This is the server who refused to provide her name and cover up her name badge. Her name is Tiba

On Thursday, August 7th at 9:40, my husband and I decided to come down and dine at the Fountain Wine Bar in Seattle. It's a restaurant underneath the Sheraton Grand in downtown Seattle. We had visited here the previous night, but only had drinks. Being that we were spending a week at the hotel, we decided to keep it local and have dinner nearby as we had been sightseeing all day and were exhausted. Upon arriving at the restaurant we walked right in and had a seat at a nearby available table. Mind you, there is no check in available. It's a "seat yourself" type of place and a server will approach you at their earliest. We waited about 20-25 minutes with no acknowledged whatsoever by the servers walking by. Other guests who arrived much later were being served much faster. So my husband decided to just go up to the bar and order the food and drinks himself while I waited at the table. Soon after, a server approached the table and began placing napkins down. She didn't even greet me. She looked up at my husband ordering at the bar and said, "Oh, he went up there to order?" and continued to slap the napkin in front of me and walked away. Not even asking if I needed anything. When I told her that he decided to order at the bar because we had waited for a long time, "she turned away from me, walked to an adjacent table to take their order all while making a shooshing hand gesture at me. Naturally I was offended by this. When I went over to ask for her name, she covered her name badge and said no. I mean, why even wear a name badge if you are going to cover it up anyway? I walked over to the bar tender to where my husband was and asked if he could provide me with her name so that I may formally file a complain against her. The bartender asked me who it was and when I pointed at her he chuckled and sighed and said, with a smile "oh yeah" rolled his eyes and said he could not disclose her name to me. I was shocked by the secrecy of it all. Working for a large company myself, this type of behavior would be extremely unacceptable. My husband approached the server and asked if there was a problem and she became irate, asking for the room number we were staying in, all while covering up her name badge. She dashed out the restaurant to get her manager as we asked her to do so, but before doing so she yelled near the elevators , making sure security was alerted and my husband and I were stopped by security and forced to explain to them what had happened. Fortunately, the security guards gave us the servers name...Tiba (not sure about the spelling) and we decided to go back up to the room and call the hotel to file a former complaint about the incident. Whoever was managing that night didn't really do much over the phone. All she said was "it's been a long night and we all need sleep. Let's all talk in the morning." Again, I was beyond shocked by her response. She promised to follow up in the morning. It's now been four days with no word on the follow up. It's also impossible to get through to anyone when you try and contact the lobby. You have to physically go down if you need to speak with anyone since no one will ever answer the phones. This experience was completely ruined by Tiba and the hotels staff as they did nothing to help resolve this issue with their Elite members. Truly a disappointing experience. Do not dine here. Service is terrible.

Fountain Wine Bar is the standard in-house hotel restaurant/bar if you don't want to venture out. The décor is modern yet simple. The atmosphere is casual with a mix of chill and peppy energy (depending on the day/evening). I sat by the bar and was quickly greeted by the bartender. I had the angus burger and fries paired with a refreshing pomegranate margarita. Overall solid experience as the bartender was pleasant and attentive. Prices are reasonable considering it's downtown Seattle. It's a great choice if you're staying at the Sheraton.

Stumbled upon Fountain Wine Bar & Lounge. Ordered the Kale Salad with sirloin. The meal was delicious and the service was great.

The service is poor for no real reason. I am sitting here at my table RIGHT NOW and have yet to hear from any of the two servers that have been standing at the bar for 10mins - post taking my order. They are nice enough, but follow up makes the difference between making $60 in a sale plus tip and $24 with none. There are 9 people in here total!!!! I just counted!!!! Sorry guys you are missing the mark here. Consider the fact most of the people you will encounter are on business and they have a stipend for food. Get it together! I would do 2.5, but Yelp won't let me be petty lol.

Cheese Board, $9. Definitely worth it. Doesn't look like much but flavor is noice

Great little hotel bar. Fantastic service and everything was delicious! Steak lettuce wraps were cooked to perfection. Cheese board was unexpectedly good and kale Caesar was just right.

Vanilla vodka martini was unique and very good

Would have been 2 star but finally got a bar seat and the fun bartender made a great vanilla vodka martini. Too expensive and not enough bar seating which a single wants. Lots of lounge seating. $15 popcorn shrimp was way too expensive for puny amount served. Just arrived around 10 and Loulay bar in Sheraton already closed. Again the vanilla martini helped me like the place a bit but the nearby bars in city are better value and fun

This is a pretty standard hotel bar. The service was fine, but I think there was only one server. I had a "Washington Apple" cocktail with rye, apple and vanilla liqueur and it was the most disgusting drink I've ever had. I couldn't even finish it quickly. It turned my stomach. I would look for another place in the area for a drink.

