Call History with 4 Seasons on the latest leak from 2nd floor to the 1st.
    Joyce G.

8/25/2026 Update: 4 Seasons never pulled a permit for the HVAC replacement - Heat nor AC. This is City of Chicago proper not suburbia Update commenced July 16, 2026 and it's now August 8, 2026 AC remains uninstalled with a Refrigerant Detection Syste, RDS, module continuously running. Customer service is inept or apathetic as they asked for 72 hours or 72 Business hours... We've surpassed that. Winter will be here and AC no longer needed but I've paid $15k for equipment that's not functioning nor installed properly.

I hired four seasons plumbing to fix a leak in an old valve. They came out took a look and gave an estimate and was able to come out the next day to do the work. They came on the early end of the window which was amazing and it only took about an hour for the plumber to put in a new pipe. He was friendly and made sure everything worked before leaving. He was careful not to disturb any of the other old pipes that were still in good shape. It was about the same price as others I was quoted.

June 12 Incoming and Outgoing Calls. The majority of the 118-minutes of calls was just holding.

UPDATE: A new tech did return at 3:30pm (window was 8am to noon), but not before I spent 118 minutes total on the phone on hold or speaking to various people. 118 minutes of my own time to understand what is going on isn't acceptable, period, even if the tech who eventually comes is capable and does a solid job. The polite, knowledgeable tech did make the air coming out of the registers cold again (thank you!!!), but my original problem remains: there is not enough power in my current system to cool my house efficiently and sufficiently. Already getting worried about the 5+ days we have coming up of 90+ degrees F weather. My AC will run constantly that entire period because it will never be able to keep up with the sun bake and my high ceilings, WHICH I KNEW FROM THE JUMP, PEOPLE! Hence my original inquiry with Four Seasons. [rage emoji] So while the new tech came and undid what his colleague managed to make worse the prior day, I am currently exactly where I started but down $2k. **I will reserve full judgement for a few more weeks, after the leak package determines if I have a leak,** but regardless of the findings, I don't think I will trust this company in the future. Their marketing team did an excellent job convincing me this was a family-owned and operated local business, but I think it's much too big to adequately service the customers it has. I have a full-time job and can't be on the phone with robots for almost two hours in a day.

It was tough going because the old furnace was 27 years old and was very challenging to remove due to its size.

Tried to tune the furnace anyway to accommodate it, which was actually kind of fun to watch all the different ways it could be done. No other HVAC technician I've ever worked with before has done that. A/C maintenance went great too. First company I've ever hired that didn't try to sell me an entirely new unit just due to a faulty capacitor. Even gave me the model number of the capacitor to replace if I want to save money and do it myself (I'm reasonably handy so it's something I'd probably do). I'll be using them for as long as they give great service!

They said they could try to do a repair for about $1.3k but that they couldn't guarantee the repair would be effective because of the condenser. They then tried to sell me on their highest end heat-pump for about $24k, which was too much for our needs, since our furnace was also functional. We ended up choosing a basic AC replacement for around $9k. They were able to install the new unit two days later. However, on the day of the install, they saw some surface level rust on the furnace heat exchanger and tried to get me to replace it for an additional $4k. When I said no, they backed off and recommended a CO alarm (which we already have). It felt like I was being heavily taken advantage of because I was in a dire situation. The installation went fine, but my experience of being pressured and hard sold to during the process made it feel like I was being milked for every penny they could get out of me. Take this as a precaution to check your HVAC AC/furnace/heat pump regularly, and get multiple quotes before deciding on work. If you go with this company, they will seemingly do an effective job, but they will try their best to get as much money out of you as possible.

It took multiple "tinkerings" to resolve the problem. What I really appreciated was that as soon as I called, Marvin adjusted his next day's schedule and came out to my home and worked several hours, not leaving until he had thoroughly tested and verified that the problem was resolved. No vague promises of "I will see when I can get to it", he arrived the next morning and stayed until the problem was resolved. Then, earlier this August, the AC stopped working, and an All Temp tech came out to investigate. Below are the events that unfolded. Aug 5 - Tech comes to house and identifies part that needs to be replaced Aug 10 - Parts person at All Temp had not ordered part because he was unable to find the part number. My husband found the part number in about 5 minutes by looking at the manual for our machine online. After we provided the part number to All Temp, they finally ordered the part (which they said needed to be shipped from China) Aug 13 - I called the sales person who sold us our unit and asked him to help us because we had not received an update on when the part would be received despite calling numerous times. He looked into it and said they would order us a whole new compressor instead of just the individual part of the compressor, and that would be received in their office "soon." Aug 17 - I called the sales person again because we had not received an update. He said the compressor would be in soon. Aug 19 - Received a call from All Temp saying they received our compressor, and they would come and install it the next day. I told them we were out of town, but our neighbor would be there. Aug 20 - A tech came to install the compressor. We received a call when they were done and the AC was working, and we were asked to pay $1,690. This was the estimate quoted to us on Aug 19 when they said they had the part. Aug 22 - Our neighbor informed us when we got home that All Temp DID NOT INSTALL A COMPRESSOR! We called and asked them what they actually did and why we were charged $1,690. As of Aug 26th, they still have not provided an answer. All Temp 1) misdiagnosed the issue with the AC, needlessly causing us to be without AC for over 2 weeks while we waited for a part we didn't need and 2) charged us for services they didn't perform.

On my first visit, I observed behavior from staff, David, that struck me as sexist toward women. On a second visit, my assistant was present to meet with them, and staff were dismissive and rude to her -- they largely refused to engage with her directly. Even more troubling, they reported to our building's front desk that they "thought something weird was going on," which felt like an inappropriate and baseless insinuation with no basis in reality. In my opinion, this reflects a broader pattern of unprofessional and sexist conduct that reflects poorly on how this company treats women, whether customers or staff. I'd caution anyone considering hiring them, especially if you're a woman who will be interacting with their team directly.

We hired this company to install a radiant floor heating system and asked that it be integrated with Ecobee thermostats so one thermostat could control both the radiant heat and the air conditioning. Unfortunately, they were unable to make that work. After spending considerable time trying, we ultimately agreed to a compromise of using separate thermostats for the radiant heat and the AC. Although this wasn't the solution we originally wanted, we accepted it and paid the invoice in full. Initially, Jordan gave us the impression that he was knowledgeable, trustworthy, and would stand behind the company's work. I genuinely thought we had found an HVAC company we could rely on for years to come. Because the installation was completed outside of the cooling season, we couldn't fully test the air conditioning until the weather became warm enough to use it. When we finally turned on the AC, neither unit worked properly. Jordan came out and discovered that one Ecobee thermostat had been miswired. He corrected the wiring, and that unit began working. However, he could not determine why the second unit was not working. Before leaving, he told us he would return within a day or two to continue troubleshooting. It has now been more than a week. We have called the company's call center multiple times, and every time we are told our message will be forwarded and someone will call us back. Despite our repeated attempts, we have never received a callback or been able to schedule the promised follow-up visit. We even asked to speak with a manager or another owner, but were told that information could not be provided. What disappoints me most is not that there were installation issues--those can happen on any project. It's what happened afterward. Once the final payment was made, it became nearly impossible to get anyone to respond or honor the follow-up that was promised. A warranty only has value if a company responds when customers need service. I truly wanted this company to be our long-term HVAC contractor. Instead, based on my experience, I was left with an unresolved HVAC issue, repeated unanswered service requests, and the feeling that the level of customer support changed after payment was received. I hope they improve their communication and follow-through, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend them.
