We stayed at farmhouse inn for a birthday celebration. Overall things went well. There were a few pros and cons. To leave on a positive note I will end with the pros. Cons: 1. Sound: We had one of the front rooms and the busy road noise is loud. Also, we could hear everything from our neighbor including them snoring. 2. I asked for an amenity for the birthday celebration and we were promised something waiting. I had to ask again and we ended up with two pieces of chocolate. I've paid a lot less for hotels that have included way better birthday amenities. 3. The room is nice but nothing exceptional. 4. Smores hour is cute but the smores are definitely stale. 5. I dropped something behind the tub and it was clear things had not been cleaned back there. Everything else was very clean, and that is important to me. 6. The restaurant is overrated. Go to other spots for the vibe and food. The pros: 1. I absolutely love the connections that this hotel has to wineries and wine tasting. We would come back just for this as staying at farmhouse gets you exceptional service at the partner wineries. This is what makes it special! 2. The wine happy hour hosts were also great. Special shoutout to freeman who was extra sweet to us. 3. Everyone is very nice and helpful. The service really stands out and brings this hotel up to 4 stars. 4. It's the small things in life that we should focus on. Farmhouse Inn certainly makes sure the details are taken care of. I stayed on a cold and rainy weekend. It was a TREAT to check-in and get an immediate outpour of love and welcomes. I was offered water, choice of soaps and bath salts from a local selection, and a tour around the property. We arrived after dark and I was so glad I didn't have to stumble around to find my room. My room was cozy and the decor was farm chic. Turn down service was already complete with rice crispy treats on the table the first night and chunky chocolate chip cookies the second night (both incredible). The room was gorgeous and I felt right at home. There were two fridges, one for wine and another for beer and non-alcoholic drinks. The fire place and outdoor fire pit were nice features. I enjoyed the homemade marshmallows at the s'mores table outside. Again, small touches of luxury and love. We felt like we had the entire grounds to ourselves most of the time. We hardly saw the other guests. The grounds were beautifully kept as well as the rooms. It looked like a AD Magazine feature! We attended the wine happy hour, with pours from a local winery. You get a tasting and can purchase a bottle (or more) to enjoy. Some brought their own snacks, otherwise no nibbles were served. We had plans in the area and didn't eat on-site. The on-site restaurant menu looked great and it was a nice option for those who simply wanted to stay and relax. It certainly highlighted farm fresh ingredients. I also did not get a chance to try the Wellness Barn, but I would love to go. There is an outdoor pool, ice cold when I was there. However, the hot tub looked inviting. I forgot my swimsuit, but you must bring yours. Check with the front desk about pool hours. Overall, the staff are kind, hard working, and really try to make your stay special. I loved using the local soaps and salts during my stay. The treats left in the room were definitely delightful. Their pastry chef is excellent. Not so great: *The lights and noise from the refrigerator. *Steam shower did not work and the staff didn't know how to use it. To welcome in the new year, I enjoyed a relaxing stay at Farmhouse Inn, a luxury boutique hotel tucked away in Sonoma Country's Russian River Valley. The charming property is owned by fifth-generation farmers, Joe and Catherine Bartolomei and features 25 guest rooms and two farm-to-table restaurants. I recommend splurging for a spacious barn suite, which comes with a well-appointed bathroom with heated marble floors, a steam shower, and jetted-marbled soaking tub. I also enjoyed walking around the calming, rustic property, which features a heated pool, gardens, chicken coop, fire pits, and wellness barn. As equally impressive as the rooms and property, is the onsite Farmhouse Restaurant led by chef de cuisine Craig Wilmer, a Bay Area local with kitchen experience at high profile restaurants including Petit Crenn and COI. After the retirement of founding chef Steve Litke, and a remarkable legacy of 13 consecutive Michelin stars, Farmhouse Restaurant had a couple transitional years before they found Wilmer last year. While I didn't get to experience Farmhouse Restaurant prior, I very much enjoyed the current iteration under Wilmer's lead. The seasonal 6-course tasting menu was made even more decadent for New Year's Eve, with caviar in each course. A champagne-focused pairing was the perfect celebratory compliment. Nice people and decent property. Possible considerations to make it worth the high prices: 1) Better sound proofing from the busy highway 2) Although we did stay in the "cheaper room" at $532 a night, since it is above the restaurant a polite reminder to shut the doors quietly would be helpful. Rough closing of the doors rattled our room until the last staff left. 3) The garden music, while nice, can be heard in that room until it's turned off at night. 4) A $35 mandatory housekeeping gratuity for each day is really high, we even turned down housekeeping one day so should have only been charged once in my opinion. Disappointed that I did not bring earplugs to sleep with and had to pay $39 dollars for one glass of wine at the pool. Luckily the happy hour pours offset my wine charge. read more

