I love this place! It never fails us. Burgers are good, fries are good! We have ordered the Big Boss, double decker, chili cheese burger (the bigger one without relish), fries, waffle fries, chili cheese fries, onion rings, and the triple berry cheesecake twister - all are bomb! We are repeat customers. We have brought our family here - they enjoyed it! It's really good, good prices good portions - the owner is so nice and values his customers. We appreciate him! Thank you! It's our favorite place to eat in Los Banos!

This is what I'm paying money for ?? Yes, I probably should've checked my food before leaving but i shouldn't have to. It looks like someone ate some before handing it to me smh. The service was good but not the amount of ice cream.

Easy spot to get to! Can't miss the sign!

Not too bad to find off the freeway. We wanted ice cream and heard that Fosters Freeze was the way to go... and we were not let down! The LOCATION- A little off the 5 south road, but worth the detour. Easy to find, and has a small, yet quick turn over parking lot. There's also side street parking, so not bad. They take orders from the outside drive-thru like windows and side street drive-ins. You can be in line and wait at the bench they have in front of the window. The menu is easy to read and follow, prices are clear. There's also an interior sit down area where there bathrooms are, but we didn't go in. It looks clean and spacious and quiet. It's a great refuge from the heat or just a easy spot to chill. The ICE CREAM- Man! we wanted everything. but we settled for the vanilla and chocolate swirl, and the rocky road Twister. OMG! definitely worth the creamy delicious calories- you don't even feel like you're indulging. It's luscious and well balanced. The Twister has texture throughout and definitively worthy the rocky road name- marshmallows, nuts, crunch with the chocolate freezing dip they pour over it. We left satisfied. The STAFF- Friendly and courteous and enjoyed serving us. There's something awesome about eating at a place where the employees enjoy what they serve. The answered our questions and were patient with our indecisiveness, but ultimately served us with a smile- thanks!

**Donuts are great, but the pricing is sketchy!**…read more By far, this place has the best donuts in town, but my recent experience left a sour taste. I went in on a Saturday morning around 8:15 a.m. to get my usual dozen donuts. I selected 4 fancies (aware there's an extra charge) and asked for the rest to be regular round donuts, plus a dozen donut holes ($2.75 per dozen). A dozen round donuts is advertised at $16.99, so imagine my shock when the total came out to **$30.12**! When I asked why it was so expensive, the cashier which I believe is the owner, explained that she charged me per donut--$2.27 each! I pointed out that it would've been cheaper to just charge the $16.99 for a dozen, plus the additional $2.75 per fancy donut. She recalculated, and at one point, I saw the register display **$25.12**, but she quickly cleared it and landed back at $30.12. I explained that I regularly buy the same order and am usually charged **$21.66**, but she seemed eager to rush the transaction due to the growing line. Her solution? Offering me an extra donut I didn't ask for or need instead of addressing the actual issue. It felt like a classic bait-and-switch tactic, and the lack of transparency was disappointing. I love their donuts, but being overcharged and then brushed off is unacceptable. Be cautious and double-check your total if you visit--especially if you're ordering anything beyond the basic dozen. ---

Being able to enjoy a full meal without completely extortionary prices is a rarity in today's world - and quite frankly if you want to get it in California, you probably need to get it driving up and down I-5. Not sure where else you can do it. The set menu is pretty simple. You pick your entree, say what side dishes you want, and they're off to the races with a full-course meal for you by providing family-style sides - namely salad, a lamb soup (fantastic!), baked beans, even a quick easy dessert at the end. Also, a house wine, which I honestly can't judge in terms of quality, but it certainly isn't /bad/ (ie, it's drinkable). As for my review, the main entrees I've had have generally been decent. I've had the tri-tip and the lamb chop and they both have come out decently seasoned, decently cooked. My thoughts on the side dishes: 1. The lamb soup is definitely the best. It's super flavorful, super tender, the meat really falls apart in your mouth. Honestly, the lamb soup might even be better than the actual lamb entrees. 2. The vegetable soup is basically just fine. It's nice and hearty, but honestly not super memorable (in either direction). 3. The salad is probably my least favorite entree simply because it always has too much dressing and is a bit too "rich" for my liking. I've actually found that it tastes pretty good though if you eat it on top of the bread. 4. Baked beans - basically hearty and good with the generous parmesan cheese they put over it. I'm a fan. My actual certified Gamer Pro-Tip is to toss tabasco sauce into it - it definitely balances out the parmesan better. 5. Potato salad - I don't actually think too memorable besides being adequate. Definitely filling. Anyways, the amount of food and diversity of dishes you get is crazy - and it's remarkably rare to see this kind of cuisine at this price point. Finally, there's honestly just not a lot of competition in the "places to eat driving up and down between Los Angeles and the Bay Area." If I had to think of any changes, I really just think they need slightly less dressing on the salad! No complaints otherwise!
