    Breakfast sandwich
    Spencer F.

Beautiful location on the Russian River. A true old world feeling. We ordered the breakfast sandwich and split a fresh pastry. Everything was fresh and made to order. I couldn't of done this at home. Our server Joleen was very knowledgeable of the entire menu and had many great suggestions, which we will use next time!!

Stayed the night recently while in the area, and enjoyed the restaurant, lounge and overnight lodging. Booked a king room with a private outside hottub. Checkin in all automated and online, no real human interaction. Door code sent via email the morning before my arrival. My initial email was never responded too, it is what it is. The room was comfortable, a little small for the size of the bed with the huge headboard and footboard, the room was literally all bed. A small "kitchenette" alcove. Coffee but not filters or way to actually make coffee? The shower was okay, fair water pressure and clean. The hottub was at 104 and covered on my arrival, it worked as intended. It served its purpose. Food in the lodge and the lounge and bar area, the food is really good. What we had the night of our visit, freshly made and full flavored. The bartender was kind and professional, he also was our server and brought our food out to the area we were sitting outside under the tall trees. A lot of the locals frequent this establishment. The lodge itself was okay. The room was a bit pricey but also served its purpose for my night there. It did included a part of my evenings meal with the room though, a nice change. 3.5 Stars rounded up for the location and lodge legacy 00984

Ordered bruschetta and got the biggest portion we've ever ha! Come hungry, leave happy! Food was solid. The bar tender Patrick was really kind and helpful too.

This is a hidden gem with a lot of interesting history. We ended up staying here because we were attending an event across the street at the Roadhouse. The rooms were nicely decorated and remodeled recently and the lodge building and bar had a nice lodge vibe. The bartender Patrick was super nice and we had a nice time talking with him over drinks. The lady that was there in the morning was super friendly as well and offered us coffee. We booked our room with Airbnb and it was easy to find and directions were clear. Being the hottest day of the year it was nice they provided a fan in our room too since there is no AC. Conveniently located just off the road and back in the trees it's a nice getaway spot if you need a place to stay.

My husband and I celebrated our 23rd anniversary at Rio Nido Lodge. We wanted to travel, somewhere nearby, without having to fly. Hence, we booked a 1-night reservation at the lodge. It was like camping, having trees around but having the comfort of sleeping on a bed. Basically, "glamping." For dinner, we went to the restaurant/bar in the same complex. Patrick was our bartender & host. Great guy! He made us feel comfortable at the start. We ordered dinner. FOOD For dinner, my husband and I shared the crab cakes for appetizer. I had white wine while my husband had beer. Normally, he's not a beer guy but he asked Patrick to surprise him. He liked the beer. As a main course, I had the Prime Rib with mashed potatoes. My husband had a salad. We had pumpkin pie for dessert. For breakfast, I had waffles & bacon and a cup of coffee. My husband ordered the breakfast plate. Cholina, our server, showed us the Avocado toast and another dish. SERVICE We enjoyed our interaction with Patrick, that night. The next morning, we had the pleasure of chatting with Cholina. She told us how the place has a special package for weddings and gatherings. She mentioned that there's a "package deal." We got interested as our 25 year anniversary is coming up. We will definitely come back then and we'll also let everyone we know! AMBIANCE The building looks like an English cottage in the middle of a forest. At night, there were locals there. We were actually approached by a couple. The restaurant/bar reminded us of an English pub; it felt very "down-to-earth." No pretense. Patrick and the other bartender (woman) were personable. Cholina, was such a "sales person." Though she said she's not, I would hire her as one (I'm in HR at a hotel management company). Maybe she should be! OVERALL Rio Nido Lodge is so close from the SF Bay Area. We will definitely refer our friends and family to go there. As for my husband and I, we will be back in a couple of years when we celebrate our silver/25th anniversary. Maybe even just return and take our friends and family who are visiting with us. This place is highly recommended!

We wanted to celebrate our engagent at Cherie's. l booked a room with hot tub. from the very beginning everything went awful. She didn't respond my messages. she didnt send us entrance code of the door. we waited outside almost 30 min for someone coming to open the door. l wanted to buy premium package for room decoration but she answered after our arrival. hot tub was so dirty. we got infected. all our body rushed terribly. we shared this with manager. they done nothing. they didint do anything for us. we asked for refund. not even replied. this place and management are awful. they just care about money, not a good service, not customer health. it has been a week, we have still been suffering from this rush areas on our body. they did nothing to fix it.

Obvious recent patching done to the ceiling. Patching was done poorly, and the paint cover up was worse (picture attached). * It was a hot day, attempted to close the blinds. 2 of 3 blinds would not close. Frustrating. Managed to get only 1 down half mast. * No battery in our smoke detector. (picture attached) * There were cups wrapped in plastic next to sink. There was a spider INSIDE of the plastic wrap. It was revolting. (picture attached) * Vanity looked new but top drawer would not open and close. The cabinet drawers were not aligned and unstable. Further, the insides of the drawers were already soiled and stained. (pictures attached) * No drawers for clothes. Where do we put our T-shirts? Underwear? Shorts? Pajamas? Lived out of suitcase. * No soap dish next to the sink. All of these, individually experienced, might have been trivial. However, collectively, they add up to an experience of being in a cheap motel. This site was nearby a redwoods state park (requires driving) and walking distance to one portion of the Russian river (though you have to cross the highway 17 where cars travel very fast). I highly recommend the redwoods state park because of the picturesque setting and paved paths. Two nights two days was more than enough time to explore the town. Downtown was a short walk (groceries, pizza, sandwiches, anything you need) and on the property there were kitchen spaces for us to hang out with plenty to do on the property. Easily sleeps 2 couples in each room or mom and dad and 2 kids, but that's not what you're there for. Outside (if you take both spaces) is a large outdoor deck divided in half by a wall but connected so you can get from one room to the other. It has a shared yard beyond that. The landscaping is amazing. The property is on the river with tons of space to chill in the water. They have a deck for the facility and everyone can use it. It's shared so be prepared to be with other people but it is a place that seems to attract a good crowd. Everyone who we ran into there was nice. Another thing on the property they was cool was coffee, fresh ice cold filtered water, popcorn, and the front desk made the kids cotton candy daily. There is an ice machine there as well so you can roast in the sun and drink ice cold filtered water till you pop. That part of the place is in the outdoor kitchen which is community and has board games and seating for everyone. If I were to get married or have a party it would 1000% be here. I think there is 12 rooms and I'd rent the whole spot for it without even thinking twice. Maybe bring extra help to keep the party rolling but this place legit is perfect for it. They also have like a VIP outdoor seating area we didn't end up getting but has a TV and some "roped off" area to hang out at that is an amazing setup. I can keep going but we loved this place. Even upon arrival our room had spiders have babies in the room (happens yall it's on the river and def outdoorsy) and my wife felt awkward asking because we didn't want to sound like the complaining people but we asked for a vacuum to get them out. The lady actually came in the room and helped us. 5 star stay. 5 star people, oh and being a licensed contractor and getting along with people who work, the people who kept the grounds were cool too. Super nice to our kids, and when you see the landscape, you can tell they are good at their job. Can't say enough good stuff. We will be back.