But the Check in process is a little odd: -You have to park first and it's not clear where to go. -We parked then lugged our luggage's to the lobby. -The ground was gravel so it was not as easy. Service so far: -The person at the front named Will was very friendly and welcoming. He's making up for the odd interaction with the check in lady. -The check in lady named Heidi was off. She was not as welcoming/friendly. -She's not a good listener. Every time she asked a question and I would answer, then she interrupts and doesn't regard what I was saying. -No good eye contact. Just not welcoming in general. -Then she proceeds to ask for tip after her terrible customer service. I said no. -If it were Will then I would most definitely not mind tipping. -I catch her looking me up and down. I'm wearing more laid back clothing and moccasins. -I'm not sure if she's passing judgement on me but it def. felt that way, and that is not a way to welcome guests. You're the CHECK-IN lady. Come on now. -For the price that I paid, I would have expect better service somewhat. At least neutrality? ***Please improve on service. Okay, here's an UPDATE: -I give it a 2.8 star now. We had a very good experience in general. The Inn has many contacts with wineries and helped us book some great tastings and a tour. We loved these experiences, which included a fantastic impromptu garden tour from Michael at DaVero Farms. The only downside to our stay was the concierge told us that they would make reservations in the restaurant for us but they did not. This was a bummer as we raced to get back and then had no reservation. We waited for 2.5 hours to eat and one day person in our party with digestion issues got sick waiting. (And we paid for their meal). They did offer to make us alternate reservations in town but we had just rushed back and needed to pack so we didn't want to add extra driving. If you go, make sure you follow up to ensure they have booked what you requested. read more

