After an excruciating 2-week fiasco, I found it impossible to overcome the bad communication, lack of focus and poor judgement at Foster Realty and finally disengaged & went elsewhere.

They don't even acknowledge that we reached out or applied. When a rental became available with Royal Realty, I immediately called the agent listed for the rental expecting no answer. However, he answered the phone immediately and was very pleasant and helpful! I was shocked! I told him, "Wow, thank you for even answering your phone! Most agents completely ignore my emails and calls." Rodney has consistently communicated with me throughout the viewing and application process. He has been the ONLY agent that has done so throughout our three months of hunting for a rental for our family. Just about when I was going to give up on finding a rental, we met Rodney today in person to view the rental and he was so kind and thorough. He explained every part of the home and even took us around the property to show us where the shared units were located, ones that we were not applying for, but that we would be sharing the space with. He took the time to get to know us as people and made us feel seen and welcomed. Most agents we've seen in person unlock the door and just tell us, "Okay you can go look inside" and never really talk to us or show us around. He was very transparent about the application process and the owners needing time to decide if they would be willing to accept our multiple pets. I told Rodney regardless of the outcome, I truly appreciated his timely and consistent communication with us and meeting him today. We are hopeful that the owners will accept our family and multiple pets, but even if not, our experience with Rodney makes us want to find a rental with this company since we know they will take care of us and our needs. But after taking with Sean and Raullen, I was able to take the first steps and felt like I was finally heading in the right direction. Their team was in contact with me basically everyday from the initial calls to viewing, step by step they explained everything, and anytime I had questions or needed recommendations they were always there to answer. They work with the purpose of supporting you, and communicate so well between each other and the other key people it takes to close on home, that within a month or 2 I was signing and handed my keys!! It's been about a year since then, and I'm so thankful to them for being there and basically holding my hand through the whole process. I'll be sure to contact them again when the time comes! And then retaliate charging for normal wear and tear of a house falling apart. We have pictures too. Shameful No damage was done on the property, as stated on the invoice this is normal wear and tear. Also this is a two unit property shared garage cans. With another tenant who also used the garbage cans, where we even helped our senior lower unit tenant dump her garbage the day we moved out, And when we moved in the cans were full and we had to request it to be removed. We have emails showing the cans were full and removed with rental company. Returning property as it was found, no damage done to the property. Normal wear and tear on the invoice and some are not even real. Duck tape so rodents don't go in the house.. wear and tear! And all health issues gone since moving out Security deposit can not be deducted for no damage and just wear and tear, as seen on invoice to the property. The towel bar was like 40 years old! Sean and Cathy can kick rocks with slippers on. Extremely unprofessional and unethical.

He moved out at the 11-month mark and had the place professionally cleaned, yet Sharon refused to return his deposit. Instead of offering a fair solution -- like a small deduction or fine for leaving one month early -- she was completely unreasonable. We even heard a phone call recording where she was yelling at him. It was truly unprofessional. Throughout his stay, the unit had constant issues: workers coming in and out without proper notice, broken fixtures like a glass screen door that never opened, and a general appearance that made it look like a neglected or previously damaged space. It felt more like a rundown, patched-up unit than a proper rental. Do not rent from this company, and especially avoid their Makaha Towers listings. The experience was awful.

Her presentation included clear charts, graphs, and market comparisons that made the process easy to understand and gave us full confidence in her strategy. Costs were upfront from the beginning. We were also in the process of purchasing another home on the mainland and had interviewed several realtors--and no one matched the caliber of Laura and her team. Their professionalism, communication, and genuine care set them apart. The communication was outstanding. We were notified every time someone viewed our home, and we received weekly email updates on how many times our listing had been viewed online, what homes sold in the area, . Laura personally called my husband or me every Monday with updates, and her team sent weekly seller reports with clear next steps. Everything was seamless, using DocuSign, Zoom, and other digital tools that made the entire process smooth and stress-free, even while we were on the mainland. I mentioned this directly to Alesia Borja (MRP, SRES, PSA) before our Zoom meeting. As a listing partner with those credentials, I expected her to understand the program and explain how it works. Instead, the meeting turned into a long one-hour listing presentation, and the Guaranteed Sale Program was not discussed at all, even though that was the main reason I contacted them. Her follow-up response was that she would "connect me with the broker for clarity" and that the program is not designed for sellers who want a home sold in 30 days. That felt like my question was sidestepped rather than answered. Adding to the confusion, my husband listens to Adrienne Lally and Attilio Leonardi on their Saturday morning radio show, where they consistently say that "if they cannot sell your home, they will buy it." That messaging is very clear, yet the explanation I received suggested the reality may be much more limited. Because of that, the Guaranteed Sale Program felt more like a marketing hook to draw people in rather than something clearly explained upfront. Pros: Organized general listing presentation. Cons: The Guaranteed Sale Program, heavily promoted on their website and radio show, is not what it appears to be. Despite this being the main reason I contacted them, the program was not discussed at all during the meeting. Adrienne knew I already have a realtor, who would facilitate my purchase while Team Lally would sell my home, yet the program was still sidestepped. No follow-up has been received.

She should be accepting & reviewing ALL application not detouring applicants from sending in it, And choose best applicate from the bunch for that unit. Teresa Abella is not for community support with the little amount of care she shown to my ohana trying to find a home. She is not committed to her job, and blames her company of being the ONLY one doing everything. Teresa Abella lacks professionalism and integrity and takes the minimum work load possible. She is a disgrace to the people of Hawaii who are in need of a home and trying desperately to meet her beyond half way.

The biggest issue was the lack of communication and transparency. Decisions were made without consulting us, and when we asked questions, the responses always seemed to prioritize Ola's internal agenda rather than what was best for our villa. We also started noticing a steady increase in fees. What used to be a simple structure with a few charges turned into a long list--transaction fees, credit card fees, even fees just to speak to someone live. It felt excessive and, at times, questionable. The breaking point was how they handled our belongings when we decided to leave. We requested our original linens back, but they had removed tags to make everything "community linens." When we finally received items, they didn't match, some were clearly older than what we originally had, and others still had tags from different units. It was disorganized and unacceptable. To make matters worse, we were promised replacements or compensation, but in the end, we were given poor-quality linens that didn't come close to what we had before. Communication during this process was frustrating--calls and concerns were often ignored or brushed off. There are good people working there, but overall, the leadership and management practices made it impossible for us to trust the company. The lack of respect and common courtesy for the people who employ them--and who they claim to serve--is appalling. Based on our experience, I would not return. I have the emails and receipts if they wanted to dispute my claims.
