OMG! My parents have been talking about this place for ages and I finally got the opportunity to visit them today. Super authentic, extremely delicious food with great service! Four Seas is the only place in Park Rapids to get Chinese food (and one of the only places with tofu on the menu), so it definitely fills a niche. It's also an uber-efficient establishment and was the only place in town taking orders with ease; every other restaurant we stopped by had long waits or had stopped taking orders for the evening (as early as 6 p.m.!). Park Rapids is a tourist town but its businesses aren't great at handling mobs of visitors, especially during COVID times. We got a bunch of dishes and generally liked all of them in the way that a person likes oily, heavy Chinese takeout. The house special tofu ($11) was the best thing we had, while the vegetable lo mein ($10) hit the spot in a comfort-food type of way. Try Four Seas if you want Chinese. Had lunch at this resturant on August,2022. The time was about 12 Noon but the place only had 4 tables with customers I have eaten here before. This time was disappointing. The wonton soup was not warm enough and only I wonton, the tea was ok, I ordered Kau Pao Chicken, not enough rice and the brociiuli was not even cooked thru, terrible. We stayed in Park Rapids for a week last month. I'm always searching for Chinese food, so we gave this place a try. First, COVID safety is incredibly important to us. Four Seas is not open for seating (smart) and had a super safe way to hand out take out. There is a full plexiglass wall with an opening. Plus, I could see everyone in the kitchen was masked. It was about as safe as you can be. Then there was the food. It was great! Everyone enjoyed their meals. We have a combination of vegans and meat eaters, and the vegan dishes were excellent. They even special made kung pao tofu for us, and it was really tasty. Good value, too! We highly recommend it. read more

I rarely go out for Chinese food - I favor Vietnamese instead. That said, there is no Vietnamese food in Park Rapids. I was out wandering around playing 'tourist', and got hungry. Suddenly found myself wanting Chinese food, so stopped into the Four Seas. It was during the week around 1:30pm, and only a few tables were occupied. Soft music playing overhead. Nicely decorated, and friendly enough staff, although not all speak English. They had a lunch menu, serving lunch from 11a-3pm (very generous hours!). Lunch plates come with roast pork fried rice, and soup (wonton, egg drop or hot and sour), all for $6.50. That's it! I was skeptical, of course; but hunger won out. I ordered the chicken with broccoli. It was made with tender white meat, and served in a delicious rich brown sauce which was not gummy or gelatinous at all. The broccoli was crisp tender. I ordered the hot and sour soup, which was really really good! Nice consistency, and yummy flavor. The fried rice seemed unusual to me (not really a fan of rice or fried rice), and the server told me it was actually steamed, not fried - thus the fluffier texture. Quite nice actually, once I figured out why it was different. The egg roll was not quite filled enough and a bit greasy. Note: the portions are on the small side, but seems appropriate given the $6.50 price; if you are really hungry or have a big appetite, I'd add another appetizer to your meal. For me though, it was enough and did not feel stuffed at all. Also, the sauce on the main dish was not spicy at all - asked for extra hot chili sauce to perk it up a bit. As I mentioned before, the wait staff are friendly enough, but not all speak English. I had some questions about the food, and was able to speak with a server about it who could speak English. Dining room was spacious, and easy to navigate in a wheelchair or other assistive devices. The interior was clean; the bathroom older but still clean. This is the place to go for Chinese food - not because it is the only place in town, but because you can get a really decent meal for a great price. We happened to be in Park Rapids for the day and while driving down main street, saw a sign that said "Four Seas now open". Since it was dinner time, we decided to check the place out. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Portion sizes are really big, even by American standards (hah!). A dish can easily be split between 2 and you can still have leftovers. Menu is the usual Chinese fare and includes the lunch and dinner combo's. We had the Singapore Fried noodles and the Cashew Chicken; and both were delicious. Egg-drop soup was tasty. All in all, not a bad place. If you happen to be in Park Rapids, and want a quick bite to eat, this is a good place to stop by. read more

My husband and I came over to Lake Itasca for a birthday weekend and had several take-out restaurant choices for a birthday dinner in Park Rapids. We went with Four Seas, and they did not disappoint. We ordered hot and sour soup(I am a big fan, & this was some of the best ever!)shrimp spring rolls, cream cheese wontons, and (jumbo)shrimp with vegetables and cashew nuts, served with white rice. This place is pretty good. They just came under new ownership in the last few months, and they've had a couple different chefs since the switch. The food is all different from how the previous family used to prepare it. Just a heads up, because they're still using the same menu. For instance, the tofu vegetable soup we like to order had a bunch of chicken and tofu in it. Since I'm vegetarian and my husband isn't, I told them that the soup is supposed to be vegetarian, and they brought out another one that I ate from. Small hole in the wall easy to miss. I lived here for years and did not know they existed until I was looking up another restaurant. Simple menu with a good selection, EXCELLENT food and awesome service. Their homemade Sweet and Sour soup is thick and warming and has a strong taste unlike the kind you get at buffets. The WonTons remind me of the ones I would get when stationed in Korea from the Katusa bar. The lunch plate was more than enough to fill my large appetite. Highly recommend this sweet little New Favorite of mine. read more

Love 4 Seas! Have tried a great deal of the menu, even things I didn't think I'd enjoy when sharing large portions with a friend, and been happily surprised to enjoy. I agree with the many others that the cream cheese wontons are the thing to have; I've done them as a meal myself. Portions always large and tasty-fresh. Nikki and Sammi always friendly hostesses. I get the impression that all other reviews which rate this place highly must have been before the change of ownership. The food (I ordered Hunan Chicken and Combination Fried Rice, extra spicy) was bland and tasteless, and the rice was dry as if it had been sitting around and reheated. There was hardly anybody there, and not a smile or pleasant greeting was to be found. A complete waste of an hour round trip from Walker, and I won't be going back. read more
