Zero communication! They find every petty excuse to not let you rent from them. Claims that my application was inaccurate and incomplete. My birthday was off due to the fact that I did the application on my phone so it was just a typo. That could've been resolved with simple communication. Also said they emailed me and that my email was invalid but it wasn't invalid when they took my $50 for the app fee... also denied for no renters history. The fact is people have a time frame to move and there own personal reasons to move. It's really stressful and when these reality companies just don't have any common courtesy to communicate really pisses me off. I know it's cliché but I really feel it's a scam to take as much application fees possible. There not looking for decent people to rent too. There looking for millionaires to rent there Maile 3 bedroom shit hole where people getting shot every other week! read more

Foster realty got some nice properties for rent. They have units that accept section 8 But, YOU NEED TO HAVE GREAT CREDIT. They won't accept you due to poor or fair credit! They denied me 2x for having FAIR credit (607). They pretty much do this knowing a lot of people probably have poor to fair credit and they take your money for the application fee. Or course other things could come in to play for them not accepting your application but, majority is due to credit. This second time around made me realize Foster realty IS NOT equal housing opportunity. Really wish I could get my money back, such a waste. read more

Terrible. Scammers I have called action line to see what I can do about these guys. I feel like they just take my application money and bamboozled me. Firstly my family and I recently looked at one of their beautiful property that recently went up for rental in Maili. Upon looking at the yard we seen specifically a dog kennel slab amongst dog toys in the yard and was told dogs were ok. We put in an application over the weekend and we needed to follow up on our own as we were excited. I was told each adult living in would need to apply which was fine but on my application I made it obvious my partner was the income maker and credit earner. Why would they run my application first if my application was turned in LAST AND turned in WITHOUT supporting documents like my partner?! A full 4 days later ? Even more they can't get their shit together they asked if we had a pitbull which was stated on the application along with Chihuahuas, they then said pitbulls are not OK but Chihuahuas are OK, puts me on hold only to come back on a minute later and tells me " sorry no pets at all at any of our properties" !? They need to get their shit together excuse my language but I'm not sorry. I feel taken advantage of. If they were just juicing the applications to get more money and they had already found a suitable tenant they should've left well enough alone! If you are retired on a fixed income dont bother with them - was told over the phone when I called for a property showing that they will not consider savings as a source from which you can pay rent - even if you can afford pay the whole year rent in advance they require you to have income from a job at least 3x rental amount! Why does someone need to show a job income if already have plenty money in the bank? That's crazy and discrimination against retired people! Also, you have to apply first and pay $20 before you can even get a showing to see a rental property. But since they won't qualify a retired person you are just losing your $20. Read through their other 1 star reviews and you get the idea about them. read more

So the woman in charge gives me a call awhile after I moved into my new home, leaving the home I rented from foster realty. She apologized for all of the mishaps from while I was a tenant. She was very kind and sounded very sincere on the phone. Saying that her businesses communication skills would be worked on and improved so that something like this would never happen again. Which I appreciate. Although what's done is done and cannot be fixed it was nice to not get a fake apology. She also sent my family a $50 gift card that was much appreciated. I just bought a second home in Waianae, HI. I am soo excited about it - I stayed in San Diego during the process and I used George Churchill from Foster Realty as my agent for everything - and I mean EVERYTHING during the sale. He drove my manfriend, his mom and the aunties around (80-90+ y/o ladies) to look at properties and was very accomodating. He sent me listings, promptly responded to emails, and either answered his phone or called me back (3 hours difference so I tried not to call him before 10am San Diego time - hehe) and arranged or referred someone for all the services needed to close the deal (property inspection, appraisal, HO-6 policy, etc.) I tend to get easily stressed out when it comes to a big purchase and George took care of whatever the issue or my confusion was, and followed up with me when it was resolved. He even paid for the mobile notary service ($225 or so for out of island service - OUCH!) to sign escrow papers and has now hooked me up with a painter to get the place painted, including picking up the paint at the Home Depot for me. I've never had any other agent do all that. Both he and his wife are from the mainland so he deals with us crazy mainlanders a lot. I will also be using Foster Realty as my property management co. So unfair how this company does things! When I moved in, I got charged for a whole month despite moving in on the 15th of the month, which I let go. The 2nd day since move in the drywall in the garage was damaged due to leaking. I ended up fixing it myself, hoping that they would knock off a part of the rent but no! The whole garage was flooded and a bunch of my things were water damaged, I let it go. They said that the leaking was fixed, which apparently it wasn't. (One of my water bill's was $700) I went somewhere for a day, came back and the the roof in the garage was down again! Then Foster tried to charge me for the damage saying I was at fault because I was supposed to say something when I leave the residence. Please! Not for a day. I had to finish painting the drywall myself because the shady worker that they sent wasn't able to finish the job because he expected us to work around his schedule. An d I got charged! Then out of the blues Foster was like "the house on the market". Within a couple weeks I got a letter that I had 45 days to move out. I took a whole month cleaning, moving around the things that were in the house. (the house was furnished) I rented a pressure washer and all to clean and I replaced all the screens even though that the screens already had holes when I moved in. Yet, they took my whole deposit! Unreal! I paid them $300 the day I turned in my keys too because of the drywall repair in my garage which wasn't even my fault! But whatever! What goes around definitely comes around... I asked Sylvia why she took my deposit and she said the house was left filthy (lies,lies,lies) I ended up taking Foster to court to get back my deposit which caused me time away from work, court fees, and stress because now I was without a house! I was without a house for a couple of months because they took my whole deposit!!! I was relying on my deposit to use as a down payment deposit for another house. That's why my wife and I cleaned extra and beyond. If I knew my deposit was going to be with held, I wouldn't have cleaned at all!!!! Even during court, they tried to present pictures of nothing! Lies again, oh wait they showed the judge a picture of "hair in the draw" and "dust on the fan" hahaha so funny! I bought 4 boxes of swiffer duster refills just to clean those things and got an asthma attack because of my allergies to dust. But I guess the cleaning wasn't enough for them. And they said they had to charge me for hauling. I don't know what they hauled, as the house came furnished. I even left my brand new microwave, coffee maker, and rice pot because the house's one broke which they said they would contact me and to leave my appliances there. I never got that returned to me...The house was sold for goodness sake! Instead of calling the house dirty, they should've called their company dirty! Btw, I won my deposit back in court! No hard feelings at all, just the complete truth! read more
