We had our first visit to Foster Creek Veterinary Hospital in Richmond, TX today, and it exceeded every expectation. We brought our Chihuahua, Bella, in for her heartworm, flea, and tick medication refill. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and cared for. The entire experience was relaxed, informative, and never rushed. Dr. Shah was absolutely incredible. My daughter joined the appointment on FaceTime, and my mother was with me as well. Even though Bella was the only pet there, Dr. Shah patiently answered questions about all four of our pets. She repeatedly asked if we had any additional questions and made sure we fully understood everything before we left. What impressed me most was her honesty. She never tried to sell us products, prescription food, or supplements we didn't need. Instead, she gave thoughtful, practical advice and was mindful of costs, offering recommendations that were genuinely in the best interest of both our pets and our family. Dr. Shah has cared for our dogs for years at a previous clinic, and she has quite literally changed our lives. When our dog Myla suffered a spinal injury and suddenly couldn't walk, Dr. Shah was honest about how difficult the road ahead would be, but she also believed in us. She encouraged us every step of the way as we worked with Myla around the clock to help her recover. She called every day--sometimes multiple times a day--to check on her progress, and celebrated right alongside us when Myla finally started walking again. She also cared for our dog Marlee when she stopped eating and began vomiting blood. Rather than simply treating the symptoms, Dr. Shah recognized that Marlee was experiencing severe stress because of Myla's condition, which had led to an ulcer. Her compassion and insight made all the difference. With our many appointments over the years, we see firsthand that she is the same with all patients. She genuinely loves what she does. When we learned she had left her previous clinic, I was heartbroken. I immediately started trying to find where she had gone because there was no one else I trusted more with our pets. Finding her here felt like finding a member of our family again. We are beyond grateful that Dr. Shah is now part of Foster Creek Veterinary Hospital. If you're looking for a veterinarian who is knowledgeable, compassionate, honest, and genuinely invested in the well-being of both your pets and your family, you couldn't ask for anyone better. Moved to the area just over a year ago. This was the first vet I used because of a recommendation from a friend. Things have gone downhill since. Front desk staff are polite and professional. Others, including vets, seem inconvenienced by you being there. Also, they use an online pharmacy now, and they give that corporation exclusivity. They will not authorize prescriptions through other providers. If you're expecting a locally-owned, personable service, you may be disappointed. Corporate does as corporate is. BTW, the person who initially recommended this vet just informed me that they have changed vets - for many of the same reasons. read more

This place used to be an amazing, small, local vet with super reasonable prices. Like everything else, it was bought, commercialized, tripled in price, and now it's not so great. The staff is friendly, and my dog gets reasonable care, but they don't know him, don't read his chart, so you kind of feel like you're starting over with each visit (unless you end up going often for an issue). I had an issue with a medication order this week, and I called them for some help/answers, and no one called me back for 48 hours. I found that incredibly unprofessional and frustrating. If my dog wasn't in his last couple years, and if this wasn't the nearest vet to me, I'd definitely look at other options. read more

Our Erin has been going to Foster Creek for almost 14 years. She was undergoing treatment for a UTI and was due for a follow up visit in two days. She started seizing at 7 PM (after hours), so we rushed her to the ER, seizures could not be stopped and she passed at the ER. Went to the FC portal the next morning to cancel the follow up and let the vets taking care of her know...she was already marked as "deceased". We never heard from FC. Even the ER sent us a condolence. Her long time vets? Crickets. I guess they just figured she wasn't an income stream anymore. FC is fine as a large vet practice, but don't expect these folks to care about your pet. They are just an income source. read more

Not impressed, especially for the price. Bought my dog in for a TPL surgery and when I picked her up they gave her back to me covered in feces and feces all over her surgical sight. They were closing when I picked her up and tee he tech clearly didn't care. I asked them to speak to a doctor and they said the doctors have all left for the day. No offer for them to even call me the next day. So I called demanding to speak with the surgeon and stated I wanted my dog on antibiotics due to feces being on her surgical sight. Some random doctor called me back and didn't know my dog or the situation at all and I had to talk him into prescribing antibiotics and wanted to know why they sent her home that way. Doctor had no answers for and it was obvious he did not care either. Looking for a new vet in the area and will be just taking my dog to VEG until I can find one. VEG is awesome for emergency care btw. Also, take notice how this vet office doesn't respond back to any of the reviews on here. Dr Wojtow saw us immediately after my regular vet of 20+ years would not speak to us and asked us to wait to 10:30 to be seen. That may be ok for a regular visit but my 13 year old Boston was screaming, salivating, and thrashing around in excruciating pain. Foster Creek was attentive, responsive and had Dr Wojtow evaluate my Boston. She took all variables and was compassionate but straightforward with her advice. While the outcome was not what we would have liked, I feel she did everything to ease the dogs pain and ours. I would highly recommend Dr Wojtow and Foster Creek for veterinary care. I took my son's dogs to the Cinco Ranch location. After checking the dogs, the bill was exorbitant of which the vet informed me that if I purchased this insurance the cost would be less than my paying separately. Well my son picked up the dogs. I contacted the clinic to ask to cancel the policy. This is were it turned negative, they began to mention procedures that were never done. I only took them back for one follow-up. Thier manager refused to speak with me. She instructed her employees to inform me that I need to continue to pay the $120 a month for at least 6 or more months or be turned over to collections. Absolutely awful. I was an established patient who took my dog in for new onset seizures, she was extremely sick. They refused to even see her, did not care at all that she was an emergency patient. Complete lack of care and compassion. We will not ever be returning with any of my pets. read more

