Sent this to the Oroville Fosters Freeze on Monday Feb 2. Never received a reply of any kind. Super disappointed with the service today. Took my wife for lunch today. To start with there was one woman in front of us placing an order. Took forever. Your order taker Had to explain every single part on the Monday special burger to this lady then the order taker got into a conversation with her about milk and something else. Explained that we were short on time so they took us to the next register That starts the second part of this disappointing visit to your place. Gave our order. Asked how long it would take since we were short on time. We were told 5 to 10 minutes. 15 to 20 minutes later my wife when up to tell them to make it a Togo order since she had to get back to work. Come to find out the order was never placed. Seems that register does not connect to the kitchen. Can't for the life of me figure why you would have a register that doesn't connect to the kitchen or that your staff would not know that it doesn't. We paid $21 and change and they gave us back $18. Charged for the drinks. REALLY !!!!! Then gave us 8 - $1 gift certificates. Come on you screwed up my wife's lunch, she had to go back to work without eating lunch and you changed for drinks we didn't drink and felt $8 in $1 gift cards was enough to cover a major customer service screw up. WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. Thanks for pointing out that Fosters Freeze Oroville is on our don't eat there again list. Visited November 10th..see my receipt. This location is in Oroville. I took my elderly friend here for an ice cream cone ( I check on her regularly). As a former missionary ( West Africa) I know the importance of trying to help others! She got a half and half ice cream cone. This place knows how to make good ice cream! We came here to get a sweet treat after having dinner and the drive thru line looked decent enough to go in....WRONG. The overall time from when we ordered to finally getting to the window, was a solid half hour. And then once at the window, our shakes that we ordered weren't even made yet. this review is only about one thing: a Fosters Freeze Twister CRUSHES a Dairy Queen Blizzard! that's it... I have no idea what their food is like but I will go back for a burger some time soon. the restaurant in Oroville had a bunch of young people working with a slightly "not as young" manager and these ladies (they were all female) were turning out orders on point with zero slack... as soon as there was a slight lull, one of them grabbed a wet towel and started bussing / wiping down tables. Okay I miss Fosters in Chico! So it was a delight to be in the area and stop in for a treat! Fries are seriously so delicious and perfectly cooked! Burger was fresh and yummy with all the toppings. Nice and hot right off the grill. Can't go wrong with the burrito either! It's one of those things that has always been the same and always a winner. Big boss I think it was - little big for me but we shared fries so it was a hit! And the cones! Never go wrong with the vanilla cone it's the best soft serve ever!! I love getting a large cone with a small amount of vanilla perfect balance and plenty of ice cream for me! Pineapple banana shake - delicious- now the trick is to ask for more pineapple. Wanted an ice cream soft serve so headed to FF! Makes sense , right? They were out of chocolate so vanilla it was....a little disappointed but things happen. After 20 minutes we realized that we were being skipped only to find out that they ran out of vanilla ---they were waiting for it to freeze . Waited some more , went to the front , and the manager says "what do they want?" And "oh, I think it will be okay". Was still a little soupy so opted for refund ----which actually was fine because the guy who was running the register has no gloves , kept running his hands through his long hair, and was handling cones . And the food part still wasn't ready when I got up there all they had to do is throw it in a deep fryer! And it was over 20 bucks! It's just asinine! We stop here after having lunch on Sunday we decided to get the Sunday Special which is buy one banana split get the second free. We got our order and we didn't have to drive longer than 4 mins away to our destination to which it was super melted by the then. We had to leave it in the freezer for at least 4hrs. It hit the spot I think it's more of a soft serve. We did drive tru so we didn't get to go inside. There was no long line. I'm kind of in love with this place. I'm sadly not in Oroville frequently enough to try all the offerings they have here. I wish they had a Fosters in Chico. I usually get some fries: salty (salt always sprinkled evenly), hot and the right amount of crispiness, and a soft serve of chocolate and vanilla. This is how I reward myself when I'm here. :) I've even tried one of their hamburgers. They remind me of an old-fashioned type of hamburger. Not too fancy, a basic burger, but nevertheless very tasty and economically priced. I've never actually been inside - normally we pass through the drive-thru, however it looks the atmosphere inside looks inviting. And the service each and every time I've visited has been quick. Interesting experience that's for sure. We waited at the register 3 to 5 minutes before another man and a baby walked up to the counter. One employee grabbed the baby and walked back into the kitchen with the baby, came around the outside of the building, met the man again and proceeded to have a conversation with him. She went back into the kitchen area to continue working. After another couple minutes of waiting another employee from the back came out to visit the baby touch the baby and visit with it. after waiting another 3 to 5 minutes at the counter, the employees got one order out to the restaurant and one or two to the drive-through. Only saw two other customers inside waiting. We probably spent 10 minutes waiting at the counter total before leaving without any employee ever talking to us. read more

