Really a great place to take your pets. Dr. Hester obviously cares for his patients and has a "bedside" manner that keeps them calm and easy to work with. We went in fearing the worst, and when the "cancer" turned out to be a cyst imagine our relief. Cyst was removed, antibiotics given, prescription provided - all for under $60 and we were on our way home. So great service and very affordable. What more could you ask for. Now our go to place for veterinary services. A little out of the way for us but worth the drive.

We brought our Chihuahua, Bella, in for her heartworm, flea, and tick medication refill. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and cared for. The entire experience was relaxed, informative, and never rushed. Dr. Shah was absolutely incredible. My daughter joined the appointment on FaceTime, and my mother was with me as well. Even though Bella was the only pet there, Dr. Shah patiently answered questions about all four of our pets. She repeatedly asked if we had any additional questions and made sure we fully understood everything before we left. What impressed me most was her honesty. She never tried to sell us products, prescription food, or supplements we didn't need. Instead, she gave thoughtful, practical advice and was mindful of costs, offering recommendations that were genuinely in the best interest of both our pets and our family. Dr. Shah has cared for our dogs for years at a previous clinic, and she has quite literally changed our lives. When our dog Myla suffered a spinal injury and suddenly couldn't walk, Dr. Shah was honest about how difficult the road ahead would be, but she also believed in us. She encouraged us every step of the way as we worked with Myla around the clock to help her recover. She called every day--sometimes multiple times a day--to check on her progress, and celebrated right alongside us when Myla finally started walking again. She also cared for our dog Marlee when she stopped eating and began vomiting blood. Rather than simply treating the symptoms, Dr. Shah recognized that Marlee was experiencing severe stress because of Myla's condition, which had led to an ulcer. Her compassion and insight made all the difference. With our many appointments over the years, we see firsthand that she is the same with all patients. She genuinely loves what she does. When we learned she had left her previous clinic, I was heartbroken. I immediately started trying to find where she had gone because there was no one else I trusted more with our pets. Finding her here felt like finding a member of our family again. We are beyond grateful that Dr. Shah is now part of Foster Creek Veterinary Hospital. If you're looking for a veterinarian who is knowledgeable, compassionate, honest, and genuinely invested in the well-being of both your pets and your family, you couldn't ask for anyone better. Thank you, Dr. Shah, for taking such wonderful care of Bella--and of our entire family over the years.

Front desk staff are polite and professional. Others, including vets, seem inconvenienced by you being there. Also, they use an online pharmacy now, and they give that corporation exclusivity. They will not authorize prescriptions through other providers. If you're expecting a locally-owned, personable service, you may be disappointed. Corporate does as corporate is. BTW, the person who initially recommended this vet just informed me that they have changed vets - for many of the same reasons.

For All my friends living near / around, Richmond/Rosenberg/Sugarland area…read more Monday night I had to take my sweet Shelby to the Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists. They charged 750.00 just to walk in the door. And refused to let me see her until I had paid in full. Then they told me, that to keep her over night they would charge an additional 990.00. I elected to not keep her there and asked for antibiotics, pain meds, and to clean and dress her wounds, which they charged me another 130.00 dollars. The vet had no compassion, and did not discuss options. I found out later that the Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists is Corporate owned and is all about the money. They really don't care about your fur baby, they just want the $$$. They have terrible reviews on the internet with lots of heart breaking stories of owners losing their beloved animals because of this place. If you find yourself needing an emergency vet, drive past Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists it is not the place you want to go to. On a good note. After taking Shelby home and watching her suffer in agonizing pain, I had come to the realization that I was going to have to put her down. I took her to Rose-Rich vets Wednesday morning ready to say my goodbyes. But then a very kind and very capable veterinarian (Dr. Sackman) walked in the exam room, gave me a big hug and said, this is fixable we can save her. When I explained how much money I had already been charged she said, let me work up an estimate and if we need to, we can work out payments. For three days in ICU all medications and care the total cost was 538.95. AND my Shelby is on the mend and will live a long full life. Since I have so many friends that are fur baby lovers, I thought I would share my story with you. If you decide to take your pets to Rose-Rich Vets please tell them Shelby sent you. I want them to know how much I appreciate all they did for her. And please please think long and hard before you go to Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists

There is sometimes a wait, but I understand how things can be at times with pets so I am patient with them. It's always fairly clean and they offer boarding and grooming as well. Also, they have extended their hours which is really helpful for pet parents who can't get out of work early enough or have a late emergency. Always recommend this place and I will always visit here first with any animal needs I'll need in the future.