I came here with my partner to celebrate our anniversary last December and had an enjoyable stay. I don't think I'd pay the peak season prices of $1,500+, but during offseason it's worth the price for a deserving occasion. Pros: - Beautiful room: I've stayed at some other luxury inns in Napa and the interiors are more tacky, but farmhouse did a good job of balancing rustic and modern for the design. The bathroom in particular was super spacious and beautiful, and even had heated floors and a steam shower. The bath bars, salts, and scrubs provided for free are also a really nice touch. - Winery partnerships: free tastings at local, boutique wineries is a great perk here. We visited Copain Winery and Flowers Winery, per the concierge's recommendation. We absolutely fell in love with Flowers and would highly recommend it to anyone staying at Farmhouse Inn; it's been one of our favorite wineries ever since. They also have winery partners come to the hotel every night for free tastings as well. When we were there, Macrostie was the winery on site, and their wines were delicious. The sommelier even gave us a bottle of champagne to celebrate our anniversary, which was really nice! - Service: The entire staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive. All questions and concerns were addressed quickly. - In-house florist: I arranged for a flower arrangement in the room upon arrival, and the bouquet was beautifully arranged and had a unique wine-country aesthetic (grapes in the bouquet!). - Michelin-star dining: My partner and I enjoy fine dining on a regular basis, so having a Michelin-starred restaurant on-site was a huge plus. The breakfast in particular was one of the highlights of our stay.The dinner was standard American fare--it won't blow you away or surprise you in any way, but everything is really well done and the flavors are great. Cons: - Paper-thin walls: You can hear other people's conversations from other rooms pretty much the entire time. The neighbors' conversation woke us up around 7am which was annoying for a vacation. As long as your neighbors aren't too loud, it should be okay, but definitely something to be aware of. - Room service: We came here when Covid cases were spiking, so we were nervous about dining outdoors alongside other people. We thought it'd be a cool experience to have Michelin-starred food in our own hotel room, so we told the staff months in advance we wanted to do that. We noticed in the pictures of the room online that there weren't any tables that we could eat on, so we asked if we could have a table and chairs brought to the room for our dinner, and they said yes, of course. We reminded them a few days in advance, just in case, and they said yes, they have noted to bring a table to our room for dinner. When the first course of our dinner actually arrived, we had no table to eat on, and when we asked the person who brought the food "where's the table?" his response was "what table?" He had a borderline rude attitude and didn't help us at all, so we had to call the front desk to get that sorted out. Eventually, the table and chairs came, but by then our first course had been sitting there for 10+ minutes. One little hiccup for what was otherwise stellar service throughout our stay. Charming hotel tucked away in wine country. Worth working that OT to stay at this place! I stayed in room 8 and it is one of the few rooms that has a hot dry sauna. It's worth it! Love that this room also has a private garden entrance. The pool is heated so you can swim any time of the day. My only regret is that I didn't stay more than one night to fully enjoy the property. I liked that the hotel gives complimentary bath salt/oil. Free parking onsite. I liked the wine hour and complimentary s'mores in the evening by the fire pits. Improvements: The bed can be more comfy for the price and high caliber of the hotel name. The bathtub has jets, but the jets were not working. One of the perks staying at Farmhouse Inn is that you can choose from one or two wineries that they are affiliated with for a VIP complimentary tasting! I asked ahead twice and still the housekeeper "had to check" if it was ok "attention to every detail" - after driving 3 hours not knowing where to park with no one at the "valet" stand, couldn't find the lobby and access a restroom. No glass of wine upon arrival or asking how the drive went. Front desk service is better at 2 star hotels. "With only 25 rooms we pride ourselves on the Inn's intimacy and privacy, creating a feeling of visiting a private estate." - The property now is SO crowded. Whenever you walk the property you run into staff or people watching you from the lobby or restaurants. The Farmstand seems jammed in and I wouldn't wanna use the pool or hot tub right underneath the restaurant being stared at. I didn't feel any privacy or intimacy. Everything from the hiking trail, to the rooms, dining options and pool areas