When we arrived, the bed was not there and she didn't bring one, as she said it was too heavy to carry. She asked if he could sleep on the bench or on the short couch that he was longer than. So disheartening and insulting. There was no key or code for us to lock up our belongings. We had to rely on people just being honest and not stealing. We actually took valuables with us when we left for dinner. Breakfast: She had asked us what we liked and asked my son what he liked. He said he would try the stuffed French toast. She brought out the smallest plate of scrambled egg whites, ONE microwaved Eggo waffle, a slice of watermelon with some blueberries and cantaloupe. The meal he had could not satisfy a 3 year old's stomach. My husband and I had to give him a portion of our already small portion of stuffed French toast. One of the most hurtful parts of the trip was being isolated from the rest of the group during breakfast. She asked us to sit in the sunroom which is not set up for proper dining (table was too small and chairs are for lounging not eating breakfast). We felt treated like 2nd class customers, maybe because she has a problem with kids? Or, worse, a problem with my skin color or with my husband's foreign accent? We're just baffled and left to wonder. She didn't suggest that any other guest be isolated to the sunroom for dining. If I could give 0 stars for service, I would. Again, location is great, but courtesy and customer service not even close to meeting the bar. The average rating is completely unjustified and misleading.

Honestly, when I first looked at the…read morewebsite and saw that it was part of Summerhome Park and that there were activities for children, I was a bit skeptical about how much of a hideaway it would be for a group of adults. I imagined hearing children shrieking and playing all over the place. When we pulled up to the house, I was very happy to see that the community of homes is VERY spread out, so the home is pretty secluded. We walked up the stairs to find a very cozy home and guest house. The first night was spent cooking, drinking wine, and hanging out in the hot tub. The kitchen is well-stocked with utensils, so we cooked breakfast and dinner here each day. We were close to the river, so we spend the second day kayaking. The home has a TV/DVD player, so when we were exhausted in the evening, we could relax and watch movies or play some of the games available in the house. Wineries are not too far, so we spent the third day wine tasting. We had a great vacation, and we hope to return next summer!

This place is a fabulous hidden gem about ten minutes from downtown Healdsburg and only a few minutes from nearby wineries. The cottage is situated at the end of a long driveway, overlooking rolling hills that you'll find in this part of Sonoma. It's a clean and comfortable home converted from an old barn, where the owners now live. And they've done an amazing job updating the one-bedroom with a new bath, modern appliances, a large flat screen tv, and even a mini-kitchen stocked with local croissants, jams, and organic teas... But what got me is that unlike so many wine country B&Bs that look cute online and end up feeling corporate in person, the place doesn't feel contrived or pretentious at all -- it's relaxing, romantic, and rustic (how's that for alliteration) in a very real way, which is exactly how a weekend in wine country should be done. Also, gotta love how spacious and warm the place is, even in November (our favorite time to do wine country...). It was just two of us this weekend, but the place could easily host up to 6 with the two queen-sized futons in the living room mean. If you're able to, check out the cute gardens full of local produce all around the home and if you're lucky, you may meet the most awesome Yellow Lab ever. Did I mention the owners even make their own organic honey -- how sweet is that?

Whether you're asleep in the ridiculously comfortable bed, munching on croissant and jam on the breakfast patio, or meandering through the adjacent gardens, this is a serene base for a Sonoma getaway. The cottage has the amenities and space to host a family or pair of couples for a week-long vacation, but it's convenient location and reasonable price are also perfect for a couple just looking to spend a weekend wine tasting and enjoying idyllic "downtown" Healdsburg. As for dinner, don't miss Willi's in town!

First, the house-- The first floor is very open, with a big living area (and sectional sofa) opening to a large dining room that comfortably seated all of us. The kitchen is spacious, and easy for one or two people to cook in. The knives are even sharp! There's a small bedroom on the first floor with a day bed. For some reason, it was the coolest room in the house. Upstairs are three more bedrooms (one with bunk beds!), the master suite, and another full bath. The beds were comfortable, everyone slept like babies, and the master suite has a kickass deck. There'a big back deck nestled in the redwoods with views of the river. Going towards the back yard, there's a nice hottub that we barely used because it was super hot outside. The yard is totally fenced (great for the dogs), and the back yard had fruit trees that will be great for a later guest once the fruit is ripe. The houses's location beside the beach path means you can go from front door to water in under two minutes. We spent a lot of time at the beach, and got to know some of the very nice neighbors. All in all, the best vacation house we've rented yet. Rob was super easy to work with, and I highly recommend.

The bar is just a few steps down, which was very convenient, and during Christmas the lodge is absolutely beautiful. Sound: We had one of the front rooms and the busy road noise is loud. Also, we could hear everything from our neighbor including them snoring. 2. I asked for an amenity for the birthday celebration and we were promised something waiting. I had to ask again and we ended up with two pieces of chocolate. I've paid a lot less for hotels that have included way better birthday amenities. 3. The room is nice but nothing exceptional. 4. Smores hour is cute but the smores are definitely stale. 5. I dropped something behind the tub and it was clear things had not been cleaned back there. Everything else was very clean, and that is important to me. 6. The restaurant is overrated. Go to other spots for the vibe and food. The pros: 1. I absolutely love the connections that this hotel has to wineries and wine tasting. We would come back just for this as staying at farmhouse gets you exceptional service at the partner wineries. This is what makes it special! 2. The wine happy hour hosts were also great. Special shoutout to freeman who was extra sweet to us. 3. Everyone is very nice and helpful. The service really stands out and brings this hotel up to 4 stars. 4. The lobby cat is very cute!

It was a TREAT to check-in and get an immediate outpour of love and welcomes. I was offered water, choice of soaps and bath salts from a local selection, and a tour around the property. We arrived after dark and I was so glad I didn't have to stumble around to find my room. My room was cozy and the decor was farm chic. Turn down service was already complete with rice crispy treats on the table the first night and chunky chocolate chip cookies the second night (both incredible). The room was gorgeous and I felt right at home. There were two fridges, one for wine and another for beer and non-alcoholic drinks. The fire place and outdoor fire pit were nice features. I enjoyed the homemade marshmallows at the s'mores table outside. Again, small touches of luxury and love. We felt like we had the entire grounds to ourselves most of the time. We hardly saw the other guests. The grounds were beautifully kept as well as the rooms. It looked like a AD Magazine feature! We attended the wine happy hour, with pours from a local winery. You get a tasting and can purchase a bottle (or more) to enjoy. Some brought their own snacks, otherwise no nibbles were served. We had plans in the area and didn't eat on-site. The on-site restaurant menu looked great and it was a nice option for those who simply wanted to stay and relax. It certainly highlighted farm fresh ingredients. I also did not get a chance to try the Wellness Barn, but I would love to go. There is an outdoor pool, ice cold when I was there. However, the hot tub looked inviting. I forgot my swimsuit, but you must bring yours. Check with the front desk about pool hours. Overall, the staff are kind, hard working, and really try to make your stay special. I loved using the local soaps and salts during my stay. The treats left in the room were definitely delightful. Their pastry chef is excellent. Not so great: *The lights and noise from the refrigerator. *Steam shower did not work and the staff didn't know how to use it. The shower (minus stream pipe) and jacuzzi tub worked perfectly.