I would NEVER recommend to anyone I know. Back on August 17th, my husband and I brought our 2 month old PUPPY, Hazel, we just came home with on the 15th to Greatwood Veterinary Hospital for literally just vaccine boosters. While we were there I mentioned her urine was a little strong smelling but that we recently lost our 14.5 year old dog in April to kidney disease so I don't know what normal puppy urine smells like but just wanted them to confirm her urine was okay. We only had her for 2 days- I had no idea what was normal or not lol. Long story short- they ran a urinalysis and saw she had a UTI and put her on meds. The vet also mentioned she had a little glucose in her urine but wasn't concerned at all about it bc it was so mild and likely caused by excitement or infection. I was concerned though since we just lost a dog to kidney failure and I needed reassurance so we took her in 2 days later for a full blood work up, met with a DIFFERENT dr at this visit who said she was perfectly healthy and her bloodwork was fantastic and her glucose in her urine was nothing to worry about bc it was likely from excitement. Fast forward to Monday the 24th where we had our follow up appt to check if her urinalysis was clear of the UTI. My husband brought her in and I was on speaker... to see a DIFFERENT dr again. I was told this was Dr. Lindsey. I was not told her first name. So now 3 visits with 3 doctors. Whatever, anyways.. she ran her urinalysis and immediately came in saying her glucose had increased and she recommends a full bloodwork panel.... which we just got 5 days prior. She told my husband "no I have notes you guys denied bloodwork" and essentially accused us of taking her elsewhere to get her bloodwork done. We obviously didn't. She finally went to CHECK HER RECORDS and came back and said ok yeah her bloodwork looks good and my bad her glucose in her urine hasn't increased it was a "computer glitch" that stated we got another UA done a day we weren't even there - but then starts telling us how she thinks our perfectly happy and healthy puppy has congenital kidney dysfunction. When asked what we do from here we were quite literally told to REMOVE A KIDNEY (for what, idk?) and have her live the rest of her life with one kidney doing all the work. When asked what this meant she told me the very few dogs she's seen with this lived a very short life and died from early kidney failure. Anyone who's ever seen a dog pass from kidney disease/failure knows how traumatizing it is. I was absolutely devastated hearing this. She also told us they couldn't send her urine sample to the lab to be confirmed because it wasn't sterile because she peed on the floor, which is where the sample was gathered from. Absolutely CRAZY to me. I immediately got on the phone with our old vet (who we only didn't go back to bc she moved and Greatwood is so close to us) - we got in same day to see her and even she said how the vet handled this was insane because our puppy is perfectly healthy and you absolutely cannot diagnose kidney dysfunction off the information she had - especially based off levels on a urine sample gathered FROM THE FLOOR. Even a simple SDMA test (which was never offered to us at greatwood) showed a perfect value. Ultimately, we've wasted hundreds of dollars at this vet just to get her urine sample yesterday COLLECTED IN A STERILE MANNER via cytocentesis, sent to an actual LAB, and confirmed there is absolutely no glucose, non hyaline casts, crystals, or anything else except mild RBC and WBC in her urine (all of which was reported on the in house urinalysis done at greatwood). How much money we've wasted at greatwood vet aside, the fact this vet (Dr. Lindsey specifically) throws around such devastating and severe diagnostics without any evidence or even a sterile test is insane. We will never be going back here again, which is so sad because we loved all of the staff and the first 2 doctors our sweet Hazel girl saw... it's so unfortunate one unprofessional vet who lacks any compassion whatsoever could ruin what could have been a longstanding relationship.