are jammed into a tiny area that is not serene or relaxing. I don't feel the property really cares to cater to ALL guests. After telling the owner Joe earlier in the morning how pleased I was to be back after being a regular before the remodel, he couldn't be bothered to acknowledge my family as he saw us leave, after we cut our stay short from rude treatment from the maintenance and front desk staff. With sooo many other options in scenic destinations, this property in the woods needs to greatly improve on service and quality to sustain itself. I. Love. This. Inn. That is all. Haha, just kidding. But for reals, what can I say about it except that it's like a dream, it's exactly what you'd imagine to find in beautiful California Wine Country and it lived up to my expectations. The staff are all super friendly and try to remember your name. The gals at the welcome desk were nice and though I arrived late at night they tried to answer most of my questions. They did NOT however, inform me that my stay had the perks of $100 spa credit and $50 dining credit per day. I found that out upon check-out - and was pissed. They have a variety of bath goodies that all smell amazing in the welcome room with hot tea and some snacks all of which are complimentary. Which is great. You can come and go and get some bath goodies for a relaxing bath treatment in your room or make tea/coffee and have homemade vanilla bean marshmellows and dark chocolate s'mores by the fire pit! Yum! My suite was stunning and one of my favorite rooms I have stayed in (even compared to some at the Four Seasons!). I had heated tile floors in the bathroom, a private steam shower, and a large jetted soaking tub with double sinks and plenty of counter space. I had a spacious room with a seating area, desk area, small wine fridge, closet, and my sleeping space with a double-sided fireplace that looked on my bed or you could sit in front of out on my private balcony. Adorable! I had breakfast one day at the hotel restaurant which was delicious. They leave little personalized snacks in your room and cookies every night that are TO DIE for. I don't eat very many sweets and I ate every single cookie (like 6). I worked with the concierge (Theresa helped me and was great) prior to arrival to plan some things and they were helpful in setting up zip lining and a hot air balloon ride (which sadly was cancelled due to wind). Bc of the cancellation I also had a spa treatment and very much enjoyed their elegant spa and skilled therapist, Tamra who relaxed me to no end and provided me with one of the best massage experiences of my life! The grounds are full of large beautiful flowers, relaxing water fountains, lights at night, and a central pool/spa fire-pit area. The rooms are in several different farm-house buildings and are all adorable. The compound is beautiful to say the least and you feel like you are in your own little private retreat in Napa! *The only issue I had during my stay was that they were VERY stingy with healthy snack options. So this establishment prides itself on personalizing your stay by providing you with snacks and goodies in your room - though I mentioned honey, yogurt, granola and fresh fruits. I had chips and salsa, soda, and lots of peanuts. None of the things I mentioned. I had to insist daily upon soy milk, yogurt and honey and fresh fruits. It was annoying. I don't drink soda and had to practically beg for a tiny tiny glass of orange juice to replace the 4 cans of soda in my room.... I asked to be credited since no one told me about my VIP credits during my stay and the manager happily corrected the issue. Last minute booking on HotelTonight offered an executive king at a discounted rate made it a perfect weekend get away from SF. The property is lovely -- you are welcomed with a nice wine or hot beverage, and in the front desk area you can pick out custom made soap and scrubs to bring back to your room where a steam shower awaits. There are adorable cats on premise - three that I can see, one of which I've named Socks, who escorted us back to our room (or more likely a curious cat that checked us out). There are two fire pits and you can make s'mores of which you grab all the necessities for the front office. All the drinks in the fridge in the room are complimentary and wines stocked in the room were a nice touch at a retail price and not marked up like crazy. The cookies that come with turn down service is nice, but the best thing is really that heated floor in the bathroom. On a cold rainy Saturday, it is really lovely to walk into the bathroom and to be greeted with warm tiles. The room is well appointed, welcoming and relaxing, especially with the two way fireplace fro the bedroom and the patio. Being able to do tastings nearby then head back for dinner (the meal at the restaurant was fantastic) and walk back to our room after roasting some marshmallows made for a magical evening. read more

