Virginia was so welcoming, and was so helpful with samples! On a trip to Durango we came across Honeyville, Colorado Whipped Wildflower Honey, that we love in hot tea! We wish we had purchased more, but are so happy to find out we can purchase it here, rather than have it shipped! Love their selection of local honey from various areas of AZ so, if you have allergies, you can find the perfect honey to help those allergies. My friend has bad, seasonal allergies, and she swears that a couple of tablespoons a day helps! I also purchased some honey sticks for my great niece and nephew, who absolutely love flavored honey! Horrible interaction with the owner. I asked if she carried Manuka honey and she became angry. She yelled back to me "why would I carry that?" Standing there embarrassed and stunned at her tone, I said "because you are a honey store??" She then said Manuka honey comes from Jerusalem and it's not good honey so I was stupid forecasting for it. My husband and I were so shocked and amazed about her attitude when I literally just asked her a question politely. We just walked out. As we closed the door behind us, I heard her yell at us. Honestly I'm still stunned over this. I hope she is reading this right now because I have a few things to say. Let's start with the specific honey I asked about. Manuka honey is from New Zealand. It is made from the Manuka tree aka Tea Tree. It has medicinal properties that are very beneficial to my specific need. Hence the reason I stopped at your store asking about it. Instead of barking snarky comments and belittling your prospective customer, please educate them instead. Your response to my question should have been "what is it about Manuka honey that you are interested in?" At that point, you would understand my need and have an opportunity to fill it. Other than the interaction with this horrible lady, the store was smelly and small. Not much to see anyway. Everything looked packaged from somewhere else which is why I thought there was a possibility of finding my honey there. They charge a fee for credit/debit card also. She was schooling a young lady about that as we walked in. Should have left as soon as I heard that because that was evidence of her tone. Bottom line, the honey is not worth the attitude. read more

Even though I am highly allergic to bees, my love of honey runs deeper than Pooh's haha. I was driving the main highway in Strawberry and saw The Honey Stand and knew I was stopping there. When inside I learned that The Honey Stand is run by the Fuller Family and they have been in the area since 1880, amazing! The Honey Stand not only has honey for sale, but the also have bee pollen, creamed honeys, granulated honey, honey candies, raw bees wax and 7 kinds of honey. After checking everything out, I left with a jar of pure honey and a jar of whipped cinnamon flavored honey. Let me tell you those are amazing, the cinnamon whipped honey melts so smoothly on toast and the pure honey drizzled on a bagel with cream cheese is the best! We enjoyed our stop at the Honey Stand. While this isn't a warehouse of product, they have as much as you'd want to find in a town of this size, and a decent variety of different honey, snacks, dressings, jellies, salsas, and more. We loved the fact that they carried the hard-to-find Honeytown honey line from Durango, Colorado. And I especially enjoyed the fun of shopping in Pine's historic post office, which later became a Texaco station. The guy behind the counter was super friendly, too. Drove past this stand for years on trips to Payson. Finally decided to stop and it was worth it! Super cute stand and the Lady who owns it was super friendly and helpful! She also hand makes little pumpkins as decor. We got the lemon whipped honey and she gave us a great tip to spread it over popcorn for an extra kick! Locally produced honey, I wasn't in search of honey but they looked so inviting from outside, decided to stop by. They have so many different kind of honey with different size. I tasted some and decided to bring home orange blossom. I heard locally produced honey help with seasonal allergy and she said orange blossom is good for those who live in Phoenix. I've been enjoying honey at home since then. I add just a half tea spoon to my iced tea. Too early to tell if this is helping with seasonal allergy yet but even if it doesn't help, this honey taste very good. They also sell some homemade jam, when I finish with this jar of honey, I think I am going to have to drive up north for more good honey. They do ship their goods but this will give me another excuse to visit beautiful Rim country. read more

While staying in Strawberry we drove past the Honey Stand on our way to our cabin and knew we had to stop. Talk about some history! The owner is an absolute delight and has a great story to tell if you have time to listen. He's the sweetest and we couldn't stop ourselves from buying all the different honeys. The entire shop (stand) is about 200 square feet, but it is packed with sauces, honey, toppings and other goodies. I have never seen so many kinds of local honey. I tasted a few and decided upon the Wild Mountain Pecan variety. I am glad I did. I teaspoon of this in my coffee is perfect. Slathered on the other half of a PB&J or in this case a PB&H is delightful. Some of the salsas looked really good, if they would have had some chips and samples, I may still be there today. I guess they have a web site, haven't been there yet, but I will check that out. All the honey seems to be local Arizona products. I have found that the only thing troublesome with honey in a jar is that the twist-off cap is frequently stuck on as the small amount of honey on the top acts like a sweet tasting glue. I guess I should transfer the jarred honey to a squeeze bottle of something that would make it easier to use. Put that on the list for the market. Anyway, a great place, strongly recommend stopping by as you pass through Pine Arizona. read more

The locally produced honey and jams are amazing here. We tried some samples of the honey. All of them were lovely, with distinct flavors with each variety. Some of the varieties we saw when we shopped here were wild mountain pecan, cat claw, mesquite, and pine wildflower. In addition to your standard sugared jams, they also have sugar free varieties. I took home a bottle of wild pecan honey and sugar free prickly pear jam and I'm looking forward to trying both of them out! read more

The Honey Stand is filled with tasty treats! Not just honey but homemade granola, trail mix, dried fruit, pickles, salsa, jams and fruit butters. There are many different types of honey available in all different sizes and yes you can sample prior to purchase. I felt that most of the other items were overpriced but good quality honey is always somewhat expensive but it tastes sooooo much better than what you buy in the grocery store that it is totally worth it. Many, many varieties and seasonal honeys. Several sizes of each available. They will let you taste the honey before you buy it. Fresh and moist out of the sealed package. Great by itself or over yogurt. Another favorite here is the apple butter. This is my favorite bagel topping spread over cream cheese. The honey is good, the service is terrible. After paying cash for a 24oz jar of honey today, I noticed the price tag on the jar was $2.00 less than I was charged. Upon bringing this to the attention of the cashier ( I can't imagine him being any part of the ownership), he said " that must be an old price". After checking all the other jars and finding them priced the lower price also, I asked to be charged the price on the jar. I was told no. Even this would not be a big deal if the cashiers attitude wasn't so bad. Also I was not given a receipt so hopefully the cash made it to the register. As its name would indicate, The Honey Stand sells all kinds of delicious, homemade treats like salsas, fruit butters, and brined tidbits, but of course the pièce de résistance is the honey. There are tons of different varieties here, culled from different flowers, and each with a unique flavor to them. They have the full spectrum from light, yellow honeys to rich, dark brown honeys. The prices are steep, but they sting a lot less when you actually taste the stuff. It's hands down the highest quality, best tasting honey I've ever had and renders completely inadequate the thin pasteurized goop in the plastic bears. The butters and such have generally been very good, some even exceptionally good, and the nice thing is that they usually allow you to sample things before you buy them. That is nice, but, like me, you'll probably end up wanting to buy everything you taste. So, if you're traveling through Pine, do yourself a favor and stop at The Honey Stand.
