a lot of these reviews on here are interesting... you'll wait 30-45 min for your car or your drs appointment but not your animals????? this is a DOCTORS office.... times are predicted... you don't get charged more the longer you are there. ive been bringing my animals to this location for YEARS. if you know when to schedule an appointment (during the middle of the day or mid morning on weekdays) I never have to wait for more than 20 min to be seen. These vets and these vet techs are amazing and are actively helping other patients if they can't be with your pet. Maybe think about other people's animals for once. This isn't an emergency clinic. I brought my shiba inu here once for her yearly shots and the visit went good. I come to bring her again another time, this time caused she had diarrhea and wasn't being herself. This was a Saturday, so the dr drew some blood & ran tests & she said she had a UTI gave her an antibiotics shot and said to bring her later that week so see how she was feeling. Sunday morning my dog wakes up weak and bearly able to walk, throwing up yellow liquid and crying. I didn't know why that was happening! rushed to the ER but it was too late. she passed away that morning .. something on that shot is what triggered her and she died please think twice before you accept any shots given to your pet.. you never know. read more

It's not fancy but they care about animals and do good work. The only complaints I have are that they charge for each visit, even if it's a follow up visit- I've never had a vet charge an office visit when the pet needed repeat visits to heal an issue. My other complaint is that her meds are pricey- higher than my own meds. For example, trazodone 100 mg, 30 tablets was $40- at Walmart that is a $4 prescription. Ouch. She will write a script, but she charges $15 each medication. So your $4 medication still costs more than 3x that for the piece of paper. Otherwise her prices are reasonable and she is one of a very few vets who will do a payment plan. read more

The staff has been amazing!! We came for a visit during covid-19 since we lived close by. The fees are all reasonable and low cost! I wasn't allowed inside but I can tell from their personalities my dogs were in good hand. My only complaint is that I use a different pharmacy online so I can have their meds delivered to me. They charge $15 per pet annually to handle the prescriptions and dispense it to the outside pharmacy. I have never had to dealt with that and I think it's quite unreasonable, in my opinion since I work in the healthcare industry. read more

First and foremost, I will say that the vets and techs are extremely nice, caring, and very knowledgeable. My wife and I have taken our yellow Labrador to be seen 3 times now. Only 2 of those three visits did we get seen. The third visit, and last, was not completed, in that, we left before being seen. We have scheduled appointments for our dog each time, with at least a weeks notice. Each time we have waited 30 minutes to an hour to be seen. The third visit, we showed up 20 minutes before our scheduled appointment, and still sat in the waiting room for an additional 30 minutes after our scheduled time. When asked why it is consistently an issue, the secretary stated that they don't always know how long a visit will take, and sometimes it takes longer than expected. This would be a fair answer, however, only if it happens on occasion. There was a gentleman, who had an appointment 30 minutes before us, and still, after an hour, had not been seen. After voicing my problems to the secretary, I asked her if it makes sense to have appointments, when they are never able to keep them. She said, "I understand." To which I replied "I asked if that made sense, yes or no?" And again she said "I understand....". That was all I needed to hear. I grabbed my wife and dog, and we left. We won't be back. read more

Most importantly, the engraving on her urn was misspelled. I already lost her, now I have nothing to remember HER by. Still no issues with this vet from me and I wouldn't consider removing a grapefruit size tumor a small or routine procedure. The surgery was done for likely 1/3rd the price of other area vets and this included follow-up visits and she even did laser treatment to reduce the scar size at no extra cost. My doggy that needed surgery has multiple little bumps and the vet here has always offered to get a needle sample to test for cancer. I also ask a lot of questions when I go to a vet. Veterinary science is no where near as advanced as the human medical science, likely because our pets can't talk. Because of that we owners need to ask a lot of questions when we go to any vet. Remember this is a low cost vet. People always seem to want a BMW at the price of a Kia and that just doesn't happen. Because this is a low cost vet, she cannot offer certain services like x-rays and she had to rent the laser for my dog's scar treatment (and she didn't charge me extra for it). read more

