We had a bit of a wait time before the work started due to scheduling and weather and Edward always kept us informed of timeline, setting expectations upfront. Once work started, the team was always on time, very pleasant, and very clean. They set expectations of what the would and would not do regarding water protection in our basement which was very helpful and immediately built trust. They also gave very insightful recommendations to help protect we just had done. Very honest, professional, clean, and pleasant. Would definitely recommend!

I also asked about fixing a tripping spot at between the top step and the first landing. After discussing the project, we decided to redo the entire first landing. The representative from StoneCraft issued me a quote that did not include the post installation. When I questioned him about this, he assured me that he had just forgotten to put that in, and they would certainly do that, and would not charge for that. They did the new landing on July 5, 2020, and said that they had to wait for the cement to set for 5-7 days before they could drill for the posts. It has been over 9 months and dozens of phone calls, and texts with promises of coming "next week" to finish the posts. Now I don't even get an answer to texts or voicemails!! I would STAY AWAY from this company!!!!

I first contacted them to perform core aeration and overseeding to a very tired lawn in the front and back of my house. I have to say, my lawn seems much more durable and the feeling of the grass under my feet is like carpeting! Since they did such a great job with that, I decided to consult them for some work I had been wanting to do in both my front and back yards. So, I contacted Matt Palin about the construction of a curved walkway leading from my front landing to my driveway and a small patio in the back yard to include a firepit. I also asked about redoing my flower beds. Again, my experience and communication with Proscape was excellent! Matt worked with me on the design and helped to pick out the pavers and even let me reuse the stones from my old firepit which already matched nicely with the pavers we selected. When the team came to my house to begin working, they greeted me, and the foreman on the job introduced himself to me. Half of the team got to work right away demolishing my old straight and broken concrete walkway, and the other half started to plot out the patio in the back yard. The account manager stopped by not long after the crew to ensure that I understood the process and when the entire job would be completed. He reviewed the work that was to be done and asked if I had any questions or concerns. I took the opportunity to ask if they could evaluate my landing and front steps because both were made out of concrete and the stairs had sunk and the top pad of the landing had broken in the back right corner. Proscape sent out their engineer a few days later to evaluate and we worked out a plan to fix the damage and upgrade my steps and landing with bluestone and stone veneer. I was beyond excited to see how this was all going to come together! I was hit with quite a shock when the workers removed the old aluminum columns that were holding up the roof above my landing. They had braced my roof before removing the columns and breaking up the old landing, and it was a good thing they did, because when they removed the columns, the foreman called me over to show me that they were hollow, and there was effectively nothing truly holding up the roof over the landing! Normally there would have at least been one support going from the load bearing corner of the roof down through the landing and into the ground on a footing. There was NOTHING! Yikes! The foreman also showed me that the right side of the roof was starting to buckle from the pressure and that's likely what caused the crack in the stop slab and the sinking of the front steps. They went to work right away and constructed a stone column with rebar reinforcement from the roof through the slab and into the ground so that the roof was fully supported. The foreman told me there was almost a 3-inch difference from one side of the landing to the other! That's how much everything had sunk...wow! When the top slab was finally complete the foreman showed me that it was totally level. They leveled the stairs, clad the entire landing and stairs with stone and placed bluestone caps on the top and on each stair and cheek-walsl (which was an added surprise!). Anyway...I went from a drab, concrete walkway, broken landing, sunken front steps, unappealing back yard, and rectangular flowerbeds to beautifully curved-edge flowerbeds, wide curving walkway, large stone-clad bluestone topped landing and steps, and an expanded entertainment space with firepit in the back yard. They are coming back to do a little more work for me because I want my side stairs to match my front stairs and I need some help with a small retaining wall. :) If you need any kind of landscape/hardscape work done, I strongly encourage you to contact Proscape's professional, skilled, and reliable team. You won't be disappointed!!

    Pioneer Basement Waterproofing

We live at the top of a hill, and we've all heard water runs downhill so we shouldn't have a leaky…read morebasement problem, right? Ha! After watching the (ground level) window well in my front yard fill entirely with water one incredibly rainy day about three years ago when I happened to be in the "cellar," and then let go with all of the water seeping around the frame and down my wall... well I finally understood that damp & musty smell my basement always had. Btw, the spot is not directly under the window but off to the side which is why I always thought water was seeping in through the foundation on the side wall where the stain mostly is (water does move downhill haha). Pioneer Basement responded quickly, gave me several options and quotes, and made financing easy. We decided about two years ago to waterproof only part of the basement since that's the area that is usually damp. We also went with the thermal vapor wrap on that part of the wall, and added the dehumidifier which was optional but recommended. Completely solved our problem - and ended the musty scary haunted basement stink entirely. Fast forward to now. I'm again randomly in the basement (for an internet wiring issue) and notice the absolute faintest but-still-I'm-not-imagining-it damp smell. Yup, after another of the crazy rains we've had this year, and... not at a wall but once again about a foot away from another ground level basement window, a small puddle. Of course, it's at a spot without the drain, sump pump, vapor wrap we'd invested in for part of the basement. Once again, Pioneer Basement sent an estimator over within a day or two - polite, knowledgeable, and quick to deliver multiple quotes (finish the full perimeter, do a smaller portion, consider adding window enclosures to tie into the drainage system...) and financing options. This is a company that delivers a high quality critical product, with a great warranty, at a fair and equitable price. They offer exceptional customer service. Your basement will thank you for having them do your waterproofing. And you'll never need to be scared of opening that cellar door again.

They would not return the (steep, expensive, overpriced) deposit via the card they charged upon our request, instead saying they could send another person same-day as the appointment after all -- despite supposedly having only one staffer specializing in the particular work we had scheduled out sick (the things that make you go hmm...). Gut feeling told me not to trust their work at that point. The company being too cheap to pay the transaction fee to refund the card they charged for the deposit, instead they issued a refund check needing to be cashed at their specific bank. Absolute refusal to refund the card we paid the deposit with. We cashed the check same day, questioning whether the company had even enough cash on hand to refund us (not a joke). Instead of apologizing for the whole miserable ordeal as business and customer service etiquette would dictate, instead they demeaned us for becoming upset over some really seriously bad bad bad customer service.
