Friends go here all the time. This was my first time and it was epic. It's intimate, quiet and a wonderful place to spend time 1:1 or with a few friends. It's not stressful and the appointments ensure you have space for your enjoyment. The bar masters are experts. They make amazing drinks. The creativity of the menu and the staff is worth a stop. The list of cocktail options is rich and the stocked list of liquor is longer. The blow your mind moment is the pricing relative to most other boutique cocktail lounges or a place like Cannon that seems to just look to drain your bank account. Great place to check out and keep coming back.
My friend got a reservation here as a little surprise for my weekend in Seattle and it sure didn't disappoint. We arrived 10 minutes early and had to wait for our seats to be ready as the other party was still there. It's quite small on the inside, and I think it only seats maybe 16 people at max? Either way, we had a great time. You get a small cup of champagne while you wait/once you are seated. We each tried two drinks, and honestly everything was great. My favorite was the tart au citron-- it was sweet and tart and a perfect cocktail! My friend really loved the espresso martini-- I had a sip and it's probably one of the best in the city. Definitely worth a try and will be what we get again next time we come again!
The good doctor knows how to concoct the best potions. The Doctor's Office was everything my partner and I needed after our eventful trip in Seattle. Subtle, vibey, and as advertised, a hard to find speakeasy. We passed by it once and didn't realize because the door was so inconspicuous. But when you're inside, you know you're in the right place. Josh, the doctor for the day, has everything covered and is able to recommend the best things on the menu including his own cocktail "Long Story Short". Unlike the robotic service we were getting everywhere else, Josh is a doctor of both the mind and the body. He's a great conversationalist and a master of good hospitality. The cocktails spoke for themselves with our favorite of the night being the Beachcomber Paloma (a lusciously creamy yet refreshingly fruity cocktail) followed closely by the Long Story Short and the Jiminy Cricket. If you need a cocktail that's strong on the alcohol, the Jiminy Cricket will hit you like a truck and leave you slurring your words for the rest of the night while still being a tasty cocktail. The classic Negroni and Marants Fizz were also had for the night and were well executed. To absorb the alcohol, we got ourselves some olives and almonds (much needed salt!). Don't walk, run to the Doctor's Office. Get your fix of the medicine you need and stumble down the hill to your downtown Seattle hotel.
The Doctor's Office in Seattle's Capitol Hill is a tiny, reservation-only bar with just 12 seats and a reputation for delivering one of the city's most refined cocktail experiences. Founded by Dr. Matthew Powell--an actual physician--the bar features a meticulously curated global spirits collection served by the ounce or flight, along with classic, contemporary, and bespoke cocktails. Powell's scientific approach even includes listing alcohol content by grams on the menu. The bar's origin story is as dramatic as its drinks. Powell opened The Doctor's Office while recovering from a severe foot injury sustained in a rooftop fall, all while working grueling hours on COVID wards. Despite financial hardship, he poured everything into the bar, which is now nationally recognized and known for its philanthropic efforts - including selling $500 shots of Pappy Van Winkle and offering Pap Smirs (a Pappy boilermaker with a Smirnoff Ice) to benefit Planned Parenthood. The space itself is cozy and elegant, with a marble bar, plush seating, and a quirky polka-dot bathroom featuring a high-tech Japanese toilet. This was the worst bar that my friends and I went to during our Seattle trip. We had a group of six but they only take reservations for parties of 1 to 5 so we decided to make two separate reservations for 2 and 4 that were 15 minutes apart. When we arrived, they seated four of us first in the corner but wanted my boyfriend and I to come back when it was closer to our reservation time. This did not really make any sense to us since there were only two couples seated at the bar so there were empty seats at the bar as well as another empty table for two in the corner that just needed to be cleaned up. Also, there was enough space for all six of us to sit together in the corner table. They eventually reluctantly let us all sit together but I'm not sure why that would be a big deal if we all fit in one table as that would save them space for other customers. I understand that the space is small but it was not even crowded. For drinks, all six of us hated our drinks. Most of the cocktails tasted like straight up alcohol. It took us the full hour to finish one drink per person. I guess they are very strict about the one hour reservation because they basically kicked us out at the end saying that our reservation was up. We all thought that was lowkey rude. Other places do a much classier job by asking if you would like to order anything else before your appointment ends. I would also like to note that not a single person came into the bar during the time we were there so it's not like they were busy either. I'm not sure why they have so many great reviews but we all thought the service was rude and the drinks were bad. There are so many other great bars around the area. I wouldn't recommend anyone to come here.
I was visiting Seattle for the first time and decided to check out this speakeasy vibe cocktail bar. I made a same day reservation and found out it's small inside but also a timed experience. You get a warm towel and glass of sparking wine to start. They have QR code for menu which has many liquor forward beverages. It was hard to pick but I love the presentation of all the drinks I had. You do pay a deposit that is taken off from your total. I only got one drink which was great and the deposit covered the drink plus tip for $25. So definitely on the pricier side of cocktails ranging from $19-$25. I love the bathroom so many polka dots and they use the hand towels as well.
A small lowkey speakeasy in cap hill. It's kind of hard to find since the windows are boarded up from the outside. On the inside, it's definitely a vibe. There's a counter with just a few seats. Definitely make a reservation here since they're usually booked out. The drinks are great too. Most of them are premade though, so you won't be able to make any alterations to them. Bartenders here are friendly and make for good conversation!
This place is a straight-up cocktail flex. The bartenders are insanely knowledgeable and somehow manage to be both precise and fun about it. Every drink is thoughtfully crafted and tastes like nothing you've had anywhere else - no gimmicks, just excellence. The spirit selection is elite and constantly evolving, which makes every visit exciting. Mezcal lovers, this is your spot! Rare bottles, handled with care, that you won't easily find elsewhere. Trust the bartender, order boldly, and accept that this bar will reset your standards... and be addicted - responsibly!!
This was the coolest cocktail bar I've ever been too! There are about 10 seats in the entire place, giving it a very intimate feel, especially with the dimmed lights at night. There were a ton of cool cocktail options on the menu, with a pretty extensive liquor list as well. The only downside is it is limited to an hour so you do have to kind of pick up the pace if you want two cocktails, or just drink one slowly over the course of an hour.