as others have said, they are not the fanciest of operations, But they are good at what they do. Dr. "O" is the real deal, she cares not only about your pet but you as well. Meds do cost more than mine, but then I have insurance to offset mine (get your pet insurance). the staff is all very nice and professional. About reviews with dogs that have Cancers, if you can afford to treat your dog for cancer, you should take them to Kingsland or... I can't. and if you're not willing to pay for the many tests to get a rock-solid Diagnosis it really is a guessing game. I feel for these people but can hardly blame a vet if the tests aren't given. Horrible service and Vet. The first time we visited this center was the very LAST time we will ever return or recommend your services and "expertise"! Our experience was horrible and the veterinarian misdiagnosed our beloved dog and prescribed medication which ultimately caused her cancer to accelerate and her death just a few weeks later. Her staff was unable to draw blood properly and cause our dog to whimper and cry (she attempted to draw blood at least 2 times before the vet decided to step in). I will say, once the Vet attempted to do so, she was more efficient at it than her staff. The waiting room was bare and smelled like urine that had been left to dry in the sun. It was unswept and looked run-down. Seats were scarce and uncomfortable. I will never bring my other three dogs here and will be sure to share my horrible experience with other pet owners. The vet didn't introduce herself when she walked into the exam room. I wasn't even sure she was the vet until she started examining my dog. My visit was to schedule for spay. The vet was intent on administering a must for kennel cough. I agreed and since then my dog has sneezed and had weepy eyes. When I asked the vet if she would be performing the surgery she said "well one of us will do the surgery." Well there is only one vet in the office. The more I thought about it the next day I felt uncomfortable and looked online and found some disturbing information about her license history. I would not recommend this vet or this office. A few days later I found a dog roaming my neighborhood. I called the number on the dog's tag and Katy Pet Wellness answered. The office staff were not concerned about the dog or contacting the owner for notification, or to help me get the dog to a safe location for the owner to retrieve. I was appalled. read more

The patient rooms feel third-world, and the level of care and competence matches. The nurse didn't know where to insert the needle to draw blood, causing our dog pain while trying to figure it out. The doctor told us our dog might have lymphoma, and if so treatment would involve a major surgery. CANINE LYMPHOMA IS NOT TREATED WITH SURGERY! That was the first red flag regarding her competency. She left the room and came back, suddenly having the idea that perhaps this might be an infection. I don't know for sure, but it almost seemed like the kind of guess one might make after searching Google... She prescribed an antibiotic and prednisone to treat for possible infection, with specific instructions to wean her off the the prednisone within two weeks. She did not perform a needle aspiration to biopsy the tissue. Initially our dog's swollen lymph nodes went down in size, so we thought she might have diagnosed it correctly. However, we didn't know prednisone would do that in a dog with lymphoma. After weaning her off the medication, her lymph nodes began increasing in size immediately. We took her to another vet, who explained to us that a biopsy should have been done, and that if it was positive, stopping the prednisone was a mistake. Had we not stopped it, our dog wouldn't have developed a resistance to it. But since we did so at the advice of the dr from Katy Pet Wellness, there was a chance she wouldn't respond to it going forward. The second vet's concern turned out to be the case. Long story short, because of this doctor's inept handling of the situation, we had a few weeks with our beloved dog, when we could have had a few months with her still feeling happy and energetic. This doctor's incompetence caused us to say goodbye much too soon. For minor issues, maybe you can take a chance here and save a few bucks. If you think your pet may have something serious or life-threatening, don't take a chance on third-world veterinary care. Go ANYWHERE but here. read more

Charged me 101.00 for office visit and draining blood from dog ear lob. 30 min later filled up and wanted to charge me 45.00 to do it again. they didn't tell me it would fill up again..after i talked to them she stated it might fill up 5 times and will charge me 45.00 each drain. With this amount of Money you would think you could clean that nasty place up. I think i could get better service at a puppy mill. My dog was too sick of his knowledge base and all he wanted to do was keep drawing blood, ekg, etc. If the test didn't tell him the answer...he wasn't capable of thinking it through himself or asking peers. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE UNSURE IF CAT HAS BEEN SPAYED! We found a stray cat and have been feeding her the past few weeks. She is an adult female cat and we wanted her to get fixed or at least get checked out by a vet to see if she needed the surgery. This vet office refused to make an appointment to exam the cat and insisted we drop her off at 8am on wednesday and pick up at 3. We told them specifically to call us if they thought she had been fixed. The cat also had worms that we noticed and the vet did not offer to treat for that until I said she needed it. The vet calls us in the late afternoon and says they cut open the cat and did not find a uterus. We were then told we would be charged for a spay even though they didn't do it! I'm no vet but there has got to be a better way to see if a cat has been spay before you cut open. This poor cat now has to heal from an unnecessary surgery and the vet was so rude to tell me that she was told to do a spay and that was what she attempted to do. I do not feel this was in the best interest of the cats well being and the customer service for the is place is HORRIBLE! I would never recommend this place to anyone! Nasty dirty people and clinic. I loved this clinic. I took my standard poodle puppy there mid May. They only gave him the vaccines he needed and didn't try to push anything that wasn't necessary. Their prices are very reasonable.