If the drive thru lane is long, park and walk in for quick service. I just wanted a treat before I called it a night and the line of cars waiting was not moving. I got out of the line and parked to walk in - there was no one in line inside. The cashier was quick and helpful and she made my twister drink right away. I got the mint Oreo cookie twister and I only wish I left the mint out since it was a green liquid from a squeeze bottle - not totally a natural flavor. Literally never disappointed by their food or service. It's a typical burgie type burger. Lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and thousand island dressing. Crinkle cut fries that are always hot as the sun. Yummy chocolate malts complete the meal. A fifth star if they improved their drinks. The tea is awful and they have a pretty standard fountain. Great counter help when they took my order, friendly and helpful on a few questions. It was not terribly busy in there, no one was ordering when I walked up. I headed off to a table to wait for my order. I noticed that the tables were free of trash, and no ugly smears stuck out. This made feel good that they care about the dining area. There were some people already sitting. Tick, Tock...time went by. It took over 20 minutes to get a fish sandwich, fries, burger, onion rings and a shake to go. Watch your Credit Card charge. When I received my credit card statement I was overcharged $10- than the receipt I have ($48-). I called to complain when I got home a few days later to check my credit card because something was fishy. I called the store to tell them about it & they said come in & they will straighten it out. I told them I live in Nevada & it would probably be a few months before I can get down there. They also got the order screwed up I went back to the register & was charged another $10- for the missing burger. The store never gives you a charge receipt, because I never got one, only the receipt for the order ( try to figure out that one, the receipt is all over the place when you order a combo). They also charge a credit card surchage, which is not posted & they don't tell you anything about. To be fair, the food was decent. I don't know if they have crooks working behind the counter or just a airhead. I won't be going back, and my friends who I purchased lunch for won't be going back. There are plenty other burger places in Oroville to check out. Watch your money at this place. I will be disputing this credit card charge. read more

A day of long drive to Oroville, we found this classic style fosters freeze different from the Bay Area.. Location was a bit sketchy as we drove up to the drive thru.. We ordered 2 Milk Shakes (Caramel and Peanut Butter), 2 Large Fries, and 1 BLT Wrap with Chipotle Sauce and 1 Crispy Chicken with Ranch Sauce.. Customer Service was excellent, quick service as well. We ate in the car, which was very uncomfortable, hence, much safer for the meantime.. Dining in was already open and there was quite a few crowd, didnt see people wearing mask despite waiting for their take out order.. Taste wise? It was indeed likeable... Ok, it's a burger joint. But it's an awesome one if you love this old school chain and all they have on the menu. I ate here while on a drive from Sacramento to Susanville. The food was good. I had a burger (great), deep fried green beans (excellent), iced tea (great), and a banana split (good). The huge bonus was the very friendly employees who seem to like their jobs and each other. Just wanted to say it's pretty gross that you guys would let someone cook food without a mask on. Especially when you guys are being ALLOWED to be open under CERTAIN conditions. I watched this girl (crystal) pick French fries up with her BARE fingers (NO GLOVES) and push them into the little French fry sack. MULTIPLE TIMES til something was finally said. Then I was told that it's not required by the MANAGER who then told me this story:: She said someone came in from Yuba city (by the way we live in Oroville, in an entire different county) named "mark" and told them that wearing gloves was unsanitary, and told them not to use gloves, and to just wash their hands. First of all.... sorry but we don't live in Yuba city. Or Yuba county. Anyone coming from a different county telling you what to do with your health codes, is not in their jurisdiction to tell you that, nor should you listen to anyone but your county's health officials? That is the craziest part to me. I can't believe those words were even spoken in my direction. Second, I know that that's not true, and if it was, she STILL didn't wash her hands in between touching FISH and shoving frenchfries in the sac with her BARE FINGERS. That is so gross and I can't believe any of this would happen even OUTSIDE OF A PANDEMIC. No matter what, even if there wasn't an EXTREME health crisis right now, she still broke sanitation guidelines, and none of that is still allowed in the food industry. I had just gotten off two solid days at Quincy's High Sierra Music Festival. Being my anniversary with the wife, it was paramount I return to the Bay Area so that we could celebrate our dinner. But first I had to make my debut sojourn on the Pacific Crest Trail. Stopping off of Bucks Lake Road, I hiked an hour in, then an hour out - some of the most beautiful scenery about, and an adventure I most certainly will repeat before this life's adventure reaches its conclusion. But the combination of the heat and general stamina left me wanting a meal, particularly after enduring a grueling 5 mile detour within the lower reaches of the Oroville-Quincy Road. Reaching the Butte County seat of about 20,000 people around 11:00, I looked for a place to eat. The selections were not encouraging. Closed diners, anonymous-looking taquerias, and a seemingly-infinite array of fast food options awaited. After driving up and down the main drag (Oro Dam Road) a couple of times, I settled on Fosters Freeze, as I hadn't been to one in about three lifetimes. Getting out of the car I was greeted by 95 degree weather with about a one mile hour wind. Stumbling into the restaurant, I saw two tired-looking employees, and a variety of contractor-types sitting around eating their burgers while slurping down their sodas. I chose a chicken sandwich and a shake, and to be fair, it wasn't half bad - certainly it managed to last me until the dinner I had that night. So no, this is not a place that you travel hundreds of miles for, or even five miles. But if you happen to be here and not have any specific cuisine needs, I presume you could do worse. read more

Just wanted to give a shout out to Angela who was was working the drive thru the evening of April 3rd. She was one of only 2 out 5 workers in view of the window that were actually working. The only 2 working were a girl at the counter taking orders inside and Angela at the drive thru. Angela did everything from taking orders to collecting my money to making my sodas to making my sundaes to bagging my food including condiments without asking for help or anyone offering to help. Angela worked her booty off yet did it with a smile. All the while 2 other girls & a guy were doing absolutely nothing. It's no wonder I had to wait in line for 40 min. People if you want to get anywhere in life be like Angela! Foster Freeze managers keep a better eye on your workers and hire more Angela's or you're gonna start losing customers read more