I've been here less than 3 hours and I'm already blown away. The room is fresh and bright, with everything you want for a special weekend away. Hot tub is hot and spacious, pool area is beautiful, there's popcorn in the room and club soda in the fridge. But the best thing was when I lost my phone. My wife and I were there in late May this year. It was truly one of the best places we have stayed. I cannot give enough stars. The service was amazing. The grounds are immaculate with gorgeous flowers, fountains, and peaceful walking paths throughout. We enjoyed several nearby vineyards and particularly enjoyed Armstrong state park, the home of giant redwood trees, which is only minutes away from the Inn. I would recommend a stay at Farmhouse Inn to friends or family without hesitation and can't wait to make a return trip!! read more

The rooms are amazing: steam shower (make sure to pick up some homemade soap from the lobby, heated floors, sliding barn door to bedroom, fireplace, rustic decor, fresh salsa in the fridge, fresh cookies during turn down, and a super comfy bed! Wife here doing the review today. First off totally embarrassed we haven't reviewed sooner as we've been coming for many years for special occasions. My first time here was over 12 years ago when it was the one main house and a handful of small bungalows. Now it has elaborate grounds, pool, spa, 5 star accommodations with 700+sq ft rooms AND still amazing food. Overview: Beautiful grounds- come early walk the area and take some photos and enjoy one another. Ask for a glass of wine and enjoy the details around the property and serenity. Rooms: although we never stayed in any of the rooms, we were given a tour of some of them a few years back when planning our wedding. The rooms range from lovely cottages - I believe the price then was $400-500 a night, to amazing suites that were over 700sq feet and upwards of $900 a night. If you join their email list you will be alerted to specials and seasonal package deals. Often one night free. The food: Its beautiful, it's exciting, it's special and it's always changing. The menu is created daily, highlighting local seasonal Produce and proteins. Menus are prefix with an option of 3 or 4 course, as well as a stellar wine selection and guidance from their sommelier. Service: always professional, done with a smile, personal, and not intrusive. Ambiance: this is a small intimate dining experience. The kitchen is small - and reservations are a must as I believe there are 2, possibly three turns of the dining room. I think they have limited party size to 6. 6/2018 - we celebrated our 3rd anniversary with a 4 course dinner and wine pairing. The menu was quite different as the chef has recently returned from japan. The influence of his recent trip was found sprinkled in the menu options this month. Some of the highlights was the sashimi and fennel salad with peppers and tapioca pearls , pork belly citrus salad, poussin with wild mushrooms and and amazing sauce... **** as mentioned we have been here several times before and were lucky enough to be married here .. our day was perfect! This place is in the perfect location but the service does not live up to the price tag. For $1800/ night one would expect better service. Upon arriving the phone in our room didn't work. They said someone would come up to fix it . NEVER HAPPENED. When I reminded them about it at the end of the following day they said they would be up to take a look. NEVER HAPPENED. The following day the WiFi went out. They said they would look into it. NEVER HAPPENED.there are about a half dozen more examples of this. This seemed to be the response to everything. They say they will get back to you and the just write you off. At breakfast we had to hunt down someone for coffee refills 3 times. We asked for syrup and you guest it . NEVER HAPPENED. On top of all this they add a 20% gratuity to all bills. I'm fine with that but you need to step up the service if I'm paying for it automatically. Over all I have had better service at a Holiday Inn. Also,...The furniture oour patio was a cheap tiny teak set. Not something you would expect when paying $1800 a night. Also the chairs around the fire pits are cheap and uncomfortable from Home Depot. Apparently this place has really lost its touch. Staying here was an actual nightmare. We booked a single night stay for 2 in their junior suite last minute in mid June 2021 for $1700/night. We wanted to treat ourselves as we were passing through the area during the hottest week of the year during an unusual heat wave and specifically sought out a nice place with AC. When we arrived in the room we noticed that everything said, "Welcome Casie and Joseph." This was the couple that canceled their stay. Initially, we made a joke of this and laughed it off. However, there was a bill/agreement on the desk with what some would consider sensitive client information that I was able to look at so yikes from a guest privacy standpoint. After dinner we got back to our room around 10PM and noticed the thermostat was reading 81 degrees. We tried to turn the AC on and it didn't work. We called down to the office and the young man who checked us in (Alex) reset the thermostat for us and it seemed good to go so we went down to the pool for about an hour. When we came back again the room was unbearably hot (back to 81 degrees). I called down again and no answer. 20 minutes later another gentleman called back and when I asked him about the problem he said that he would check on it. Another 15-20 minutes passed without any updates so I called back down and the same gentleman said that the "electrical switchboard was a mess" and "I called our maintenance guy but he didn't pick up so this is just how it's going to be for tonight." I could not believe this response. I asked if it was at all possible for him come up to see if he could troubleshoot for us. 20 minutes later he was at our room and fiddled with the HVAC and the thermostat and said it should reset in 10 minutes. I asked him if it doesn't work if he could keep trying to contact their maintenance person and his response was "no that's not something that we can do." Well 10 minutes passed and still no AC. At this point it was close to 1AM and we really wanted to sleep and the whole thing seemed completely futile so we opened all the windows and tried our best. Well not only did we not sleep but we were eaten alive by bugs. The next morning I called back down for maintenance and this time he got the AC to work for about 10 minutes. They also forgot our breakfast that was suppose to be delivered at 930AM. When we called down at 945AM the kitchen said "someone wrote room number 19 (not our room number) on this" and accused us of doing so. When we said that we were just as confused as he was his response was "well whatever!" At this point, I just wanted to speak to the manager to relay some concerns about our stay. He was apparently off property and couldn't spare 5 minutes to hear my concerns not even by phone. The maintenance guy at the very end came and spent 30 minutes installing a portable AC unit so we had AC for the last 30 minutes of our stay. Dear Casie and Joseph, happy anniversary and you dodged a bullet by canceling your stay here. Another reviewer said that staying here is like paying Four Seasons prices for a Holiday Inn experience. And I cannot agree more. In fact probably worse than that. I understand that maintenance issues happen and the overnight staff may not have all the tools necessary to address these issues. But what really rubbed me the wrong way was the inability to show empathy for our situation from multiple people, the lack of initiative to try to remedy our problem, and the complete absence of professionalism in the way they spoke to us. read more

We had a magical stay at the Farmhouse Inn this past weekend! The staff, service, and facilities were unparalleled. We couldn't get over all the personal touches. Delicious goat cheese and crackers, salsa and chips, and gluten-free cookies stocked in our room every day; locally made soaps, bath salts, and bubble bath at your disposal; delicious chocolate, graham crackers, and the best marshmallows for nightly smores by the fire; and best of all, happy hour every evening where a local winery came and poured tasty wine. Thomas and Drea made us feel right at home; they were so welcoming and friendly. The room was incredible, complete with a dual fireplace (indoor and outdoor), steam shower, and jetted tub, and always very clean. Drea also lined up fantastic tasting and food pairings for us in Healdsburg. Thank you so much, Thomas and Drea, for the best weekend neither of us will forget!!! read more