Very loud, the cocktail I had was overly sweet, and the key lime pie I had was not very good! Took a very long time to get our drinks too.

She recommended a Mezcal cocktail that was a great start! Surprising because it wasn't smoky typical to Mezcal, just perfectly balanced. Exactly what I wanted. For my main, I went with the short rib pappardelle. It was incredibly rich, and the meat was cooked to perfection. Hailee was attentive and made me feel welcome at the table, which isn't always the case when you're a party of one. Incredible service and an all-around top-tier meal. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Seattle!

The hostess walked us through the entire restaurant to the dark back wall, behind the bar. With tall bar chairs. Explained we didn't want that, she walked us back through the entire restaurant to a nice table up front by the windows. Tried a Malbec duo. One was delicious and didn't like the other at all; oddly tannic. The grilled mortadella should have been more grilled. Sitting in a generous portion of burratta-like cheese, olive oil and pistachio butter, it was delicious. But desperately needed some bread. How do eat this without any bread? Once the mortadella is gone, you are just eating spoonfuls of cheese, oil and butter? We hadn't seen our waitress since the app arrived. Having finished the mortadella we finally flagged down someone and asked if we could get a little bread. He said he would handle it right away. Another 10 minutes goes by and our waitress came by. Apologized for not being around and went to see about the bread. Finally got the bread, and it was delicious. But sooooo oily! Like a sponge it dozed oil every time I tried to break off a piece. Was dying to wash my hands. Our entrées were ok. The fried chicken with fusilli was pretty good, but difficult to eat in the deep bowl. Hard to cut. The crispy tofu wrap wasn't crispy and wasn't made well. I have absolutely no idea what flavor profile it was meant to be. Just muddy. I tried to eat the first half. It was stuffed so full it was impossible to eat. I took out more than half the filling before I could manage it. When I got to the second half I understood the issue. There was almost no crispy tofu, but lots of lettuce and other fillings. Maybe it would have eaten better if it had been constructed better. The fries were fine. Pleasant server, but perhaps had too many tables as we didn't get the service expected. It's been a long time since dining at the downtown Purple. Likely wouldn't go back.

Amazing wines, creative cocktails, solid snacks, great service and even games. You could wander in "for one flight" and somehow emerge six hours later wondering where the time went (in the best way.) On the wine side, they offer several thoughtfully curated flights, or you can build your own adventure. Which I highly recommend. The dessert wines alone are incredible, and the selection of aromatic whites is seriously impressive. No matter your palate, there's something here that will make you pause, sip again, and nod approvingly. And then there are the wine-based cocktails that deserve their own standing ovation. A wine tasting room doing cocktails this well is rare. We tried the Espresso Martini, the French 125, and the Lavender Lemon Martini, and every single one was better than I expected grape-based cocktails to be. Like, pleasantly shocked. Bottom line: if you're anywhere near Pike Place and enjoy wine (or cocktails, or fun, or all of the above) this place is a must. I can almost guarantee it'll become your new favorite spot.

This used to be one of my favorite spots at Pike Market. For years, I made it a tradition to bring out-of-town guests here. Over time, I have brought more than 100 people here. It had a charming, warm, and welcoming feel--like a hidden gem in the city. It oozed with kindness and fun. Unfortunately, that has completely flipped! Since the new manager, Anthony, took over, the entire atmosphere has shocked me. What was once inviting now is rigid, cold, and unwelcoming. The biggest issue, however, was the way I was treated. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive, which was both surprising and disappointing given my long history with this place. Great establishments are built not just on food or ambiance, but on how people are treated--and that piece is clearly missing now. It's especially unfortunate because the rest of the team still shows glimpses of what this place used to be. Jordon, was genuinely kind and pleasant, but one positive interaction couldn't outweigh the manager's miserable attitude. It's hard to see a place that once felt so special lose its charm like this. I know the winemaker Paul is a great person - so it is hard to leave such a terrible review, but at the same time, if this was my place -- I would want to know what was happening behind the scenes at my establishment. I truly hope leadership reflects on how customer experience is being handled moving forward. Don't give money to places that have toxic attitudes and are joy crushers! Life is too short and far too precious! In the meantime, there are many nearby spots that consistently deliver both quality and incredible hospitality. Skip this place, and instead go to Browne Family Vineyards Tasting Room, The Lonely Siren, The Pink Door, Place Pigalle, or Maximilien. Those places are working very hard to create an exceptional experience!
