To my surprise, they went above and beyond. They made me a brand-new pizza and delivered it to my house, and they even replaced a broken BBQ sauce bottle, completely free of charge. Things happen, but what really matters is how a business handles them. Avery's BBQ handled it incredibly well, and I'm super impressed with their customer service and willingness to make things right. Being a sake fan, definitely not an aficionado, I shared what I'd read and my failed quest for Sakurai's USA made product with a relentless foodie friend. It reminded us both of our sake sipping days at the now closed Santa Monica Airport's restaurant, Typhoon **. Christmas gift exchange. I gave my friend sourdough starter. Hey, it was the tail end of the pandemic. My treat was a chilled bottle of Atsuo Sakurai's raw unprocessed, premium Junmai Ginjo sake. We shared, sipped, savored soul soothing elixir at my dining room table. I never did find out how that fine bottle made it there though. When we went on Friday, we noticed a lot of people had ridden their side-by-sides there. The next morning, we went out riding ourselves and ended up flipping ours onto its side. We weren't sure what to do, so my boyfriend called the restaurant to see if maybe someone could help. One of the owners answered and came out to us within about 20 minutes no hesitation, just asking if we were okay. We're not even locals, just visiting, and they still went out of their way to help us. Truly some of the kindest people we've met. I'm so grateful and would recommend this place to anyone.