One of the best mini-vacation stays ever! The service of the staff collectively made this what it was. Don't get me wrong - the amenities, beautifully appointed rooms, food and generous extras didn't hurt. As someone who worked at The Ritz-Carlton for ten years, I know good service and the service throughout this hotel was excellent! I kept wondering if the employees have earpieces to communicate about the guests' needs. Staff seemed to pop out of nowhere and know just what we needed. The friendliness and genuine desire to help just bowled me over. After check-in, Max and Mason got us up to our room with our luggage and showed us everything. Our room was beautiful-- king-sized bed, amazing toiletries, a warm fireplace (turned on with a light switch, things to nibble, turn-down service with fresh-baked cookies and milk, heated floors in the bathroom, robes, slippers and so much more! We each had a 90 minute massage which was heavenly. Angela was my massage therapist and at one point she asked if she could use a tuning fork for sound therapy. I highly recommend that! Gretchen was my friend's massage therapist and she gave a very strong and deep tissue massage. Both highly recommended! Kellee, who worked in the spa was so helpful and friendly. She looked out for us both days. We took a day and hired a hotel driver to visit wineries in the area. Russell was our driver and he was the BEST driver ever! He was warm, funny, knowledgable. and so helpful. We invited him to eat lunch with us. I'd hire him again in a minute. Did you know that if you visit some of the wineries that are affiliated with the hotel, (while you are staying at Farmhouse Inn) they will waive the tasting fee? It's true. Of course, we didn't know that but we were really happy with our wineries (Lynmar, Littorai and Hartford - all excellent!). When we returned from wine tasting in the afternoon, the hotel was having its daily complimentary Wine Hour. We ran in with our bags of purchased wine and had a glass of amazing, Small Vines wine. Later, another wonderful hotel driver (Avery) took us to Healdsburg for dinner (free of charge) in one of the beautiful hotel Lexus SUVs and then picked us up afterwards. We were so sad that we had to check out the next day. The jacuzzi was broken, so that just gives me more reason to return soon. This is my new favorite place! My fiancée & I were really looking forward to staying at Farmhouse after reviewing the website and marketing material online. I don't easily go to writing reviews - especially negative ones - but Farmhouse does not deserve the stars nor prices charged. I'm a business owner myself and know how these reviews can impact business. That said, though, this Inn is completely overrated and misrepresented on all fronts. The past years, we have stayed in several hotels in the Valley before and believe we have a pretty good sense of price vs value. This is beyond Four Seasons prices for a Holiday Inn experience. We wish we spend our Christmas & NY time and money at a place that lived up to the expectations outlined on the website. To add to it, the sheets in our bed were stained (red wine we didn't even had), walls are paper thin and the cleaning staff kept ignoring the "do not disturb" sign. Needless to say, a very very disappointing experience. One only hopes this review leads to a better customer experience for guests in the future. read more

We stayed in the King Luxury Suite and had the best time. It looks better in person than the photos! Which I thought would be hard to beat. We had great service and great food. Breakfast could've been better, option wise, but always great service and good quality. Turn down service was so relaxing and a great vibe. Fireplace lit with tiny candles and soft lighting. Amazing (hard to believe- gluten free) chocolate chip cookies on your bed. A s'more bar to enjoy the firepit in the garden. Also complimentary homemade soaps and bubble bath and scrub to enjoy anytime in the lobby. Just amazing. There was a small, no big deal OJ spill on my friend and they took care of the meal, the entire staff knew about it and sent her outfit to the dry cleaners. I'm very impressed. The only thing I would change is I would recommend renting a car! Ubers are hard to come by. Thank you Farmhouse Inn- we will be back very soon. read more

We had the best time at Farmhouse Inn in Forestville, CA Sonoma County. Quaint little Inn with the best rooms, best amenities, food and service!! It's truly an experience. The rooms are cozy with radiant heated floors in the bathroom as well as a steam shower, big tub and a lovely sitting area in the bedroom with a double-faced fire place. . . . The little touches around the room such as a glass jug filled with water on both sides of the bed or the yummy goat cheese and crackers and homemade salsa snacks left in your room make you want to never leave your room! But you'll want to because at the lobby, you will find some goodies such as ingredients to make s'mores with homemade marshmallows and local chocolates!! Or, you can cut a piece or homemade soaps, take personal sized body scrubs and bubble bath soaps. Also, you can come down and enjoy local coffees or teas to take with you if you're heading out for the day. When you come back in the afternoon, you'll find fresh cookies and hot apple cider! That's not all, at 5, a local winery comes and pours local wines. . . . My hubby and I got massages one morning at their spa and it was so nice and so relaxing. The amazing thing is, their restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner. We had breakfast 2 mornings and had dinner there one of the nights. Did I mention the restaurant is Michelin rated? Yes!! We had their 4-course dinner with wine pairing, which I may have to post about. We had the most relaxing yet fun weekend I cannot wait to go back! read more

