Stopped in Relic Road Brewing while visiting Winslow, AZ. The service was great! Friendly and attentive. We shared the Take It Easy burger: 1/2 lb burger with bacon and an egg. The egg wasn't runny (like we like it) but the burger was still delicious. They serve the chips in a neat way - on a skewer! Take note though... they offer to cut it in half for us as they knew we were sharing but they charged a $2 split plate fee. We weren't aware there was a charge for that. Not a big deal but it would be nice if they let us know beforehand. Good selection of beer. The only cider they have is Angry Orchard in a can. We stopped at this place because it had over four star rating and we were in need of better food after an exhausting road trip. The place is ok but not remotely four stars. It's clearly overpriced for tourists visiting the Winslow guy on a corner statue. The menu had classic American fare. I was trying to find a salad with some veggies. They had salads but somehow none really had any vegetables. I ended up ordering a veggie sandwich with onion rings (for a $3 up charge) instead of chips. I got six onion rings. They were good but I was expecting way more based on what we paid. The veggie sandwich itself was just slices of cheese and tomatoes and cucumbers. It wasn't bad but it certainly wasn't good. Again It definitely wasn't remotely worth the $20 we paid. My husband got a chicken sandwich, which he liked. He got the Mac and cheese as his side (again upgrade). It wasn't good and was inedible. We left it behind. That said we ordered two local beers and those were good. As for the restaurant itself, service was good. Most of the chairs in the restaurant have no backs and are metal and uncomfortable. We sat outside with some better chairs. Still not comfortable. If you want to eat overpriced tourist food, go here. Based on the reviews, RelicRoad (why is there no space between those words?) is the best restaurant in Winslow, by far. Personally, I love burgers and bar food and the burgers and bar food here is well above average. I also had one of their draft beers and it was nice. The curds appetizer was delicious and I don't know why it took America so long to discover curds. Canada has had them forever. The onion rings were excellent. The fries appeared to be hand-cut and were very good. I didn't love the Relic Chips. They were too deeply fried and didn't have a lot of flavor. The Southwest Burger with fried onions and BBQ sauce on Texas Toast was a solid choice, the Patty Melt on rye was very good, and the "make your own burger" was also very nice. There are plenty of TVs for sports viewing and the place is kid-friendly and has a kid's menu. Well worth a visit if you're taking it easy in Winslow. read more

I visited Winslow for my son's tournament back in January. I arrived just after 8pm and most of the restaurants were already closed. Fortunately RelicRoad Brewing was still open. After checking in to my hotel, I headed over and was able to easily find parking. The restaurant is laid back, inviting, and offers ample seating indoor and outdoor. It wasn't busy when I arrived. Most of the staff were tidying up, but stopped to greet me. I let the kind lady behind the bar know that I wanted to place a to-go order. She handed me a menu and asked if I wanted a drink while I waited. I opted for water and settled at the bar. We chatted for a bit and she offered insights about the tournament and even gave other food recommendations. (I tried her pizza rec and it was good!) I ordered the fish tacos and added avocado as well as a small side of fries. The food didn't take long and I ate them in my hotel room. The fish tacos were just okay. They looked stacked at first glance, but that's because they had way too much slaw and not enough fish. The fries were also okay, and were definitely better with the ranch and ketchup I was given. Perhaps I didn't order the right dishes, but I don't eat meat and their seafood and veggie options were limited. RelicRoad came highly recommended by locals, so maybe other items are better. I'd give the food three stars and the excellent service five stars, so four stars overall! read more

Our party of 8 stopped into RelicRoad Brewing for lunch to break up our long roadtrip drive. Their menu is diverse and making a decision on what to order was difficult. The kids AND the seniors traveling with us got a kick out of their "10 and under or 65 and older" menu where they ordered the Mac N Cheese and the sliders. The portions were pretty impressive for a "kids meal". I split the turkey melt with their mac n cheese and a side salad with my husband. They put the meal on two separate plates for us and while the size of the 1/2 sandwich came out as expected, the amount of Mac N Cheese we each got was surprising large. The way they combined the shredded turkey and cheese made the sandwich juicy and we couldn't get over how delicious it was. Delicious! What a wonderful place to dine when in Winslow Az. Four of us had lunch here on our way to Flagstaff. Such a yummy place right across from the famous corner! We rolled into town at about 9pm on a Sunday night. The streets of Winslow were all rolled up but we were