Dr Massie and staff are always upbeat. They are great with my dogs. The new one is very shy and he was just fine with the doctor and the vet tech. Dr Massie doesn't try to push you into anything you don't need or extra services. The prices are very reasonable. They are not close to my house but definitely worth the drive. read more

This happened while I worked there for a while , during 2022. they ended up firing me. blessing in disguise. that is not why i am writing this review. my experience as a pet owner, while working there was unbelieveably horrendous. my dog (jake aka my puppa) was almost 16 years old and had hge (bloody diarrhea). dr powers (whom i tech'd for a brief while) prescribed a med, which did work for 24 hours. that was on a thursday. i was off on that following saturday. woke up took my puppa outside to potty. it was pure blood. took my puppa to fc to have him euthanized. he was old and it was time. sitting in the lobby,clare (receptionist) walked over to me and i said " tell dr powers that i think it's time" she came back with a response from said dr "it is probably just a symptom of his hge. i was welcome to wait but we are really busy. we can call you when it calms down". i elected to go home with my puppa and we took a nap. needless to say, i never got a call back. we woke up about 12:55pm ish. took my puppa out again, pure blood. raced to fc to try and catch dr powers before she left (closes on saturday at 1:00pm). no one was there. joseph (kennel tech) came out the back door saw me crying. rushed back in, called dr powers. she did not live that far away. her response to joseph telling her that i did not get a call back and i need to put my puppa down. her reply was "i'm busy packing going away for the weekend. i can't". i wasn't looking for any kind of treatment. joseph and i could have done all the after care. i ended up racing to veg ,so i could end my puppa's suffering. they were accommodating and so very kind. they were in complete shock when i told them what had happened. fc would have never turned away a client. they caused my puppa, myself and my kids unnecessary pain and heartache. i worked there and got turned away. We love these guys! Our Aussie was a foster-adopt from another vet and we were super stressed about finding a new vet in the area after moving from Lubbock to Houston. These guys were awesome! They contacted our old vet for medical records and picked up right where we left off. Our Aussie has 2 different medicines she takes and has to have her thyroid and cortisol levels checked at least once a year - everything was super easy and pretty fairly priced. Additionally, our pet's veterinarian was knowledgeable, genuine, and patient with our dog. Please DO NOT take your pets here. They do not care if your pet is having a medical emergency (literally on pets deathbed) they will try to make you make an appointment or will send you to the pet emergency room. Great place, we've been taking our 10y old best buddy there for 3y. Their office is busy but the wait time is never bad and he always gets excellent care. The Saturday am office hours and weekday evening hours are super helpful for when he gets sick or my work is busy. They are always amazing at getting him fit in when he needs asap help. They are great at giving options but not pushing unnecessary expensive testing. Gotten his teeth cleaned twice under anesthesia with no issues and significantly improved puppy breath. I live 30 min away but wouldn't change offices for the world. Thanks guys! read more

Went to this vet, which is a little out of the way for me on the recommendation of my groomer. I'm glad I did. Saw Dr. Moore and I'm impressed! He's a no nonsense, straight shooter. He tells it like it is and doesn't push for unnecessary procedures. He updates you within minutes of testing and even pops in to say " 4 more minutes on the results ". He runs a tight ship with customers the focus. He doesn't nickel and dime you. He even suggested when my dog gets adjusted to his meds I can order cheaper though a pharmacy than through them. The transparency is so refreshing. He truly cares for the animals but realizes people are limited on budgets and time. I know they also help rescue groups. So, I will definitely drive a little further to Foster Creek. read more