My husband and I spent our brief honeymoon in Sonoma at farmhouse this past week. We both work a lot and live in different cities so finding a time to get away has been difficult. More so- planning an entire vacation filled with interesting activities can be impossible to fit in our busy schedules. Luckily farmhouse inn made our entire experience from the moment I booked my flights and stay till the end of our trip. We spent five days at farmhouse and it was wonderful. We're both very active and like to occupy our day with outdoor adventures so decided to go for their simples accommodation- the queen cottage. We could have chosen to stay in any one of their luxury suites which are lavish but ending up loving our decision. The cottage room was perfect. It was cozy and intimate in every sense of the words. The rooms where stowed inside a private cottage style enclave with our private garden door into a tiny patio before the entrance to the room. The room had a beautiful fireplace and a sauna. The bathroom was white and marbled with a giant bathtub with jets. They have a concierge assigned to us since the second we book our room. Anna was wonderful and worked with me to plan the whole trip- dinners to adventures to wine tasting. ** LOVED: room style, fireplace lit whenever you request, turn down milk and cookies, s'mores at the fire pit 24/7, fresh bath products at the front, wine hour everyday with tasting on site, concierge service and assistance with itinerary planning, ADVENTURES IN CYCLING WITH DAVE (runs his own bike tours with wine tasting but works often with farmhouse guests), complimentary car ride in Tesla to dinner, on site Michelin star restaurant (REVIEWED SEPARATELY), complimentary holiday buffet on Christmas Day, great room service ** Could improve: we liked a specific wine that is on their wine list at the restaurant and requested it to be delivered to our room since we presumed the on site sommelier would be able to assist but the concierge do not have access to the sommelier closet. Would be awesome to have access to wines served at the restaurant during our entire stay! But honestly it didn't Change our experience one bit. We loved everything else so much! WOULD RETURN? YES. Every year. We saw our friends room that was a kings luxury suite and it was wonderful. Would try that in the future. read more

If you are looking for a luxurious experience without the airs of a big resort definitely consider Farmhouse Inn. When minimoon plans in Big Sur were deferred due to the Soberanes fire, my new husband and I decided to go with the flow and look into wine country. We booked pretty last minute and had a great deal on the King Deluxe room which was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Check in: Super friendly front desk who welcomed us with a glass of wine. Check in was quick and easy and we were escorted to our room following a mini tour of the place. At the front office they have a bath bar, which was so fun! You can take back various complimentary scrubs and soaps to use. My saddest revelation was that we were only staying 1 night! I wanted to try them all.. Room: Beautiful farmhouse (obviously) styled rooms that feel very spacious yet cozy at the same time. The fireplace is so unique in that it serves both indoors and outdoor on the patio. The bed was very comfortable and was the perfect balance of firm/soft (although I'm sure this varies based on personal preference). The bathroom was amazing - any place with heated floors (see Big Sur Glen Oaks Motel) is a huge huge plus for me. The tub was a nice and modern jetted tub. But the big winner was definitely the unique steam shower. Lastly, the turndown chocolate chip cookies are to die for. Yes, we've all had a million chocolate chip cookies in our time, but I immediately googled the recipe after attempting to savor the cookie (didn't work.. I pretty much wharfed it down). Grounds: Very beautiful with roses in bloom when we visited in early August. The pool probably needed a few more lounge chairs, but that's minor. There are two fire pits that they turn on for you to make homemade smores (homemade graham crackers, valrhona chocolate, and homemade marshmallows) - AMAZING. The spa looked amazing, but as I mentioned we only stayed 1 night so didn't get to experience it. I look forward to our new staycation find and hope to make more trips to the Farmhouse Inn in the future! FYI cell reception is a bit spotty here. Service was impeccable. read more

This place has been on my bucket list for years, and I finally got to go. It's just as cute and charming as I had hoped. The rooms are spacious and comfy. The indoor/outdoor fireplace was a great addition. Everyone that works here is helpful, and pleasant, and just great to chat with. After working in luxury hotels for so long, I appreciate really great service, and Farmhouse Inn has it. The wine tastings in the afternoon, the bath bar they have at reception, the turn down cookies...everything is top notch and makes you feel like you're home, but a more peaceful, relaxing home. My only critique which isn't one at all, is that I wish there were more places to walk around on the property, as the property itself is a bit small, but regardless it's beautiful. The flowers and trees create a great ambiance. Also, the food is amazing. I can't say enough good things about this place, and I am so happy I finally got to come and stay for a lovely two nights. It's definitely a magical destination. read more

