Let me start out by saying how useless I am with hair and make-up. I've been to several tutorials, classes, one-on-one but I have not learned anything so when I have a special event, I always get my hair and make-up done by an expert. And that's when Molly came in. I found her on Groupon, made my first appointment with her and was extremely happy. I glittered all night:)) At the same time, I've been looking for somebody to do my beach waves. I've been recommended to somebody else but he never returned my call so I asked Molly if she knew someone. Then she goes, I can do it! So I made my 2nd appointment with Molly for my beach waves. Since I never had beach waves, she asked me to come and we can do a test to see if my hair would be receptive to it at all. It was a success! So I came up and got it done. Oh my god, it was gorgeous. Everybody complemented me and I gave her name to everybody who asked. Shortly after that, I went on a long trip to Nepal and the Philippines and when I came back, my hair straightened. I called Molly. What to do? What to do? She told me to come back and she will do it again at no charge. So as soon as I landed, I went back to Molly. She did it again and now, my beach waves is back. I couldn't be happier. It's a happy ending after all. I will definitely go back to Molly from this time on:)) read more

When my last hair stylist retired last year, I was very sad because I loved him so much. I still miss him, however, I am so happy he referred me to Heather! She is hands down one of the best hair stylists I've had in my life. And I'm no spring chicken! I have very dense hair that is a combination of fine, medium, and course thickness so it's pretty challenging to cut. But Heather cuts it evenly while incorporating the style that I want every time. Plus she's just such a nice, down-to-earth person who I enjoy talking to. She has a great vibe. To top it off, I love her salon because it's beautiful, quiet, cozy, and very peaceful. Heather is the best! I seriously love getting my haircut here. I've had Heather do a ton of services for me... -- My Haircut -- Perfect every time! She's done a great job with my hair, and she convinced me to do my hair a little bit differently so it looks more feminine. -- Up-Do -- Perfect! She did my hair for a fashion week, and it was fabulous. Not only did it look great, it also stayed in all night without budging. OKAY, not gonna lie, it stayed in the next day too even after sleeping on it! I gave her just a general idea of how I wanted my hair, and she made it great. -- Make Up -- Heather also did my make up for fashion week... it was great! She listened to how I wanted to look at made it work. The make up she chose looked great. -- Kid's Cut -- Hey, so they also do kid's cuts! My two year old son screamed like a wild man, but she still did an awesome job on his hair. She understood the texture of his hair and did an awesome cut. He looked super cool (not like a normal lame kid cut.) My husband is getting his hair cut here for the first time on Saturday too, so he'll have to write his own review. Just had the best experience with the talented and artistic Molly. She took my hair from fine and stringy, to Vavoom volume. Her makeup application has transformed me from Miss Plain Jane to someone who exudes confidence and feels happy with her appearance. The cosmetics they use are very reasonably priced, and a whole lot less than Estée Lauder, Lancôme, Clinque, Dior and the usual brands I buy from Macy's. It goes to show it isn't always the makeup but the application, and blending of colors that can make you look your best. read more

I broke my leg and dislocated my ankle in February 2015 and haven't been able to see Heather. There establishment is on the second floor and I am not able to climb stair nor walk with walker. They send me my reminder of my appointment and I have had to cancel two appointment and Heather is going out of her way to come to my home and do my hair. With what I have been going through with my leg I appreciate the extra she is giving me. I have never been dissatisfied with what she has done with my hair ad we have done some out of the box experience. Let me first start by saying that Molly is a hair and makeup prowess! With that being said, I was in need of a total hair transformation so I looked to my trusty LivingSocial app to see what local studios/salons were offering hair and/or makeover packages. I came across Foundations' deal that I could not not purchase. What self righteous person would pass on a deal that offered a divine scalp massage, shampoo, deep conditioning treatment, haircut, blowout, and a makeup application all for less than $70?! Not me! I do have to say that I would have, without a doubt, paid the full price for all of these services because the quality of work and the attention to detail along with the professionalism of the staff is almost incomparable. The ambiance of the studio is so inviting and relaxing that it is near impossible to not enjoy your stay. Heather did my hair for my wedding, and she's fantastic. She gave me a lengthy initial consultation a few months ahead of time and traveled all the way to San Mateo for the appointment, which I suppose might be fairly normal things to do... but she also spent considerable energy thinking about my hair outside of our appointments, considering my ideas, remembering my tastes, and making suggestions-- which was certainly above and beyond what I expected. She's the nicest, friendliest person imaginable, and her response to every one of my ideas--including the last-minute ones-- was always, "that's lovely, and we can definitely make it work."
