I have had different waxers, and all have been great especially Wendy who is kind and accommodating. The owner did my brows and she did an amazing job... my brows were in need of a lot of work.... but she did it fast and efficiently. Really the cutest place. Cozy, clean, and well maintained. The owner is genuine and absolutely a professional. I had waxing done in sensitive areas, and barely felt a thing. She takes her time, offers natural products (evening numbing spray!), and cares about her work. The room is small, which I prefer so I don't feel so vulnerable. I don't know why I didn't know about this place sooner. They only do waxing. The products they use are fabulous and from Australia. You walk out clean and soft, unlike some places where the wax is stuck everywhere. They even have a holistic numbing spray you can spray on before you start - I love that. So thoughtful and original. Parking is limited but there are 3 reserved spots with signs for BWL. I used to go to a spa in Santana Row for my waxing needs but I spend most of my time in Los Gatos so I did a simple Yelp search. Thanks to Yelp I found Bare Wax Lounge. The Los Gatos shop is the second location with their first shop being opened in the Willow Glen area of San Jose (on Brace Ave near La Villa Deli). I made a call to book my appointment and requested Wendy because all the reviews raved about her waxing abilities. I wasn't able to get Wendy for the appointment time needed so I booked with Alyssa. The inside of the Los Gatos shop is cozy, clean and elegant (my inner Charlotte York Goldenbatt definitely approved!). I checked in with the front desk reception and was offered champagne, wine or water. I opted for water - it was filtered, cold and refreshing. Alyssa my esthetician led me to the room where the wax service would take place. The room was spacious, clean and the ambiance was relaxing. On the waxing table was a towel, clean wipe and numbing spray. The service I had today was a Brazilian Wax (not for the faint of heart). This was my first time using the numbing spray and it worked well. Alyssa has a kind, professional and personable demeanor. Out of all the Brazilian waxes I've had over the years undoubtedly she did the best (not one hair left, she has great attention to detail). I used the Yelp checkin and my Brazilian wax cost $45. I booked a follow up wax which will cost $50 (the regular price is $60). If you book your next Brazilian at the end of your current appointment you get the $50 price. I tipped Alyssa 20% because she was awesome- making what can be an unpleasant experience quick and almost painless. I've also booked a future eyebrow and lip wax appointments with Alyssa as well. I'm really happy ((Thanks, Yelp!!!)) that I found Bare Wax Lounge in Los Gatos and Alyssa who is one of the best estheticians I've had to date. I just had my second visit here and I'm OBSESSED. I first saw Kylie for an eyebrow waxing. I told her my previous waxer made them uneven and that I wanted more of an arch. Kylie did a great job of finding a happy medium for my brows. We were able to clean them up and start shaping them for what I want. Today I had my Brazilian wax with Wendy. I let her know that I had stopped getting waxes because I was getting many ingrown hairs and I wasn't getting the right information from my previous waxer on how to help them. I've been trusting bare wax lounge with my brows for years. I drive 20 mins each way to here just to get my brows done. I never had anything to complain. However, I took my mom here for the 1st time on Sunday and something didn't sit right with me. I explained my mom didn't speak English so I wanted to be in the room with her. Anna and Mariah explained that due to Covid they try to limit number of people in a room so they each would do my and my mom's brows at the same time in different rooms. I said ok that is understandable. The lady who did mine, asked if my mom understood some English. I said yes. She then asked would my mom know to wait then if hers were finished before my brows. I said yes. But then it didn't make me feel good about that question. My mom doesn't speak English but of course she understands commonsense. What else would she be doing instead of waiting? We are Asian, not stupid clueless human beings. At the end, instead of making me feel pampered and pretty, she mentioned: ok I think this is all I could do. Check and let me know. I've been coming here for about eight months and though I've since moved about a half hour away, I'm still a loyal customer and come back for all my waxes. I've had Brazilians done by three different women, including the owner Wendy (the other two were Ariel and Brittany), and they are all consistent - they do a great job, are friendly, reassuring, and just super pleasant. It's nice that when my schedule changes and I have to see a new specialist, I don't feel thrown off by it - my experience has been that they are all fantastic. I was pretty nervous and felt awkward before getting my first Brazilian, but now know I had nothing to fear - the ladies who work here really do put your mind at ease, especially that first time around. Really glad I took the plunge and chose the right place based on other Yelp reviews. The Bare wax lounge is elegant and beautiful I'm inspired by their decor. I've followed Wendy from the Willow Glen location because she has done amazing work on my skin. As an African women my skin can be really irritated with in grown hair bumps. Her technique combined with the natural products she uses have made ALL the difference! I just moved back to the area and I was looking for a place to go to get a wax. I found this place on Yelp and I am so happy that I went in and gave them a try. They were fantastic! I was able to make an appointment right through their website and it was super simple. I got an email right away confirming the appointment. When I got there that morning, I wasn't sure exactly where they were located in downtown Los Gatos, but I found them pretty easily once I got there. (They are right behind Mr. Pickles Sandwich shop) I walked in and I was their first appointment of the day. The girl sitting at the desk was super sweet and greeted me right as I walked in. The inside of the salon was super cute as well. It was decorated very classy and it felt very comfortable. It was also super cute with the staircase at the back, which reminded me of all the old homes in New Orleans where I used to live. The girl who did my wax Jayme was amazing! She was super sweet and easy to talk to. I booked my next appointment as I was leaving because I enjoyed it so much. Used to come to Bare Wax when there was no other reasonable place nearby that I liked for eyebrow waxing. Very over priced for the quality of their service- especially since I had to go home and fix my eyebrows myself or start smearing on the aloe vera because they don't know how to not make the wax boiling hot.