Peter was our bartender and brings the type of energy we love in a bar. This is a great place for people who appreciate a good cocktail and want an intimate setting, but are also open to great banter with a bartender who's also having a good time themselves! Drinks: this is the first bar we've been to that is on tock. We were like "whattttttt? Whyyyyy? That's only for expensive restaurants but whatever, we're on vacation. Let's give it a try" It is $25 pp reservation but that gets deducted from your total bill. The menu was huge and felt really unique with all the descriptions. We had a fun time picking out drinks. We got the Manhanttan, Vesper, Spanish Coffee, bartender's choice, a flight of 4 glasses of Cognac, and a flight of 3 glasses of Mezcal. They were all made so well! My husband particularly liked the flights. He really appreciated how he could try different spirits in one setting, and how Peter was so knowledgeable about all of them and had fun creating these flights. Service: it was great!!!! It's the type of place where the bartender gives people space but also welcomes good conversation. We felt that Peter went above and beyond to make sure that my husband and I had a good time. To put into context, we werent going to drink that much on a Wednesday night, but it was just too fun. Atmosphere: very chill and vibey! The outside looks spooky but then you go through the doors, and you see how super cute it is! The bar has 6 seats, a small table for two and then a cute corner couch. WOULD I COME HERE AGAIN?! Yes!!! This is a fun place for people who really appreciate a GOOD cocktail and want to be in an intimate setting.

Very intimate and small space with interestingly artistic interior that creates a unique vibe. Drink options are unique, they are all well crafted by Peter, our super friendly and attentive bartender. The bathroom is pretty cool too. Noise level is very quiet, so it's a great place to have deeper and more meaningful conversations. However because of how quiet it is, almost anything you talk about will easily be overhead by the bartender and other patrons in the space, so be a bit careful if the conversation gets cringy or too personal, because they are exposed haha. Overall, had a great experience here, would totally recommend.
Ordered two drinks, it was an okay spot, definitely better places in Seattle you don't need this whole process of a reservation for.

