for the price. That was one of the better things we had. The chicken with lemon sauce was soggy, and it was supposed to be breaded and crispy. The pasta noodles that came with it had Parmesan on them and oil but not much else. The price did not reflect what we got. The Bolognese sauce was good, but the fettuccine noodles were so soft too soft And the calamari spaghetti was probably something that should've been sent back because it was extremely fishy. I've never had fishy calamari. My son's hazelnut cream cake was OK and my cannoli was OK even if the ricotta tasted like cream cheese and it's a very small cannoli for nine dollars. My son's strawberry lemonade was good. The espresso martinis, whip cream, and without cream for both overly sweet, but reasonably priced. I had a taste of the only Kiante they sold by the glass, and it was not something I would ever drink it lacked any type of structure or body to the wine. All in all the $270 bill was not reflected in the food that we received. We really wanted to like this place but we're not sure that we'll be back. I would rather go to Duzas or Fargos.

My wife and I spent a week in the Payson area and we wanted to enjoy some really good food, so the Old Country Inn was on our radar. Pine is a unique town with a lot of natural beauty, so we sat on the patio. The highway was busy, but that didn't matter because it was a gorgeous day. Our server Joyce was great. She made recommendations and helped us select the Burrata Pie based on her description. It did not disappoint. I wish I had taken a photo of the whole pizza before we ate the entire thing. Several things stood out. The crust is soooooo good. The char from the wood-fired oven was perfect. The pepperoni was also the best I've ever tried. Now add the dollops of Burrata Cheese, hot honey, fresh basil, and cracked pepper. Best. Pizza. Ever! I've enjoyed the numerous varieties of pizza that are available. And I've eaten at that famous one in Phoenix. Sorry, but I would choose the pie that requires a four-hour round trip over the local fav. Make the drive and you won't be disappointed! We had the deviled eggs, pulled pork nachos, wings, and a blue cheese burger. It was all perfect! I don't normally like deviled eggs, but there were a few of us & we were sharing everything, so I tried one & discovered I really liked their deviled eggs. I liked the bacon touch they added & the spicy Chipotle mayo sauce was so good. Wings were cooked so nicely...light, nicely seasoned crisp to the outside, tender/juicy inside. Buffalo sauce was really good too. Their pulled pork nachos were amazing with all the layers of flavor. The portion is also huge! We definitely had to take most of it home. The blue cheese burger was perfectly cooked with a really good quality blue cheese. Came with a side salad & the blue cheese dressing was definitely a nice one. All this, plus drinks (soda & wine) for 3 came in under $100, which was also a surprise! Definitely a good place to grab a good, very well cooked dinner in Pine.