On the outside, this place seems good. Lots of good reviews, it's a nice looking place, and blah blah blah because in my experience, this is probably the most incompetent, uncaring, and money driven vet I think I ever visited. I spent thousands of dollars at this place while they attempted to figure out a urinary tract infection on my dog. For months and months I bring my dog in with this problem and there is never a solution, only more pills, more testing urine. Then they come up with this reason that the area around my dogs vagina needs to be cut back, a vulvaplasty as they called it. Basically plastic surgery for my dog's vagina. This is the solution they give me. So of course, they are the smart doctors and I'm the dummy with a check book and so I allow them to do a vulvaplasty on my dog. This changes nothing at all. Add more pills pills pills. The infection remains. We keep bringing the dog back. One thing you'll notice about this place is you are NEVER going to get the same vet twice. Every time you go in there will be a different vet attending to your animal, that was my experience. Well in the shuffle of those many visits we get this new Dr, a younger lady who actually thought about it and she says "has anyone done an ultrasound on the dog because every time I get a uti, I do an ultrasound on myself". We aren't the doctors so of course we don't know. She takes the dog back, runs an ultrasound and finds that my dog's entire bladder is filled with a solid stone. Let me repeat that. The dogs entire bladder is filled by a stone that it took them months and months and months and months to find while they tested urine, filled my dog full of antibiotic pills that did nothing, and while they put my dog under anesthesia and did cosmetic surgery on my dogs vagina for no reason at all. So I pay to have bladder surgery done and they remove the stone and FINALLY stop the suffering and end the uti. More recently, I brought my dog in because of an infection on her nose. Think large zit under the skin on her nose. They spend maximum 5 minutes with me in the room. They never inspect the nose, simply look. They write me a prescription for antibiotics for 10 days and 5 anti-inflammatory pills. That's $160. Cheap for this place. As I pay they tell me my dog is due back in less than 2 weeks for her yearly shots.... If you cared, you would offer to do the shots WHILE I AM THERE but then again, it's Foster Creek Animal Hospital and they HAVE to get that $60 office visit charge as many times as they can. SHOCKER! The antibiotics and anti-inflammatory did nothing. I gave my dog the meds and the day after she finishes them she has puss coming out of her nose. There is nothing special about my dog. She is not some medication resistant mutant animal. It's a dog. And this is the worst example of a veterinarian that I have ever come across. I sent them messages which they received and ignored. I sum this review up by saying that, in my experience, this business is just that. A business. It is not a place where you will receive caring treatment. My senior 12 yr dog was diagnosed with pyometra at another clinic . They told me to start thinking about about putting her to sleep. Due to her age she wouldn't survive a surgery . Thankfully i was recommended here and Dr.Masse gave me so much hope ! He explained to me what pyometra was and told me he could do a surgery ASAP. They ran blood work right away and thankfully my dog was a great candidate for surgery! They did the surgery and my dog was fine i was able to bring her home that evening! Horrible communication, long holds, no consistency in care. After they went corporate things went downhill.

I took my Springer Spaniel there a few years ago because of a hacking cough. They took an x-ray and showed it to me saying my dog's heart was severely enlarged. Prescribed Vetmedin and sent home and told to come back in 4 weeks. They did another x-ray and exclaimed how much larger his heart had become and they had never seen anything like it. I saw the first x-ray and couldn't make much of it. Not happy with the diagnosis, I took him to Fort Bend Animal Hospital for another opinion. Foster Creek's x-ray did not have the dog straight on the table. I opted for another x-ray and it was so obvious it was not his heart. He had a mass in his left lung that filled half his lung. There was also a spot near his sternum. That was on a Tuesday and on Saturday my dog leaned against my leg, slid down, and bled out. I will never use Dr. Dunn ever again. She can't do x-rays properly or make correct diagnoses. read more

This Vet place was amazing and so affordable! They took x rays of my Chihuahua's foot and it looks like he has a slight hairline fracture. Doctor was super honest and the facility was super friendly and clean! They gave me some meds to give my puppy and he should be good to go. He was such a trooper and did not cry or Yelp when the doctor was messing with his foot. He was sooo good. Single ladies... the doctor was super easy on the eyes too. My dog Oatmeal "Oatie" was a rescue dog and now a part of our family! He's be going to FCV since he was rescued by the Lone Star Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apso Rescue. FCV donates time and help to this rescue group, which is AWESOME!!! When I bring Oatie here, Dr. Moore treats him with so care. It's great. The staff is so helpful and happy. I've called a few times and the staff always answers my questions. The FCV office looks like a barn house on the outside but in the inside it's totally redone. It's clean and has an open feeling. The exam rooms are clean. There is a K-cup coffee maker in the waiting area and treats for dogs too. FCV is rather far from my place but, they treat Oatie so well here I'm willing to make the drive. So if you furry buddy needs a vet think about coming to FCV where they treat your furry buddy like part of the family. read more

Dr. B and Dr. Moore are just amazing! They know what they're doing & care. I moved to Houston & still drive out here to see them. I was going to a vet in Sugar Land who attributed all of my Boston Terrier's problems to allergies and recommended fish oil/ vitamin E. I saw Dr. Buvinghausen who agreed he did have allergies, but also a horrible yeast infection in both ears, as well as a staph infection on his skin! I wish I would have come here sooner! It's been two years since I first visited and I have been nothing but impressed with the helpfulness and knowledge of everyone I have interacted with. Love FCV! I've always had an amazing experience with the staff and doctors. When my first baby was on his death bed they gave me the information I needed straight forward in a soothing manner. When I got a puppy that had food aggressions they shot me straight again with what actions needed to be taken and how to introduce her into the family.