starving after a long drive from San Diego. There weren't many options open at that time but luckily we found RelicRoad, conveniently located on the main drag and just a few blocks from La Posada Hotel (5 stars) our final destination. RelicRoad is tastefully decorated with a western vibe, high ceilings and a central bar with an open kitchen behind the bar. There's a mix of high and low tables. The menu has a great selection of casual fare, just perfect for our appetites. The portions are huge and everything is homemade. The onions rings and chicken nuggets were battered by hand. Where do you find that? My rueben was outstanding and I was stuffed after polishing off one half. The service was friendly and attentive. After standing on a corner in town, which seems to be a very popular thing to do, we stopped for lunch.... it was a great stop. Service was wonderful, the bar was comfortable and perfect. Heck who needs a flat bed Ford when you hang out here. We all ordered food, and all of it was very good... but... who cares... I am beer snob and was there for the beers! Which were also very good. I also loved the very unique beer flight holders they had. I've had many flights, in many places but never seen one that was so perfect for the location. Heck, we were sitting along side Route 66. What a great find! We were staying at La Posada, and checking out the town to find a good place to eat. We were very impressed with a couple of meals that we had here. Everything was very tasty, hard to imagine how one person can eat all of the food on those salads. Over a couple of visits, we had the fish tacos, the taco salad, the chicken Caesar, and the Cobb salads, all of which were super tasty. I wanted to try out their chips on a skewer so we had that as an appetizer. One of the best things about the place is their beverage person who was super knowledgeable about the beers. She discussed with my husband, what he was looking for, and brought out several samples, all of which tasted amazing. Apparently they are in the process of building the actual brewery behind the restaurant, but in the meantime, they have an amazing selection of beers from the southwest states. Another fun aspect about the location is that if you sit outside, you can watch everybody stopping at the "Standin' On The Corner" Memorial Park across the street and taking pictures of themselves with the statues of Glenn Frey and Jackson Browne. We happened upon this place while trying to find something other than McD or Arby's. And wow what a great find. We split a very good Ruben with chips. The chips themselves are worth the buy. Then we also split an order of deep fried zucchini. The order is pricey but huge. Certainly worth the cost and we will enjoy the leftovers. I could go on and on but no need to. What struck me most was the friendliness of the staff. Especially when I consider the constant flow of tourists. They make the most amazing homemade cheese curds ever. I've been spoiled. The place is very cute with Route 66 vibes and we enjoyed watching the chefs in the open kitchen while taking in some football on the big screens. Both of us really enjoyed our beer / cocktail. The fish tacos were exceptional! Loved the chew on the blue corn tortillas. COBB salad was generously portioned with a freshly grilled chicken breast, but the ranch dressing was only meh. We were starving when we arrived in Winslow and RelicRoad was open so in we went! We're always looking for unique local spots and a brewery is generally on the top of our list! RelicRoad doesn't brew beer though so not sure how they got the "Brewing" name, maybe they did at one point?? We chose a seat at the bar and were greeted right away by a very nice and friendly server. She took our orders, brought our food and beer and we never saw her again!! The food was good tavern, pub, brewhouse food! Excellent Reuben with a nice pile of meat and the turkey melt was perfect! Love the hand cut fries, mine were a bit discolored but saw others coming out beautifully golden so maybe just a fluke. The onion rings were giant, crunchy and tender on the inside. The candied bacon though, yeah, that didn't work! It basically just burnt on the grill because it's way too thin but hey, they tried!! Oh my, where to begin... We arrived in Winslow around 7:00, after a very busy day of hiking and sightseeing, and we were HUNGRY! The brewery is conveniently located across from "the corner" and filled with nostalgia and Route 66 charm. Our bartender was super friendly and gave us some great touring ideas for the next day. The place wasn't super busy, but still had a bit of a laid back party vibe. I ordered an IPA, followed by a hazy, and both were delicious! My wife had a cocktail that the bartender recommended (love potion #9) and she loved it (it was really a beautiful looking drink). I had the Diablo burger and she had the southwestern burger. They were amazing! Mine was a half pound patty on an everything bagel with cheese, peppers, and a house-made slaw. We agreed they were two of the best burgers we've ever had. We're planning to come back in a year or two, and between the food, beer and service, how can this place not be a stop? read more