Unique drink experience, had 2 drinks, a lot of their menu was relatively spirit forward- highly recommend showing up having already eaten (because their space is cozy but small, they keep to the strict time limits on your rez, meaning you might have to chug your drink). I enjoyed the drinks but also recommend taking a closer look at their current online drink menu before booking an appointment as I don't think they tend to go off menu. Their skills were impressive - the people next to us ordered a drink requiring parts of their drink to be lit on fire, was fun! read more
Oh, this is my kinda place. Intimate, nice lighting, friendly staff, great cocktails. The seasonal specials- one mocktail, one cocktail- were both excellent. Also love the seasonal shrub and Keep the Stars Apart. Definitely make a reservations, especially on the weekend. One hour reservations are good for one cocktail, but if you are planning to order two (and you should), then book your table for two hours. Highly recommend! read more

Awesome establishment. Stopped in for a few drinks late on a weekday. Very welcoming environment. For a while we had the place all to ourselves. Really enjoyed the drinks and the conversation with the bartender. Good menu and off menu cocktails. Really appreciate that the drinks are spirit forwards and they don't use lots of juices and sodas. Amazing spirit selection. Will most definitely be back. read more

I loved this place! I discovered it unexpectedly during my trip to Seattle (thanks, Reddit). The place was amazing, offering a full list and great variety of single malts and whiskeys. The prices were very reasonable (cheap, considering I'm from Vegas), and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. You'll need to make a reservation on weekends because it's a pretty small place. I'd love to come back again whenever I visit Seattle! read more

Cozy and moody is how I would describe the Doctors Office as it offers an intimate and unique experience. The small atmosphere really adds to its charm, making it feel like a hidden gem. This was a recommendation from a local to come to for a nightcap after dinner and it lived up to the hype! The cocktails were expertly crafted and full of character. The service was amazing starting off with the welcome champagne and overall a gem of a place. I highly suggest getting reservations, as walk-ins are tough to come by due to the limited space. For anyone looking for a memorable and intimate drink experience in Seattle, this spot is a must-visit! read more
Absolute gem of a bar. The service is always excellent, from the moment you step in and are greeted with welcome champagne and a cold towel, to the stellar cocktails delivered at lightspeed. Yes, they're a bit pricey, and yes, most are a bit small, but it's not your everyday bar. Cozy and intimate, a great place to savor a well crafted cocktail from a delightful member of the staff. Chelsea was a great bartender, she was highly knowledgeable about each drink as well as what would be best to follow. In order I had Six Agave Sazerac, Salvador Dali Lama, Love in the Time of COVID, Long Story Short, Snow Leopard, and 31/1. Standouts : Six Agave Sazerac, like a Cuban Cigar in the French Quarter; Long Story Short, a tropical gin riff; 31/1, a rich Autumnal drink perfect for dessert; Marant's fizz, a super tasty low ABV riff on a Ramos Gin Frizz, what a vanilla milkshake should be. read more
They have a weekly menu you can order off of, but also an extensive menu of all previous concoctions, which they also let you order off of. The menu is full of amazing flavors and the bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. There isn't a whole lot of space inside, so the experience feels more personal and private. You have to make a reservation for a set amount of time, but you are greeted with a glass of sparkling wine and a towel to cleanse your hands. The bathroom is as adorable as some of the yelp photos make it look :) It was a great experience with amazing flavors and even a bit of a performance when the bartender created a few of the drinks. This is the only Doctor's office that I will always be excited to visit. They may not dispense any prescription medications, but they do serve up some amazing cocktails. The Doctor's Office is located right on East Olive Way and is marked with a simple backlit sign. Open the door and step into an intimate and cozy bar filled with spirits from around the world. The space is small by design and holds a maximum of up to 14 guests. This is the part where I recommend making a reservation and for a two hour block of time. This will allow ample time to explore the menu, enjoy the concoctions, and even marvel at the randomness of the bar. Cocktail and food menus are available via QR codes, which are located in each seating area. The cocktail menu offers a decent list of concoctions designed to fit a range of palettes. A few of my favorites are The Devil You Know, TDO Spanish Coffee, Salvador Dali Lama, and Keeping The Stars Apart. The Devil You Know is liquor forward cocktail with bourbon, apricot liquor, amaro, and bitters. TDO Spanish Coffee is a creative and theatrical approach to smoked espresso martini. It's a mixture of Spanish Brandy, Sherry, Boon Boona's Uganda/Ethiopian blend, and Benedictine Whipped Cream & Fire. The production of this drink is part of the experience. Make sure you by the bar top area to fully enjoy and immerse in the smoky experience. Salvador Dali Lama is a mezcal based cocktail with a perfect smoked flavor and spicy garnish. It's a mix of mezcal, sherry, Piment D' Espelette, and chili pepper. Finally, Keeping The Stars Apart, is a blended scotch based cocktail with plum wine, sherry, aperitivo, and green chartreuse. This is a nice end of the night drink. Service was absolutely phenomenal. The bartenders are attentive and consistently checked-in on our drinks. read more

