Well...I made it in the door, buzzed in and sat down. The bartender told me I needed to leave since I wasn't a member. It was club night...whatever that means. Maybe I will research if I need a membership and try again if I do not. Otherwise the patrons there were very kind. Not so friendly to a person who didn't belong there on that night. The place is very dated and had an older decor and smell. It was pretty clean.

The Friday we were there was one of them. I got the filet mignon and mashed potatoes & my husband got the ribeye and fries. We love steak and have eaten at some nice steak houses over the years and I have to say for a bar the food was pretty darn good! Steak was cooked well and seasoned well. We then asked a small group at a table, who were done eating and just hanging out, if we could buy them a round of drinks and we'd swap tables so we'd be able to seat our group together. The people at the table were so kind and said, "yes, absolutely." The rude waitress and bartender quickly ran over, yelled at us, told us how wrong that was of us, and continued to berate us saying it's not okay to do that (even though the people at the table kept saying it wasn't a problem at all). Our party quickly went up to the bar to buy the table a round of drinks, as we decided it'd be best if we just left, and the bartender wouldn't allow us to buy the table a drink because they said they don't serve people like us (we weren't buying for us, we were buying for the kind people at the table). We ended up just giving the table cash to pay for their drinks and we left as we were not trying to cause a scene or any commotion. I honestly can't get over how outwardly mean and vocal the staff were to our group. We've never been treated that way before by any staff at any location. We went over to The 07 Pub and had the best time, with the kindest staff, and amazing food.

Arena Bar & Grill - home for thin crust lovers. And if you need a deal...then order on Sundays…read morewhen a 16" is $14 all day. If love thin crust, then you need to make the trip out to Arena B&G at DuPont & Lima Roads. Arena does have a very good thin crust pizza. The crust is saltine cracker thick. The bottom is cooked so that it is flour white and soft...but stiff enough to pick up an individual square. The edges are cooked with a slight golden brown and crisp. The crust doesn't have any accents like butter, garlic or seasoning. Just plain pizza dough. The sauce the is slightly sweet and has a thicker consistency. Arena apllies a decent amount of sauce covers the pizza well and moistens it up a bit. I like the little bit stronger tomato flavor without a dominating spicy taste. There were enough toppings to create that single layer across the pizza. They aren't piled up such that you toppings on top of toppings on top of toppings. Just the right amount. The veggies were crisp and fresh. I would have liked to had more meat and more of an Italian favoring. Still good stuff! As for the cold pizza test...it was still moist enough to bite into the next day...the crispy crusts were still pleasantly crispy. The toppings tend to lose much of their zippy flavor. Though the veggies are still crisp. We ordered a side of cheese bread. The bread is a slice of Texas toast..so it is thick. They grill it so it has some nice buttery grill marks on the bottom. The edges are still soft. The inside breading has a nice buttery-garlic taste. The mozzarella is piled on nicely. Good cheesy taste overall! Overall, Arena Bar & Grill should be on your destination list if you are a thin crust lover. It's a busy place if you plan to dine in. Service is usually pretty friendly and spot on. They also have really good wings!