A very cute farmhouse. A Sonoma experience you have to try. The only slight downside are the rooms are a bit dated inside: old radios, darker rooms than we'd like and an old heater. The heater actually was way too hot when set at 69-70 degrees. We sweated and rolled around all night. Finally we decided to turn it off and then it became a bit cold. There was an indoor fire place and dry sauna. Service was great throughout the stay. Their artisanal soap is a must try and must buy. read more

Farmhouse Inn left us a noted that stated that their goal was to "surprise you every time whether it was your first or thirteenth stay." Well this was our first, and we will definitely be back. When we came in they had a bottle of champagne, a gift book and cupcakes waiting for us. Very nice touch. The spa was wonderful; we enjoyed a couple massage that was excellently done. I will write up the restaurant separately -- but if you stay at Farmhouse you must eat at the restaurant for more than just the breakfast; though the breakfast is excellent. Special kudos to the pastry chef who made the first scone I have ever liked! Every touch with the staff was superlative. Really nice touch? Check out all the bath salts and soaps that you cut for yourself, like at Lush, to take back to your room. read more

My god this is the worst place ever! DON'T DO IT! First off this place is so noisy because it is right on the highway. Then the room is so small you feel like you are living in a closet. You have to have the window open so the fire place will draft the smoke correctly. If you didn't have the window open your room fills with smoke but if you have the window open you will never sleep because of the noise. I should have taken them to court this place is so bad. Look, there are plenty of other places to stay don't fall for the marketing. Sooooo horrible!! read more

One of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed and worth every penny! It's actually a mile from my house and I pass it everyday on River, so for-sure I've been anticipating my stay with them. We celebrated 3 nights of pure bliss here for our anniversary and enjoyed it way too much. They really know how to deliver exceptional service and you get it from every Farmhouse Inn personnel. It was luxury and relaxation at its finest. The rooms to begin with are all unique and stunning. We stayed in a King Cottage that was divine! Made me feel like home just staying in that soft comfy bed and every morning after requested turn-down service, the BEST fresh baked chocolate chip cookies would appear next to our bedsides. They are extremely scrumptious , I could die happy eating them. I love the fireplace in front of the king bed because I could peep through and see the outside. In our room, our patio doors opened up to a sitting area that surrounded the same fireplace so that you are able to enjoy the stars out at night all warm and cozy. The first night we decided to do dinner at The Farmhouse restaurant, just a few steps from our room. Truly an array of delicious Michelin-starred food. Well that will be covered in another review. Moving on, the bathroom floors were heated and the shower was a sauna, not to mention the huge bathtub had jets. You cannot leave without using all of those during your stay. At the front office, they had samples of soaks and soaps. I ended up buying a bar, the lotion and conditioner. I really didn't want to leave and wanted to be reminded at home of the scents this magical place left with me. On the second night, we enjoyed complimentary wine while making s'mores. They were equipped with everything we needed to make it a successful gooey one. When we laid out at the pool the next morning, they provided us with ice pops that was delightful and refreshing. Have I mentioned the Adults Only clause? Really just pleasantly peaceful. We decided to do tapas in Healdsburg the second night, so we reserved for a driver to take us. Upon arriving, the doors to a Tesla Model X opened up. After sitting in one, I fell in love and is now the next ride I'll be getting. Couldn't be more of a perfect night once again. To complete the stay, I booked a massage at the spa. I haven't felt so relaxed and at ease from the quality of service and attention that The Farmhouse was able to attain. I even concocted my own oil of chamomile and pine to take home and use for clarity and energy. I knew it would take more than a nudge to get me back in the groove after my stay here. No wonder they are rated as one of the best in the country. read more

This place was amazing! I have been wanting to go here for ever but just haven't for some reason. We took clients and needless to Say they were very impressed. The dining room was amazing, the staff was impeccable and the food was to die for! Oh and the sommelier was very very knowledgeable and knew the answer to every question we had. We had the Small Vines Chardonnay which was out of this world. We had the rabbit and venison. If you want to treat yourself to an amazing meal you will not be disappointed! read more
