Extremely aggressive tone from the get go. She seemed to get more frustrated as I wasn't matching her energy over the phone. You can tell that she is angry about the cycle and situation of dogs in our community. (I get it) But that doesn't give you the right to call people who inquire about your "rescue" and harass them. I never took on a dog, and would not in my current situation. Instead, my mother had a stroke and is no longer able to walk. She had a pit mix. As a family we are trying to navigate this new reality and I was tasked with dog placement. She should honestly take down her website. Clearly it triggers her mental health anytime someone reaches out. She doesn't take on surrenders without a $5000 donation. Apparently she has 12 dogs in her home. ‍ Anywho, hope you get the help you need. Maybe try putting all that energy into making a positive change rather than calling everyone who emails you and yelling at them. Good luck on your quest.

We finally found our home sweet home for our 2 labradors, Chuck and Luke. Bit of a drive from the northern side of Roseville, but totally worth it. Neutering/spaying services - we searched the highest peaks and lowest ravines to find an affordable and competent Vet clinic that isn't out to take advantage of Roseville locals for huge profits. We filled out forms to be put on the waitlist and it did take some time to hear back, but the wait was totally worth it. Cheapest price, by far, and no complications post surgery. Vaccine services - most affordable vaccines in Roseville, hands down, with a comprehensive list of services and vaccines available on their Vet Clinic site. Process is simple. Go on their Placer SPCA website, find the service you're looking for, fill out the necessary forms, and simply be patient until they contact you. Service is incredible, staff is very compassionate and loves animals more than humans (precisely what you want) although they are kind to all walking and rolling creatures, and most importantly their prices are fair and the most affordable near and around the Roseville area. Parking can get rough as they're in the middle of a residential area, so get there early. Sacramento SPCA is great too but it's a bit of a drive for Roseville folks. We're so ecstatic that we finally have a Vet clinic to call home for our extended family, Chuck and Luke! Unless something drastic changes, we'll be going to Placer SPCA's Vet Clinic for all matters related to our furry kids.

They were also were responsive via email when I asked a few questions prior to our adoption appointment. The shelter is kept very clean - the dogs really have a great place to stay there while they wait to find their forever homes! The staff are also very knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions about animal behavior and introducing a puppy to an adult dog. I also called back a few days later with a question, and my call was returned by the wonderful woman who coordinated our adoption within a couple of hours. Overall, I highly recommend this shelter - they know what they are doing, their adoption fee is reasonable (we paid $300 for our first dog at a different shelter, CASF only asks for $200), they are clearly excellent at what they do, and they do it because they love to do it, and that shows. We are confident that if any issues arose with our new puppy we could reach out to them and they would be of assistance. Please adopt, don't shop, and consider adopting from CASF!

I cannot recommend staying away from Hearts for Paws enough. I'm not someone to leave negative reviews EVER. But our experience with Hearts for Paws was so awful that I feel compelled to warn others away. We were very interested in doing a trial adoption (and hopefully adopting) a dog from them. We brought her home for what was stipulated to as a 5-7 day trial. When we picked her up, the foster noted some concerns they had--namely that the dog wouldn't do well in a small apartment like ours, as she was currently running on a 5 acre property. They were also concerned that she wouldn't do well with our cat, as she has a high prey drive (though we'd been told by the rescue that she was good with cats). Knowing this, we still decided to give it a try. The poor dog whined every day and night. She'd settle for a short period before beginning to whine and pace again. It was very obvious that she was upset and needed more space. We took her for 3 hour long walks each day, but even that wasn't enough. Further, the whining and pacing intensified, and she started jumping at closed doors, including the door to the room our cat was in. Our cat was petrified. Heartbroken but knowing this wasn't going to work, we reached out to the foster and the rescue. The foster was a sweetheart, and was ready to meet us to take the dog back. The rescue was another story. She rapidly started lobbing attacks at us when we explained we wanted to return her as soon as possible. She said horrifying things, and even told us we should hold onto her longer because "no one had died" so all must be well. She told us that if she had to take the dog back sooner (mind you we were trying to return the dog to the foster, not her), it would risk this dog's and other's lives. She sent us a photograph of a dead dog's brain splattered on the road, telling us this was the kind of thing that happened because of people like us. I won't share the screenshots of her messages or the photo, as it doesn't need to be done here. But needless to say, this is not a rescue worth dealing with, nor is it one who seems to really take seriously what's best for pets. I would not ever go near this team.

She was always quick to respond, answered all of my questions, and made the entire process feel easy and stress-free. My dog received excellent care, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Our dog Charlie has been a patient there since he was a puppy, as they are the only veterinarian he has seen. Unfortunately, Charlie exhibited excessive licking of his paw, prompting us to seek veterinary attention. The veterinarian noted in his records that his allergy was a pre-existing condition. Consequently, due to these notes, our pet insurance will not cover any expenses related to his allergy. Why would they note that it is a pre-existing condition when he has never been examined for his itching or allergy? I have contacted them four times via email and three times by phone. Finally, I received a response stating that they would not alter their documentation because I mentioned during the visit that his itching had persisted for six months. This, too, is false. While he has been itching, there has never been medical confirmation that he has allergies. This practice appears to unfairly jeopardize patients' insurance coverage.