Made last minute reservation for 2 on Wed early eve (with deposit) and had great experience, starting with finding it! A fun speakeasy experience. Drinks/food: All of our cocktails were good! I liked the Un-Imaginable, and then asked for something similar but different to be made (it was awesome). Drink favors were enhanced by the charcuterie board, which was delish and locally sourced; gluten free crackers were available (though maybe a little stale). Beware that there's no other food options here, despite those yummy pics from past reviews. Service: Great. It's very small, as other reviews have said, and you still have to show vaccination proof to enter. We were always attended to when needed and were able to enjoy our full 2-hour reservation. Ambiance: Cute! If I didn't know this was here, I would have never stumbled upon it. I could barely find it as is. Nice interior. Cozy seating. Real champagne and hot towels to start were a lovely touch. A very cool experience. I wish I would have found it sooner! read more

I liked arriving to the non-descript door and almost walking past it - how fun is that?! The bartender greeted me with a warm towel and a little campaign "to say hello" and I thought that was a cute gesture they did for everyone. I recommend reservations if you're going on a busy going-out night, however, it was a Wednesday and I was able to get a spot at the bar for myself. Even for a Wednesday, it seemed to be a popular dimly lit place to meet up for a drink with lots of people coming and going. I ordered The Boss and another drink that was similarly worded as spins on an old fashioned. I thought they both had a good combo of flavors and were rather sweet. I would have liked that sweetness to be a little toned down to be the perfect drink. Overall, I think it's a great ambiance and enjoyed being able to pop in for a drink. read more

This place was fantastic... very small - maybe 10 seats max?! The bartender / server (owner?) is a magician behind the bar. We started on menu, but then described what we liked and he went to work. Our next 2 rounds were incredible - each made specially for our own unique tastes, and like nothing we've had before. Doctor's Office is one of the coolest bars we'd been to in a long, long time. A friend recommended this place to us, and we reserved on line with high expectations. Tiny doesn't begin to tell you how big it is inside - ultra small / which means you're well cared for. We were greeted by the bartender who checked our reservations and took us to our seat. We were given hot towels on arrival plus a glass of sparkling wine. An excellent start! The menu was great and we just knew the bartender could make anything we wanted. We ordered a drink plus a charcuterie board and settled in. Two different times during our reservation, the door opened with people just hoping to walk in - but no go. If you don't have a reservation, don't bother. We were there on the early side (5 PM) and the bartender suggested to both parties that they reserve on line for the next opening (10:30 PM). A hidden speakeasy closer to the north side of Capitol Hill, this place is an absolute gem. Reservations are limited and come with a deposit, but it goes towards your final bill. The entrance is subtle, to the point where my boyfriend and I missed it the first time we walked past. We were seated at the bar, and got a chance to talk to the friendly bartenders and other guests. I ordered the espresso martini and my boyfriend got the Salvador Dali Lama, and we each loved our drinks. The Salvador Dali Lama comes with a chili pepper, and the whole drink has a bit of a kick, and was definitely very unique. The interior also kind of looks like a doctor's office waiting room, mixed with a kind of jungle-y aesthetic.
