Yes, you the reader of this right now. You are important to the successful operation of this cat cafe. An important part of this cafe is to socialize the cats with visitors so they become more friendly. Friendly cats get adopted. I found a friendly cat. He came right to the door to sniff me. Then as I entered from one door he was guided to his little stool - very obedient - so well trained I was in awe. His more shy brother always in the background - he would protect him and check me out first to make sure I was ok. The little guy had only interest in my - none of his toys. I gently got closer with some affectionate love pats and scratches. It is a love story of him and his brother and what landed them here. I fell in love with how they were so bonded and took care of each other. My heart melted as they snuggled up together in their little box as I left. If you are curious they are two brothers by the name of some sweet frozen desserts. A cute bonded pair that I spent all my time with there. There are so many other great ones here. I was blown away with the variety of colors and good movie star looks they had. I will be back.

Together, we save the lives of at-risk cats, find them loving homes, and advocate for a future where every cat is valued." The site has a lot of good information about the program, It's history and adoption and foster processes. You can visit the cat Café for 50 minutes with a small entry fee by reserving a space online as well. Lindsey went over the do's and don'ts before taking us inside. The set up is really nice with plenty of toys, food/water bowls and litter boxes. There is a separate area with cats in studios. The color coded signs let you know if you can walk in and visit, if you need to ask a team member or if it's just not a good time for a visit. I enjoyed my time here and met some cute furry friends. Belle answered all of my questions and all staff was super pleasant, I'll be filling out an adoption inquiry soon. The way to enter Cat town is through the souvenir Café next-door. You can grab a coffee, tea or other beverage and a pastry to enjoy before entering the Cat play area or after as there are tables and chairs.

Then I learned that they had a thrift shop that supported the rescue plus having kitties to pet? what more could you want. Finally made it here today on a Wednesday. It is located in the older downtown area of Lincoln. Very quaint with street parking and a very small parking lot of about 8 spaces. It is small inside and you may never notice the indoor catios of cats to be adopted. The one closer to the door is very small with two adult cats. The other side has a double entry door to keep escaping kittens from getting out. Yes Kittens!! There were 4 that I saw with another one hiding. Surprised that they were as skittish as they were considering there was a lot of traffic in there. They limit up to 4 people in at a time. There is a vending/gumball machine to buy cat treats but clearly they were either tired of them or they weren't tasty because NONE of them wanted it. But I still got to pet every single one. I recently adopted 3 and hubs said no more but I tell you if I could find one more to win his heart, we will have 4. I'm working on it :) Now onto the thrift store itself. The ladies working there are very nice. The store is pretty full and priced fairly. All clothing items are $4. Very easy. Its clean and organized. All proceeds help the rescue. Fieldhaven is one of the best local cat rescues I have seen so I was happy to support. I didn't buy anything but I donated money in the jar up front. Next time I will come here to donate my next box of goods instead of using the curbside mailers.

Sat down it got quiet... then a woman approached me with such malicious tone and look and asked if I signed in. I told her oh no I wasn't aware, so I got up to go do so. She then states and there's a fee! I was like uhhhh ok? And she just stared at me with disgust. So I said you know what its ok you guys aren't very welcoming so I'll just leave. Nothing was said. I get the feeling if you don't fit to "look" you're not welcomed. Unfortunately that's the world now. So sad.

There is a fee, but for one, I think it's to help feed the kitties, not to mention make sure they have litter places to climb/play on etc. Also, if you are active duty or a veteran of the military the fee is reduced. You can choose to just get some information if you prefer. All the cats there are adoptable which is great if you can give them a good home. As a visitor who stays an hour you are given a small cup with some little treats to give the felines. The cats definitely have different purr-sonalities. Most of them, I believe are seniors, but I think they also had two kittens when we went. With so many cats there is also a strong scent so be warned if you have a sensitive nose/sense of smell.

Parking nearby is horrendous, super busy even on the weekdays before the rush hour so I can't imagine weekends when people are out or other high traffic times. Get ready to make some rounds and pay for parking and be careful since there's very specific signage and times. The cafe itself is cute and cozy. Front area is a gift shop with lots of cat themed gifts and goodies like keychains, stickers, and such, and also some items from local and small artists too, which is neat. The cafe also has community events like movie showings ("The Cat Returns" was one of them which is a great choice) and cat yoga. If you're local, you can also get a time stamp if you are a frequent visitor. Definitely follow their socials for more information. There's reservations online and you can also do walk ins if it's not super busy. You can book for a 55 minute visit or a 30 minute visit. PRO-TIP: There's a discount for students, so if you want to be surrounded by some feline friends while you study or relax, great place to do so. You can hang your coat on the rack and there's a mini shelf area for your shoes. So you gotta walk in with socks! With each visit you can either get a hot cup of tea or a cold can or box drink from their fridge (sparking water, juices, etc.). Very refreshing and you can enjoy it in the cat area too. Sanitize your hands before and after visiting. There's lots of cats hiding around, sleeping, walking around, and some are super friendly and will go into your lap. There's toys you can play with the cats with and there's a wall of adoptable cats. Lots of seats or you can opt to sit on the floor with the cats too. There's relaxing lo-fi music throughout too. Pretty cool that they rescued 2 cats from Qatar and neat that we got to see them. As with all cats, some can be a bit spicy but it's usually just a warning teeth rub. I own cats so there's nothing new. I'm horribly allergic to the cat that specifically lives in my house, but I didn't get an allergy here, meaning that the cats are clean and well taken for. My favorite was a large sleepy orange boy, Ron (permanent non-adoptable resident) that was hanging out next to me the entire time.
