In fact, all their Austin signs and Keep Austin Weird signs were a draw to venture into the store. Austin's Furniture depot is located on Burnet Road and offers a unique mix of new furniture, statement pieces, and items from local artists. This is not your typical furniture store. Surprisingly, the Austin signs are quite affordable. I asked Shawn one of the store managers, what do folks do with all these signs. He responded by saying the put them in their homes and businesses. One of the eye-catching items in the addition to the signage, are the abstract and unusual artwork covered in shiny glass. I love abstract anything, therefore, I was very intrigued. They also had some individuals featured in the pictures with bold and colorful features. Shawn was friendly, knowledgeable, and very pleasant. He asked what I was looking for and took time to point out some potential selections. It was an overall very engaging and pleasant visit. Will definitely drop in again...

While waiting to check out, he took me to a comfortable reclining chair in which to wait. He adjusted it for prefect alignment and turned on the heat. So relaxing! The sectional is by Younger Furniture--a woman owned and family run business from NC. We felt good about shopping small business both in the store and the furniture maker. Stacie also had fabric samples so when we were in the decision phase we could take some home to check them out in our space. The delivery guys were great and respectful of our space. They were super sweet to my puppy. I have never experienced any judgement about my attire. Not a big sale and the people at the store were super kind to help me locate the correct style and color. As to the pricing---yes this merchandise is expensive. But I do think that is because of the quality of the fabrication. If you are looking for inexpensive linens, there are literally hundreds of other options. If you are looking for high quality, organic, cool sleeping linens those are expensive here and everywhere. I appreciate the curation of the store. I have purchased many pillows, bath linens, bed linens, duvet covers, and accessories. I think they have nailed the unique casual chic style that is so associated with Austin. No high pressure sales!!! He was also very patient and encouraged us to take rug samples home and that matters. This is how we ended up with the right fit for our space. Ransom and John delivered the rug. They helped us make the right decision in placing the rug then they measured and laid out the pad and the rug to perfection. Their "solution" was to make me wait another week. This was incompetence at every step: the associate who gave false information, and added the incorrect number for the delivery, and the delivery company that couldn't manage basic contact details. I will never shop here again.
