Had a simple car inspection for 10am. Didn't get my vehicle back until after 1pm. This place does not honor appointment time.

Exterior signage on the building is not the best, so it can be a challenge to find the right service entrance upon arrival - there are other Northtown vehicle dealerships sharing the same parking lot and there is more than one service location, for different brands. Staff were friendly. The waiting area is comfortable and has a charging station for phones etc, free coffee and cookies, a vending machine with snacks, a tv (wish the remote had been available to change it from news though, would love to see sports on there!), and I saw coloring books and crayons too so kids can be occupied. It's four stars instead of five for two reasons - one, they misplaced my keys and it took an unreasonably long time to find them, and the second vehicle also took a longer time to pick up than I think it should have. Two, although they send video walkthroughs of several things on the vehicle (tire tread, etc), there is no description either in the video or in the paperwork of exactly what the video is showing or what things mean. Obviously green is good, red is bad, but... are those brake pads (my assumption) or something else? How long does it take to go from yellow to red on the little test things? I'd love more discussion or a flyer so I can understand what is being shared.

Since I was an uneductated buyer on the poor quality of tires that Northtown leases Mazda with, I thought it would be useful to inform others. Of course when I called the service department, they said I should bring the vehicle in to "see if Mazda would help." I already read the Mazda warranty which explicitly excludes tires from the warranty so I suspect the service department was planning to have me come in and hope I would buy their tires (which were quoted nearly $100/tire over competing quotes). Buyer/Lessor beware when it comes to Mazda/Northtown equiped tires.

I'm a tech junkie, and I started watching for the 2023 Niro back when the release date of "the end…read moreof summer 2022," listed on Kia.com was far enough away to illicit an, "Awww, damn." My husband is on his 6th Prius and keeps bugging me to get one, but I just can't bring myself to have matching cars. I spotted the Niro, and forgot all about my (2020 Kia) Soul. Granted, getting 49-54 mpg for this size hybrid with all these safety features was an easy sell. On my Friday snow day (don't hate), I finally spotted a few Niros for sale that were not top-level models, so I decided to stop in to Northtown Kia to snoop. Turns out the green one I was coveting was already scooped up, so after a chat, Mike Maniscalco made sure to toss me right into the prettiest damn 2023 Niro EX Touring you have ever seen, so OF COURSE I was in love. (With the Niro. I'm married, weirdo.) I mean really, how can you say no to color changeable ambient dashboard lighting?!? (Kidding, of course. That was just an happy surprise when Mike walked me through the features before he sent me off into a snowstorm.) Even though this blue beauty was one model up from what I came in for, Mike worked with me to get the payments to where I wanted them. I couldn't be happier with my second Northtown Kia purchase.

My father-in-law was at the dealership this afternoon for a few hours and had many questions about financing and the loan process in general. We were on the phone with him to help guide him through everything. He was repeatedly apologetic because he knew he was asking a lot of questions, and the sales representatives were patient and respectful with him. However, toward the end of the transaction--right before finalizing--the finance manager, Jim Kelley, made a highly inappropriate comment. As he was leaving the office, he said, "these fucking people," referring to my father-in-law and possibly to us on the phone with him. This comment was completely disrespectful, felt racially charged, and came entirely out of left field. After hearing this, we no longer felt comfortable giving this dealership our business. My husband asked my father-in-law to request his keys, ID, and registration back and leave. If you choose to go here, be aware of this extremely disrespectful behavior from the finance manager.

Rumor has it, you're overpaying for work that you can get cheaper elsewhere. However, I don't trust "those other places". This place tells you what you need to hear: good, bad or ugly...but at the end of the day, it's the truth. Choose to do what you want with that info, but it's your choice. I went in for a standard oil change, and tire rotation. I bought a package of three oil changes and tire rotation because there's a discount (of some sort) if you buy it as a package. The good news is they keep track of the packages and can tell you how many you've used or have left (bc to be honest, who has time to keep up with such list of to-do's, right?)...And so this goes back to my first statement, they're trustworthy. I had no problems at all. They did an oil change, tire rotation and an induction cleaning of my engine in under 2 hours. Overall, I'm very happy. I have no complaints and yes, I would recommend to anyone needing a trustworthy place to take your car for service.

I never had issues with my turn signals until Northtown Dodge repaired my vehicle.

We bought a headlight for our Nissan Titan from Nissan's official parts website for over $1,300,…read moreand it was sent to Mike Barney Nissan for fulfillment. After my husband removed the old headlight, he found that one of the clips on the new one was already broken out of the box. Since the old light was already out, he superglued the clip just so he could finish the installation. When he finished installing the new light and turned it on, he saw fingerprints sealed inside the lens that couldn't be cleaned because they were under the plastic cover. He drove to the dealership to show them the problem, but the parts manager, Mark DeAngelo, wouldn't even look at it. He said the only option was to exchange it and complained that he didn't understand why their dealership was handling Nissan's online orders, which made it clear he didn't want to deal with the issue. When I called, he said he didn't know what we wanted and told me we shouldn't expect any credit since we "got a good deal" on the part. His only offer was to have someone drive another headlight to our house, but that still meant my husband would have to uninstall and reinstall the entire headlight again, a job that takes several hours and risks damaging the truck. Later, they even said they "weren't going to do the labor for free," even though we never asked them to, we were explaining that reinstalling it ourselves would take hours and leaving the truck there wasn't an option. When I asked for his boss's name and phone number, he refused to give it at first and made me go back and forth with him for several minutes before finally providing it. I emailed the general manager, Jerome Masters, but the parts manager's boss, Adam DiFelice, responded instead. He said the fingerprints were caused by my husband, which is impossible because they're inside the sealed lens. He also repeated that an exchange was the only option. The general manager never replied. The way this dealership handled everything was unprofessional and dismissive from the start. Instead of trying to help or find a reasonable solution, they just kept pointing to the warranty and repeating the same answer. The clip came broken and the fingerprints were clear manufacturer defects, not our fault, and we felt it was completely reasonable to ask for a partial credit since reinstalling wasn't a fair or practical solution. If Nissan is going to make it so the entire headlight unit has to be replaced and charge over $1,300 for the part, they should at least make sure the part is free from defects before sending it out. I would not recommend using Mike Barney Nissan for parts or service, they clearly don't stand by what they sell or care about helping their customers.

Left feeling disappointed about how these places take advantage of people. My car needed an inspection, my usual guys couldn't do it bc VW doesn't disclose the reason for a check engine light, which is why it didn't pass. Could be something major, could just be the gas cap, but only the magical dealership can provide this. But at least I went in knowing it was check engine light related. The mechanic at the VW dealership sends several videos with everything that needs to be repaired and in some videos some vague clanking around on my tires with a screwdriver to prove...? I guess how dire the repairs are. $2500+ recommended in repairs --mentioned within that list is $90 for a gas cap replacement. $15 online, $60 repair at my usual mechanics, and inexplicably $90 at the dealership. Their assessment included some vague "failed NYSI" next to some recommended repairs, which of course, can't be true because it would otherwise have passed at my mechanics. ANYWAY so now I know it's for sure just the gas cap, and decline the rest, but not without paying the dealership $245 for the diagnostic. See what I mean when I say it's gross? For the most unserious repair. I'll add the splash guard (the plastic part under the car) wasn't secured properly by the dealership so 5 minutes on the highway and we had to pull over the see what the dragging sound was. There was a bolt missing so we had to adjust on the fly to drive it home. A cherry on top to their triple shit sundae.
