Spent days back and forth on a purchase of a certified pre-owned 2021 Audi RSQ8with 25K (a…read more$127,000+HST Purchase). As I was driving from out of town and have a very busy schedule I wanted to pre-vet the car. Dan Ruccolo the used sales manager in multiple e-mails told me the car was immaculate except a stone chip, which they had fixed before I had arrived. When I arrived to pickup the car within 60 seconds I saw massive (7-8" long) scratches and gouges in one of the roof rack supports. During the rest of my once over I found a puncture (an actual hole!) in the alcantara in an interior door panel, cracked leather on the center console armrest, and what appears to be grey paint transfer on the rear seats. Michael Citrigno, a sales rep who was managing the sale appeared to be surprised by these issues and simply offered to pickup the car the next day at my house and bring it back to be repaired. It was apparent they just wanted the deal done and check in hand and would deal with the problems later. While the offer seemed genuine the massive amount of wasted time in correspondence on this deal and travel time on a vehicle that had so many imperfections (yet was claimed multiple times in advance to be near perfect) was a non-starter. I have purchased more than 50 cars in my life and this experience can only be described as one of two things... 1. Misrepresentation - essentially lying about the condition of the car and just hoping I would not notice the obvious damage, or 2. Negligence and Laziness - The used car manager, Dan really didn't look at the car at all when he made the claims of its condition, or looked at in a completely dark room, or didn't bother looking at the interior. In the end this IS a used 2 year old vehicle with 25k, I expect some wear. HOWEVER this isn't a Ford Taurus, its a $130,000 SUV being sold by a branded dealer, as a CPO vehicle not some sketchy used car dealer. You expect near perfection and for the vehicle to be well represented at this caliber of vehicle and dealer. Shame on them for completely botching this up and wasting over $2000 of my time. Avoid purchasing resale vehicles at Audi Niagara at all cost, all they care about is getting paid and moving vehicles out the door it seems.

He gave me a free temporary lease while the car was being repaired, got my insurance claim dealt with for me, and offered to buy the vehicle back at almost the full price. Next I requested him to find me an Acura TL AWD at an auction; he delivered and found me my car at a good price (the AWD version of this vehicle is quite rare too). Momo only gets 4 stars though because although the owner was good about the situation, they still sold me a lemon and the repair shop they hooked me up with were huge slackers.

He turned to me because I know a lot about cars and he trusts my opinion. A few months ago, used cars were in short supply. Now, there is plenty of inventory. My friend did not want to purchase from an individual owner because he worried that if something went wrong with the car right away, he would have no recourse. I thought that was smart of him. My friend spent hours searching the internet for a car. He lives in Lockport and works in Tonawanda, and wanted a Subaru or other 4wd car to make things safe for his commute. Another smart choice on his part. We went to two Lockport car dealers and test drove 4 cars there. Then I drove him to TwinTon. My friend had found a Subaru and a Toyota, both 5-speed cars, which he wanted. We were greeted by one of the two brothers who have taken over this very long-standing dealership. Chris was our sales person. He let my friend test drive both cars he was interested in. Both were excellent, but the Subaru was the winner. It had brand new struts, rode like a dream, and had lots of power. The asking price was very close to the Kelly Blue Book value, which seemed reasonable. There was some heavy wear and tear on the driver's seat, for which we asked for a little better deal. Chris agreed. Chris made sure the car was clean and had a missing fender liner installed as we waited. They took care of registering and inspection right there on the spot. No financing was involved. The entire transaction went smoothly. There's a 30-day 1,000 mile warranty. It's been almost a month, and so far no major glitches. My friend absolutely loves his new car. I don't think we could have asked for a smoother, nicer transaction. BTW, the dealership is now run by two very nice brothers and their mom. Their grandfather was there, too. This is the opposite of a fly-by-night operation. This family has been in business now for generations!
